This is my favorite movie theatre in the area. I prefer it over the Rave or the AMC because it's always clean, the soda machine has vanilla Coke (and any soda known to man including healthier choices ) comfortable seating and the customer service has always been good. We went to see Cinderella the other day , and as usual the Theater was very clean, personnel were very friendly, and the sound and video were as good as I have heard in a non Atmos Theater (the movie we saw was not in Atmos at the time we went). You can't beat the price any day you go there, and Tuesdays is a super bargain price of $5.50 for any one movie, all day long. This is a great day to explore how Dolby Atmos movies sound. One thing I really like is that the sound level is at the proper level, and not cranked up. Very spacious sounding, and appears to be properly setup for the best sound. I have to give one star in order to write my review but I would give it a big fat ZERO if I could. I order my tickets online so I didn't have to go and deal with the line. I get a confirmation number and I call the theater to ask why I wasn't given the option to download my tickets and if I still have to wait outside. The employee says, "NO, you're good, you come in and use the kiosk in the lobby to print them out." Ok so I get there go inside and the employee greeting us tells me that I cannot use the kiosks which are by customer service window, that I need to go back outside and get in line and give the confirmation number to the teller and they will give me my tickets. It was so frustrating, so I proceed to do that, I go and speak to a manager as to why then I am been charged a convenience fee online if I still have to wait in line, I could have just purchased my tickets there and save me the convenience fee. Of course she says, "well it all depends on how you purchased your tickets, if you used a regular credit card, you download, if you use ipay, paypal then you get a confirmation code and get in line." I told her that that just sound so stupid and a waste of peoples time and taking peoples money without given them an explanation and that in the future she as the manager needs to give her staff the correct information because I had called and questioned it and I was mis-informed. Of course she just says sorry and looks the other way... Just thought I informed people that would go out of their way to buy your tickets in advance to make sure you have all the correct information if you're trying to make there on time for the show you want like me who had limited time do to my work schedule!!! read more

Looking to watch more movies at Maya Cinemas. I stop coming to the previous Brenden after more new theaters near-by open it doors and the still popular DVD machine rental help me stay home more often. Not forgot to mention the not too clean restrooms at Brenden many years ago. Every time I drove by Brenden, it got quieter and no surprise a new ownership took over. Many new upgrades within a few months since it started remodeling near April-May. The theater was pretty solid business the day I came to watch a movie during the afterrnoon hours. Look forward to see more customers knowing about the new remodel theater in the quiet side of Century Plaza. Very friendly staffs who greeted customers and ask did I enjoy the show? This cinema has changed a lot since it changed hands. The seats are the same size, but now the armrests are moveable - lets you have a bigger seat if you wish. (This is true for most of the theaters - the one at the far end of the building, on the right side of the exit still has standard seats.) The bathrooms are located not too far from the theaters - one every 3-4 theaters, I believe - so you don't miss too much if you have to use them. Best of all, the prices are pretty cheap, compared to other theaters in the area. You can get in to pretty much any movie (even new ones) for a discount during the day, up till 4pm. Leg room could be better in some theaters; tall people may have some discomfort. Overall, great place, nice prices, friendly people. I go here all the time, just because of this. read more

I have been a local resident of this Maya cinemas for 4 1/2 years. I was really disgusted disgusted with the way the staff and manager handled my daughter and several other students last night October 20, 2017. My daughter was really excited to go and see Medea Boo2 for the 8:30 show last night. It turns out that there were several black kids wanting to see the 830 movie however when my daughter got to the window to purchase her tickets she was told that they were not letting groups in... so then my daughter asked for a manager she didn't understand because she was not with a group it was just her self plus one. So the manager also stated that they wasn't letting anyone into the movie theater that were in groups and that the kids can go in with a parent. This is where I was confused because even after I spoken with the manager he stated that yes you do She can't get in unless you come and watch the movie with her I then stated that I watch the movie today at 12:30 so why would I pay to watch it a second time this is something she wanted to enjoy doing with her friend. It's not a requirement for an adult to be present for this particular movie so I didn't understand why that was even mentioned to me as an option actually an only option for my daughter to see this movie. It was really sad to see several black kids being rejected to seeing this movie Madea Boo 2... we love Tyler Perry movies they're all good! And I really want my daughter to see this movie this is the only local theater near us but I now feel like we were singled out because of our race. This is a situation that I have to now explain to my daughter that it's happening all over the world racism it is a sad sad thing but it is very very true. Not sure why this theater never seams busy. They have great prices and lots of space since they aren't busy. I think streets of Brentwood stole their business. I have enjoyed many a movie at this location. I have been around since it was Brendan theaters a couple years ago. The current employees and management are respectable and friendly. The movie experience is still great, but there is one thing that did change, the prices! I simply don't understand how a company chooses to take over a location and jack up the prices. nothing has really changed in my opinion top warrant an increase in ticket costs. to be honest, they still have some of the same advertisement and movie posters that Brendan used. I believe that in order for Maya Cinemas to be competitive with the fabulous AMC, they definitely need to step up their game and provide adequate ticket prices. the location is in pittsburg where not the best clientele reside. take these options into consideration and maybe we can give 5 stars one day. read more

