Mayfair has pretty much all the adult beverages I need and it's a short walk from my house. Which makes me wonder, "Why don't I shop here more often?" Turns out that I don't usually buy just a bottle or a four pack of IMT cans at a time. And if I'm buying multiple things, I can't carry it all home by myself. So that leaves me at the mercy of delivery alcohol or someone driving me to wherever they want to go. That being said, I have been making it a priority to stay close to home for shopping and to get smaller portions at a time. So the trips to Mayflower have been more frequent. Long exposition right? It's a nice liquor store that carries beer, wine and booze. Lots of canned wine options, which works well for warm weather parties or park excursions. They even have Laws Whiskey small packs for gifts if that's how you roll. Prices are reasonable and the store is kept very clean. I live in the Park Hill neighborhood and have shopped at Mayfair Liquors for 30 years and started with them back at their old location across the street. I came to purchase 3 bottles of liquor totaling about a hundred bucks. I had to make sacrifices because they did not have liter bottles of what I wanted, and they didn't have a well-known Crown Royal product in stock at all. Nevertheless, I check out and as an afterthought, I said well maybe I will take a bag. They said" that will be a dime sir". It kinda hit me wrong and my reply was "you must be kidding me" to which they replied no, that will be another dime. I had them credit my Visa and walked out. They lost a 30 year customer and a hundred dollar sale over a dime. Ten cents..... I guess they're not real big on customer retention. I drove right down to Argonaut liquors got exactly what I wanted was checked out by friendly people and paid less. I can't do business with people this ignorant. read more

Due to covid, this establishment wasn't offering receipts which is already a poor choice. On June 6th, after checking out my Latina friend was told she was good to go, walked out of the store and was then chased by a store employee with threats of calling the cops if she didn't turn around. Countless white folks walked out of the store with no receipt in hand and no suspicion of stealing. Do not support racist establishment. read more

I originally got on Yelp to see if they are open Christmas Eve and was shocked by the amount of hilariously dumb people claiming this establishment is of all things racist. Get a life you losers. Park Hill Friends and Neighbors, I can't believe none of us has written a review for Mayfair Liquors. If you stop in to see these guys as often as we do, then they should be as much a part of your family as ours. Mayfair is one of my go to stops when we need a nice bottle of wine for an impromptu dinner party or a small bottle of something for a recipe; it is our stop for a reward after shopping at Safeway. The staff is always friendly and helpful; I have never been steered wrong by a wine suggestion (their Mom and Pop Vineyards wine is tops) or a new beer suggestion. They have a nice selection of just about everything and the prices are not outrageous. You might even get lucky and walk in when they are having a sampling. I was inspired to write this review because yesterday I was steered away from BL Lime (said it had a fake lime taste), they double checked in the back for the husband's request of a wine that was empty on the shelf, and as we checked out they offered me a free lime that was in better shape than the one I had at home. In the same parking lot as the Mayfair King Soopers, Mayfair Liquors is a medium sized neighborhood liquor store. They fair well on price, selection and customer service. Each time I've been in the staff knows where everything is, can answer a question and is happy to help out in any way they can. I was able to find a few things not available elsewhere here, so that keeps me coming back to browse. The store is well organized and well stocked. There are some deals to be had if you are a patient shopper. Also good, is parking in a private lot right in front of the store. Keep up the good work Mayfair Liquors. read more

