The doctor was great, and agreed with me that it was probably broken. However, the medical assistant and front office workers were way below par. I'm a senior without a smart phone, and the woman behind the window handed me a 4 lb. electronic board to enter my info on. Then she watched me struggle to my seat with my injured foot and my cane. The M.A. came out and asked me to follow her. She also watched me struggle with the board and my cane without offering any help. After the doctor gave me a referral to the hospital across the street for an x-ray, the M.A. came back in and said, "You can go," then abruptly left. I hobbled out by myself. Shouldn't someone have offered some kind of assistance, or better yet a wheelchair? They have had good people in the past but the good ones never stay in Fall River Mills. The doctor was visiting from the Burney clinic.

However, they are trying to bill us a rural health and showing that we were referred to/from their doctor. We never saw a doctor, just Nurse Practitioner. They will NOT rebill insurance as Urgent Care and are charging us with the whole bill. This is wrong. We will never go there again and will not recommend them. We are still fighting the billing on this. Horrible.

I called to ask about getting my blood pressure scrips renewed. I've called at least 6 times now over the past three weeks. Terry has hung up on me, lied to me, and been the most vile person to try to work with. She's told me that she's faxed in my renewals many times now, but for some reason the pharmacy only received one of them. And this morning after hanging up on me, she called back to say that I must come in for a blood draw before I can get my blood pressure meds renewed. I've been out for more than 2 weeks. Terry is very ineffective and rude and should not be allowed to answer the phone or greet patients. I will be changing clinics.

We feel as though we as patients are being taken seriously, and that it matters how we feel about treatments and medications, we have never had this feeling before. Doctor Liwanpo is young and extremely well informed , she welcomes questions and encourages collaboration. She goes out of her way to accommodate her patients, follows up in a timely manner with test results. It is totally refreshing and encouraging to see medicine being practiced in this manner. Six of us were camping at Burney Falls State Park in August, 2010. Our son had just gotten back…read morefrom Iraq and Kuwait and we were celebrating. Unfortunately he caught a very nasty case of the flu. After 36 hours of doing things that people with the flu usually do (and getting no sleep while he was doing it), it was time to seek medical aid. The woman at the State Park entrance kiosk was very helpful. She even called the clinic in Burney to make sure they could take care of him before we left. Unfortunately, it turned out that he was in worse shape than they had anticipated and they sent us on a 17 mile drive to the emergency room in Fall River Mills where we spent the evening. I believe the clinic in Burney and the hospital in Fall River Mills are both part of Mayer Memorial Hospital District. Fall River Mills is a small town and the hospital is small, too. The emergency room has just four beds. The emergency room doctor probably was on call for the entire hospital and was dressed more like a maintenance supervisor than a medical doctor, but he was all business and directed the ER staff on what to do. He stopped in from time to time to make sure everything was "progressing smoothly," as he put it. There were two EMT's ("paramedics") that had nothing better to do than to help the (one) nurse in the emergency room. Since our son was their only patient, the three of them took good care of him while exchanging war stories with him and keeping him occupied so he didn't concentrate on how bad he felt. While it may seem strange to say this, our evening in this emergency room was a pleasant experience. The staff took good care of our son and while being thoroughly professional in what they did, they were good company and extremely friendly while we waited for the medicines to do their job. Our son recovered and in a few days he and his wife continued on their vacation to Yellowstone and parts east. I am impressed with this hospital, especially the ER staff. I only wish I could remember their names.