If you haven't been since it was Brenden, you definitely should go. Brenden used to be me go-to theater, once upon a time, but after the Deer Valley theater opened up, Johnny slowly seemed to lose interest in this place, letting it become rundown. Lucky for me, I moved out of the area, shortly after the decline started. But my son lives nearby and I come out to visit him, sometimes. Today we went and caught a movie together (I've been there a half-dozen times in the last couple of years) and I'm continually impressed by how incredibly nice it is. Clean and comfortable, with great sound and big clean screens. Yes, the screens do get smaller toward the back, where they show the older films, but I haven't been back there, so I can speak for them. I especially love that they put the restrooms on the first floor. I've had bad knees forever and those stairs were a killer! I look forward to my next visit! read more

This theatre has been recently purchased and rennovated. It use to be the Brendan 16. The Theatre itself is very nice now. Comfy leather-type reclining chairs with high backs, overall new and clean. The only issue I have with this Theatre and why I gave it only 3 instead of 5 stars is that I often bring older people who use canes and need to have somewhere to sit and rest while waiting for a movie or while waiting for someone to use the restroom, or while at the snack bar, etc. They have no benches or seating in the long, long hallway where the theatres are located. Sometimes they need to sit a few minutes to catch their breath just to get down the hallway and there is no where for them to do that. For that reason they do not like this theatre and never want to go here even tho the prices are better than the AMC in Antioch or Brentwood. It's really a shame because it's such an easy fix. Stick 3 or 4 benches down the hallway so people can sit down if they need to. They do that at the AMC Antioch so they can do it here. We would go to this theatre every week if they had those benches! Nowhere to sit at the Maya. Unfortunately many people don't realize how important that is to the elderly and/or handicapped. read more

We were so excited when we heard that the new theater was open. However, when we arrived at the theater, on a Tuesday, the front window staff didn't know how much to charge us for the movie. It was over 90 degrees and she made us wait outside for almost 10 minutes while she and another staff member worked out the figures. Finally, she told us we were going to be charged $9.50 instead of $5.50 for the movie because it was a Sony movie. When we asked her why we were being charged full price on $5.50 Tuesday she replied, "because it is a Sony movie." For some reason she thought this was a good enough explanation and acted like we were stupid for inquiring further. Apparently, at Maya Cinemas, $5.50 Tuesdays actually means $9.50 Tuesdays for Sony movies. She said that Sony doesn't allow for their movies to be shown for a discounted price. However, we watched the very same movie at Rave in Brentwood that same night for $5.00. It seems like Maya is upcharging for certain movies until they start to make money. They will not get my money after the service and lame explanation. Rave provides excellent customer service and offers $5.00 movies all day on Tuesdays and they don't charge extra for "Sony" movies. read more

Going through the trouble of both me and my wife off work at the same time with a sitter is a challenge so we had a gift card for fandango. So we wanted to try this theater. We get there early, fairly crowded movie theater adopt 5 minutes into the movie the people behind us are talking non stop. I ask them to please not talk so loud. They laughed at me so I asked the manager to do anything. She sent an usher in who did nothing and the talking went on. I went back to the manager who sent another usher once again nothing. Currently sitting in the theater annoyed to the max. I came 5mins before the start of my movie and I asked the clerk was the stadium almost full. He told me no, there are plenty of seats. I buy a hot dog and ice cream and proceed to the theater. IT'S COMPLETELY FULL!!!! then I go to the customer service window and waited another 5mins for someone so I can exchangey ticket for the next showing. I tell him how I was told there where seats left and clearly there wasn't. He tells me the next showing is $3 more and 40mins later. Im like wth! If I would've known all this I wouldn't have bought my ticket or my snacks! I come to this theater at least 4times a month but today made me not want to come back. So I sat and waited until the next show, ate my ice cream so it wouldn't melt. But I am BEYOND ANNOYED! no help what so ever! read more