Reps from Odell Brewing were doing a tasting and I was reminded why I always liked Odell beers. This place has a great beer selection - plus their staff is knowledgable and friendly. I used to stop here on the way home from work. You know, after a long day of work, you sometimes want to indulge in a beverage to relax, instead of hitting the gym. So convenient for me. And they carried Ace Perry Cider, which is probably my favorite go-to cider due to it's light/clean taste and relatively low carb content (for being a cider). I don't enjoy beer at all, so hard cider is my equivalent. I stopped by here to grab another 6 pack of my cider. Only to find out they had stopped carrying it. Sadness. Horrible sadness. Our absolute favorite liquor store! My boyfriend and I frequent Mayfair Liquors a few times a week (ok, sometimes daily) not only because its right up the street from our place, but also because of the amazing wine selection, great prices and friendly, knowledgeable staff. They have a great selection of affordable everyday wines that is always evolving and growing. Keep an eye out for "New Item" and "Staff Favorite" labels littered throughout the shelves. Every time I think we have drank through the sparkling wine section at Mayfair, a new item comes along to tempt us! We have never been disappointed with any staff recommendations, so don't hesitate to ask for some suggestions if you're feeling a bit indecisive that day. Ahhhhh, good place to go if you're looking for the hooch! I just moved here from NC so I'm not used to having to go to the liquor store for wine. Instead, I would go to the supermarket buy a frozen pizza, tomatoes, wine and call it a party. Luckily this place is in the same shopping center as the King Soopers so I just have to walk over when in need of the vino. I went on Friday night and the only thing better than their selection of wine and beer was they had wine and tequila tasting going on. Buying my hooch and catching a buzz? Priceless. read more

My wife and I used to live right across the street from here, and it's awesome! They have a great selection and they're super friendly. The store is dog-friendly too, which is great for us. They have a small selection of cigars. The selection's okay, but it's no walk-in humidor or anything. Highly recommended! read more

I frequent Mayfair. I Have lived in the neighborhood 22 years. I called today to see if they had Whistle Pig whiskey. They did, in fact they said the had 3 bottles of the 15 year in inventory. $226. At first, I was misunderstood and they thought I wanted all three. When I assured them I only wanted one, they wanted to confirm the inventory. At one point in the conversation they said this was for special customers. I've been a customer for 22 years! After looking in the cellar they could not locate the bottle. Odd and Unfortunate. Argonaut did not have the 15 year, but did have a 12! I've been a fan and could always count on Mayfair for good service and special selection. Not sure I'm special enough to shop there. Also not sure how many of their customers are willing to drop $200 bucks for a bottle of whiskey. I'll think twice next time. read more

While this liquor store may have a wide assortment of alcohol, the manager is extremely rude! I had my wallet stolen with my debit card. Someone went into Mayfair Liquors and purchase over $150 worth of goods. I went into the store to find out how that had happened. Don't they check IDs? Wouldn't they look at the signature (especially on a transaction over $100 and see that the two didn't match). The manager told me I was being rude to ask and told me to leave. I then called the police to see if I was correct in assuming that this should have been done. The officer told me that, in fact, they should be checking IDs and the matching signature. She told me to tell the manager, so he could inform his employees to be more careful. Obviously, as long as they make the money, that was not his problem. read more

Maybe it's the fact I lived 2 blocks way but this place is great. Friday evening there's usually a tasting of some kind, beer, wine, whiskey, tequila... everyone is friendly and knowledgeable. Need a good cheap wine - they can suggest one. They sold me on a Box wine that everyone at my party loved (some more than others...) Good selection of beers from near and far, not the biggest by far but all the major brands and a lot of the local flavors. Not much in 6 pack cans, which isn't a big deal but I like that for Jazz in the Park, but minor. And even though they are small in comparison to the warehouse places, wine and liquor prices are the same and sometimes better. Bombay, Grey Goose, even the JD was better price than the King Soopers place in Glendale and FAR cheaper than the ripoff at Target. read more

Fast service.....they open registers anytime there is more than 2 people waiting. Constantly stocking their shelves and people are VERY helpful, almost too at times. Not that big an issue when you are in a rush I can tell you. TONS of variety......cheap to expensive especially the red wines. Love what they have in the corner section avail for when you want to treat yourself. Lots of specials and their mobile app offers some decent rewards. Decent......they could be better as I buy a lot from them and would expect more stuff based on that. Overall though this is my place and not because it's right down the street.
