I got a flat outside of Nephi. Trooper Harris that came to "help" was NO help and was quite rude. Luckily, he told us to call May's and the angel, Joe, showed up to save us. Historically they have never been the cheapest but I always felt they were honest. Today I got quoted $300 for some AC system work. They tried to upsell some other services. I declined. Went to pickup my truck the price had doubled. $597 and change. The bill for $301 was there but they added $200 labor to charge the AC system @ 1.41hours labor the rest was for freon. read more

We were headed from Wyoming to California when we broke down. We requested a tow truck via AAA while we were stuck right outside of Nephi. 10 minutes or less go by and to our luck Kris shows up. He was extremely kind and provided great customer service while we troubleshooted a couple issues. He ended up towing us an hour north to Salt Lake. I'm on the Nephi exit and my fuel pump goes out. A trucker offers to help. Once we figure it is more then a roadside fix I ask him where I can get my Denall fixed. He suggests May Automotive. Nicest family owned business!!! He also helped me tow my boat to Big O Tires!!! The folks at May Automotive took such good care of us .. there were 6 of us heading to Lake Powell. They quickly diagnosed the car problem. As they unhooked the boat from the tow truck they noticed that the tires on the trailer were worn and unsafe. They were able to help us get to BIG O tire to get them fixed. The owners also drove us to a local pizza place so we could eat while waiting for a our ride! We were traveling home after thanksgiving and our transmission went out. Not a great day but After calling AAA Kris came to our rescue. He got to us as quickly as he could and drive us and our truck 33 miles to a shop. We had a great conversation and he had a lot of helpful information about the area. A few weeks ago my car got a flat tire on the freeway just north of Nephi. I have AAA roadside so I wasn't too concerned, except they weren't too quick in determining where I was, that took nearly 15 minutes. I then received a call from Cory at May Automotive and he'd just been notified to come and assist me. Cory arrived in less than ten minutes of his call to me, took less than 15 minutes to change the tire and also informed me that the left front tire was bad and that I should go straight to the nearest tire store, which happened to be in Santaquin. I stopped and got two new front tires and an alignment. Cory was terrific, didn't just take care of the immediate problem but checked things out and determined what I needed to do immediately to stay safe, he truly was a life saver. Thanks Cory and May Automotive for such a wonderful worker. Theses guys are legendary! We were on our way to Lake Powell and broke down a mile from this shop. They were able to tow our car and boat. Life Savers. They are able to fix it up by noon tomorrow. So fast. We found out that the boat trailers tires needed changing. They towed our boat over to a tire shop free of charge. They offered us drinks while we are waiting for our ride. a while back i had a fuel pump go out in nephi as i was travelling cross-country, and i ended up going to these guys... may automotive replaced my bad fuel pump with another bad fuel pump - which conveniently gave out shortly after i ended my trip about 1,000 miles away. when i phoned back to may automotive and reported this issue, they treated me like an imbecile for going elsewhere to have their bad fuel pump replaced and they told me i had no recourse with them at all. they completely ignored the fact that i couldn't bring it back to them AS I WAS NOW 1,000 MILES AWAY. the worst part is that when my original fuel pump died there in nephi, i had to have a friend back east send me cash via western union so i could pay these guys for the repair they were doing... i told them that i needed to do western union and that i needed a dollar amount for the transfer... they told me one amount - which i then requested via western union - but when they tallied up my tab it was MUCH more money that they wanted, so now i had to hit up another friend to pay the extended difference via credit card over the phone. trust me, weary travelers - avoid may automotive like the plague that they are because you WILL get ripped off by these opportunistic arse-clowns. read more

I was passing through on a road trip when the plastic undercarriage protector on my car broke loose. May Automotive was off the next exit, and we limped in. The place was very clean and Chris and Josh couldn't have been nicer. Chris dropped what he was doing to assess, and proposed a fix to get us back on the road without needing a major repair, even though eventually parts will need to be replaced. The fix took about 20 minutes, after which they wouldn't accept payment. These guys totally helped me out of a jam because if it hadn't been repaired asap, the whole big piece would've ripped off on the road causing God only knows how much more damage to my car. You guys rock and you totally earned this review. Thanks a ton. If I lived nearby, I'd take my car here. read more

Just north of Nephi a person flagged us down to tell us that sparks were coming from underneath my Yukon. We took the next exit and stopped at the first automotive shop we could find. It was 5:00 pm. We were so lucky that the shop was May Automotive Repair. I noticed that the sign on the door said they closed at 5:00. I felt really stressed thinking that the door was probably locked, and we were going to be stranded for the night. To my surprise the door was unlocked and we were greeted by a friendly man named Corey. He immediately started to diagnose the problem which was ended up being a serious failure of the transmission. He and Josh explained that they would have to order the part and would not be able to get it fixed for a few days. I was able to use my AAA membership and they had Chris tow us to St. George that night. They were all so kind to us and knowledgeable. They went out of their way to help us even though I'm sure they would have liked to go home at closing time. They are the best!!!! The only way I know to repay their kindness is to "pay it forward" which I will do at the earliest opportunity. read more

My daughter and her son were in an automobile accident on Friday, November 20, 2015. May Automotive was called to the accident. They towed her vehicle into Nephi and transported her and her son also. They provided excellent service. Our daughter was quite shaken by the accident and their secretary and staff watched over our 3 yr-old grandson, providing food, drink,and a toy tow truck, while giving our daughter a chance to pull herself together. An accident is a VERY traumatic thing for a young child to go through and they went out of their way to help them. Thank you, May Automotive. read more