Very pissed off. Went to 5p showing of Shazam on Sat. Was told at ticket booth that show was jn Spanish. Bought tickets for 6p show. Their billboard was broken and not showing times, so there may have been issues with their ticketing. Waited in car until showtime, then went into theater and bought $15 worth if concessions (water, popcorn, candy bar). Sat in theater through previews, and the wrong movie comes up. Checked tickets and sign outside and realized we had been sold the wrong tickets. Went to customer service and told them problem (it's now 6:30). Was told that we'd have to pay more for the new tickets. And, the ticket would be for the 6p show which already started 30 min ago. Incredulous! Said we didn't want that (duh) because the show was already started. She went and checked in back and came back to tell us that the next (7p) would cost us more. No apology, no free tickets, no compensation for all the mistakes that we're now 1.5 hours into. Asked for money back and left. We are a mixed minority couple by the way. Unbelievable. read more

Just had a tour of this location Awesome the assitant manager is so well versed in the location my wife and I are so impressed that we went in and sat down in there new seats. Wow is all I can say. we are going back tonight to go to the show. Can you say free refills on drinks with no waiting and butter your own pop corn stations. yes and the bathrooms are state of the art and water saving. By the way the bathrooms are not orange like the rave. This may be the new theater for our family even though it may be a little bit of drive. Ok when you walk in this place it is so clean and new it smells like that new car smell that we all love when you buy a new car. Way to go Maya. to whom It May Concern : Monday 23th of May 2016 I decided to take my daughters to eat and then to see a movie Angry Birds at 6:35 pm show, first went swimming at my brother's house, then we went to eat at Olive Garden, but the portions were quite large and ordered the rest to take home to avoid wasting time my daughters 10 and 11 years old were changed clothes in the bathroom of the restaurant, and there we put the takeaways, and as it was late 6.40 pm we ran to the Maya Theaters not had time to pass and put the bag in the car when we entered the theater one girl asked me tickets and demanded my daughter had the bag, I said it is clothes and leftovers from the restaurant, and she told me we had to return the bag to the car or not enter the cinema, at this point the movie already was begun, and I told her no, I was not going to walk to my car and lose another 10 or 15 minutes, then angry and frustrated, I asked my money back and asked to speak to the manager. A young blonde girl came and spoke only with the other employee and told me to return my money on deposit box, I cry out that the person who asked me the tickets needed more training and then I asked the young blonde manager, what kind of manager is she who did not have the decency to ask what the problem was, I'm in the business customer service and the customer and the customer is always first, she make me feel like I was not worth anything for being Latino let me remind you first the name is Maya movie theaters can not be more Latin than that and second, no one can judge a person by the way they look I served two deployments, with United States Marine Corp can not be more American than that serve the motherland, When I visit Maya Theaters always I bring my family of 5 and other times even schoolmates of my daughters till 7 girls, I'm a good customer and therefore the way that made me feel yesterday, did not make me want to go back to Maya Theaters anymore, in other words the movie theater is for customers who pay to see a movie and not just for two girls with very little training and the only thing they expect is the pay check every two weeks. Holy shit, just when I thought customer service had reached rock bottom, I go to this theater. Way to set an incredible low for theater experiences. All you have to do is play movies and take my money for your overpriced crap. But no, that was too difficult a task. I ask to see a movie that is scheduled at 8:30, according to my Flixster app, which is pretty damn reliable. Me: "8:30 for the Avengers, please." Stupidface: "We don't have an 8:30 show." Me: "According to the Internet, you do." Stupidface: "What website did you use? Because our website shows the right times." Wait, what? What the fuck does it matter which website I used!? Me: "I used Flixster." (At this point, I show her on my phone the 8:30 showtime) Stupidface: "Yeah the only accurate show times are the ones on our website." Um ok, I guess I'll JUST LEAVE THEN.
