The food was great, a nice halal option, that is also Thai! The food portions were large, our family ended up also getting the crab fried rice and Tom Yum Soup with the panang curry. The beef was a little chewy for the $5 upcharge. The housemade cola was also a surprise, we asked for coke zero, recieved a diet coke that tasted more like cherry coke - when asked, the waitress said it was their housemade diet coke, they didn't carry coke products. We exchanged it for their regular housemade cola - which was delicious! Just surprised they didn't outright say it was their housemade soda. The restaurant is a bit small, cramped for our family of 7, especially when there was another family sitting near us as well, but we felt attended to and the waitress was nice. We did however, get some spoons that were dirty, but was easily changed out. We would definitely visit again. read more

On first approach, there were quite a few tables and chairs (seemingly from coldstone) that were blocking the entrance making it difficult to maneuver to get into the entrance of the restaurant. Once inside the ambiance was welcoming and the staff was friendly. We ordered take out on their website which was an easy experience. I do wish there were more details in the descriptions of the menu items because I wasn't full sure what was Included as "veggies" in all of the rice dishes. Luckily it ended up being a nice variety of veggies which is what I was hoping for! We ended up getting the pad Thai and the pineapple fried rice with a side of peanut sauce. The online ordering system was easy to use and my husband picked up the order with no problem. We ordered the fried rice lunch combo, which came with a drink. I opted for the Diet Pepsi, which came in a can. The fried rice was delicious and fresh. I love that it included cucumbers, tomato and lime-- it's definitely a uniquely Thai fried rice. I was so excited when I heard that a halal Thai place opened up so close to me, especially because I'd heard such great things. We ordered the shrimp dumplings, red curry, crab fried rice, and Thai tea with boba. The serving sizes were huge & very nicely presented. The staff was so kind and attentive. Maya Thai is in a perfect location right between all the tourist locations in Orlando. Easy to find with tons of parking makes it an ideal location to grab food. First, we really enjoyed the summer rolls. They were huge, had lots of flavor, and came with a nice sauce to dip. The gyoza was dull, sadly, and didn't live up to the same hype as the summer roll. For the entree, both were merely okay. If you don't have a thai spot nearby, they would be fine; but they weren't super great. The sauce on the drunken noodles was very plain and there seemed to be a lack of chicken in the portion (but tons of noodles). This was an interesting experience. The place is pretty small on the inside, can get over crowded easily. They had one waitress serving everyone which does make sense however she was overwhelmed and it was very noticeable. They had QR codes to scan to view the menu, which worked because the menu given had no ingredient descriptions. My husband ordered the sautéed broccoli due to the description stated no mushrooms. However, when the food came out it had mushrooms and we explained to the waitress this is why he ordered this, every item that had mushrooms described it did. She told us the descriptions were wrong online, so we advised they not tell people to scan the code to use the menu if it is inaccurate because that's what people base their orders off of. Stopped in during lunch while in Orlando on vacation. This was located just down the road from the resort we were staying at which was very convenient for us. We both got the Thai milk tea to drink and it was delicious. We started with the steamed gyoza and it was not for us. I'm not sure what the filling was made of but it had a texture like there was some type of chopped nuts in it and it was just off putting. The chicken pad Thai was very good and the dinner portion is definitely plenty to share or have leftovers which was the plan for me. The hubs got the beef pad see-ew and he said it was some of the best he has had. He also felt that the portion was plentiful and had enough for lunch the next day. It's a smaller restaurant with about 8 or so tables and is more on the casual side of dining but would be good for a date night, girls night out, etc. Will definitely visit again next time we are in the area. read more

I ordered from here through Door Dash (pick up option) and I have conflicting feelings. The food was great - I'll give credit where it's due. I ordered the basil fried rice and pad see ew, both meatless versions. The flavor was great and the food was piping hot. However, the service was unfortunately really slow (food was not ready until 15 min after the Door Dash app said it would be ready), and the portion sizes were terribly small in relation to the prices. While the food was good, I don't think they were worth $40 given just how small the portion sizes were. I understand everything has gotten expensive, but for a take-out type of dinner that only fed two people and was nothing fancy, I don't think it was worth it. I had Spicy Eggplant with tofu and the tofu appetizer. A lot of tofu I know. Normally, I worry about this dish being overly sweet when it's this specific dish or the very similar Eggplant with basil. This was not syrupy and the vegetables were quite fresh. At the same time, it was not all that spicy. At medium spicy it was not noticeable. The fried tofu dipping sauce was workable. The chicken satay was tender and perfectly grilled and dumplings were nice and warm but the food portion was small for the $$$ the red Thai curry was a little too runny for the consistency. Not sure if this is the only restaurant in the area but they can surely improve. We appreciated that they had Salam cola and pakora instead and didn't serve usual Coca-Cola. We started our meal with Krab Rangoon and the chicken avocado rolls. The crab rangoon was fairly average, but the sauce that came with it was quite delicious. It was my first time for chicken avocado rolls and I really enjoyed these. Chock full with vegetables, these rolls are almost a salad. And the dipping sauce is simply phenomenal. I would eat a shoe if I get to dip it in that sauce. You just have to try it... the roll, not the shoe. For my main dish I chose the Pad Woonsen with chicken with medium spice level. The flavors were absolutely on point. I really wish I lived closer, I would love to explore other dishes from this menu. I will make it a point to stop by here any time I'm in Orlando. The space is a no frills, but very clean, dining room that offers both a takeout counter and table service. The staff is welcoming and personable. I dined alone and ordered vegetable spring rolls (vegetarian) and a red curry with tofu and vegetables. The spring rolls were OK. While the ingredients were fresh, and the kitchen did a great job of NOT making them greasy, they also lacked a defining flavor. While they certainly served their fundamental purpose of eliminating my hunger pangs, they did not delight my palate. Perhaps a little more oil was in order. The curry was similarly not as flavorful as I would have liked, although I must admit I don't know how one makes a somewhat bland curry. Again the vegetables were quite fresh, but I did not get the aromatic flavors that I usually like to experience in a curry. Admittedly, I ordered a hot curry so that may have impacted my taste buds a bit. Based on one experience, Maya Thai is good, but not great. I've tried Maya Thai at both the Pembroke Pines and Orlando locations, and unfortunately, I've never had a good experience at either one. The Pembroke Pines location has decent food, but the service is terrible. I had to ask twice just to get plates and cups, and the staff seemed inattentive overall. On the other hand, the Orlando location has friendlier service, but the food quality is awful. It doesn't taste anything like the Pines location. I recently ordered the Volcano Chicken, and it was watery with a fishy taste and smell. When I asked for a refund, they declined and only offered an exchange--which didn't feel worth it given the quality of the food. Honestly, save your time and money and try any other halal Thai restaurant instead. read more
