I came across Mayada during a yelp search and fell in love with some of the pix of the hair cut she had done. I had really grown out my hair and it was lacking in volume and just a nice cut in general. Im very picky when it comes to my hair and don't go out to get a cut as often because I haven't found a hair stylist who I can trust much yet so I was super excited to go in for my appointment here. However, my hair cut came out not as I expected. Given the amazing photos I saw and with long hair I was hoping to get some nice layers and cut my hair shorter with more style but u fortunately it came out to be an average short hair cut that lacked depth and a good side bang. I work at Regency salon with Mayada, she was at the lunch room taking her lunch break. She noticed I looked a little bit different I told her I had let my hair grow but I need a cut on the sides and on the back to look more like a Gentlemens haircut. Oh my Mayada let me count the ways....Hairdresser, therapist, nutritionist and friend. She is a woman of many talents. I started going to Mayada when I realized my hair needed a change. Updating my earlier review after visiting Mayada's new Regency Salon Studios location. Still 5 stars seven year later! Mayada specializes in color, all forms of highlights, and she does amazing haircuts and blowdrys. She's not the girl to call for updos, braids, curling iron work, perms, Brazilian blowouts, etc. She refers out for those services. She specializes in color and hair cuts. Also, she is BUSY. I make my appointments 6 weeks in advance and hope that nothing comes up forcing me to reschedule. Mayada is absolutely worth the wait. She moved to Regency Salon Studios in Woodland Hills. It's an amazing salon and you're in your own private studio when you're getting your hair done. Mayada is always on time and always makes me look amazing! I always get highlights, color, cut and blow dry. I came to Mayada well over a year ago with 2 toned red hair, with the top of my hair being orange and the rest being a dull red brown. I had seen her work and decided to give her a try. She explained why it happened ,what she was going to do to give me a uniform color, and the products she was going to use. And I have curly hair as does Mayada, and she even gave me a lesson and tips on how to blow dry my fuzzy hair straight and also curly. Love the new salon! When Mayada moved from her old salon on Ventura Blvd. I was a little sad - I mean I was walking distance from my office. I would walk over at lunch and get my hair cut - now I actually have to get in the car and drive - what an inconveniece I thought. The new Regency Salon is AMAZING! Mayada has done a wonderful job with the decor. It is relaxing and modern - a nice retreat when getting your hair done. The individual "bubbles" are also a big hit. Privacy when you want to have those "stylist therapy sessions" on the down low! This is much more up-scale for those who want a little more from their services. Mayada is really hitting her prime with her hair cuts, styling and colors. After nearly 20 years of having her as "my girl"...she has it down. Perfect haircuts every time, even when I change up my style regularly. She has the color down to a science, so that it looks natural, shiny and beautiful. I am constantly getting compliments! My only wish is that I found Mayada sooner. I have gone through so much with my hair and with my former stylist who got me from dark brown to blonde over the course of a year and my hair staid healthy and long and strong. Sadly, she moved away and I had to go in search of a new stylist. I tried over a dozen different stylist each one cutting off a little more length and frankly taking me farther and farther away from the color I wanted. It finally all ended with the worst cut and color experience ever leaving me orange and fried right before my birthday.
