Inn at Clearwater Pond - Relax in our very spacious Family Room

The innkeeper was very friendly and personable and I highly recommend staying here if you are visiting the area. The main building has four guest quarters on the second floor. We had a HUGE room complete with sitting area, large windows and a spacious adjoining bathroom. The rest of the main building consisted of a large entry room, receiving room with lots of Vermont products for sale, kitchen, dining, game room, and a larger family type room. The whole house was surrounded by deep wrap around porches. There is also a cottage with two additional guest quarters, barns, a screened gazebo, a swimming pond full of frogs, horses, and some additional outbuildings. The property backs up to Quechee Gorge. Breakfast was different and very tasty each day. The first day was a spinach and egg dish, served with granola, fruit, coffee and yogurt. The second day was stuffed baked french toast with the same accompaniments. The innkeeper made reservations for us for dinner the second night we were there, just another great touch. The decor of the rooms was a little more modern than most B&Bs and I rather enjoyed it. Our room was outfitted with two nice leather chairs with ottomans, a substantial king sized bed with white, red and black linens, and some interesting artwork (little pewter and copper figurines on a shelf, etc). Such a nice time, I think we will splurge next summer at full price to get a weekend away here.

Best of all were her delicious homemade breakfast, made with love you could taste! At the end of the trip we felt like we had spent the weekend with family. We will be returning soon!

Modern, attractive and updated rooms with a desk, sitting chair, Lavazza coffee machine in the room. Pros: - For returning Dartmouth alumni, you can choose to write an index card to hang on the board across from the elevator to connect with fellow classmates in town - Room was clean, spacious and very comfortable - Parking garage about 2 blocks away for valet parking available - Pine restaurant at the hotel had really good, big salads Cons: - Had a brief technical glitch where we were able to get into our room, but then both of our keys stopped working after we left. The front desk quickly made us new keys - no problems after that. Notes: - Second floor room can have a bad view - roof with air conditioning unit and wood wall view - You can pay to eat at the Dartmouth dining hall - The Class of 1953 Commons. It is open breakfast, lunch, dinner, and late night. It is all you can eat with various food stations.

Lobby was extra festive for the holidays. Service was very helpful and friendly. And the restaurant is open late (10pm) which I appreciate after a late check in. If you are looking for a real Vermont experience, The Moose Meadow Lodge is a great start to the journey. This beautiful home with cabin vibes has brilliant decor and character throughout the property. The amenities are far beyond what you'll find listed, thanks to the selfless owners, Greg and Willie. At the very least, you'll have a very comfortable stay. Greg and Willie will go above and beyond to make sure your overall visit to Vermont is worthwhile. We decided to travel to Vermont last minute for New Year's Eve. We booked the Moose Meadow Lodge on the drive up. We were welcomed with open arms. Greg showed us around the property, the lobby shop, brought us to our room and explained all the unique and exciting details of the house and property. We woke up each morning to a beautifully prepared breakfast. Since our trip was so last minute, we didn't have much of a plan. Greg was kind enough to sit down with us and help us map out our entire journey. He even helped us map an alternate route home that was more scenic. We didn't get to everything on the list, but everything he mentioned was perfect. You can tell he has a genuine love and passion for what he does. His advice and planning alone made the experience excellent. I can go on and on about the perfect stay we had. You can tell Greg and Willie are very passionate about what they do. You will never experience this kind of attention and care at a hotel. We are already planning our next stay here.

The day before, my husband picked up a big 22-pound bird that had just been butchered a few days ago. It was so fresh that I had a few tiny feathers floating around in my brine. It was so fresh that I could just barely separate the skin from the breast meat to rub in the butter and fresh thyme, which the Girls also so generously provided. It was so fresh I didn't really have to tie together the legs or pin down the wings. It was so fresh that you could *taste* it. And this was (or had been) one healthy turkey! You could tell by the quality of the skin, the texture of the uncooked meat, the size of the bones!!! Man, this turkey had been doing some weight-bearing exercises or something! Huge leg bones. Wings you could make a meal of. I can't wait to taste the broth. Yet the meat was as tender as it was flavorful. Now, with fresh turkey from a farm, you're gonna want to brine it. My 22-lb bird fit in the brining bag from the grocery store beautifully. I put in 1.5 cups of salt, a cup of sugar, and about 2 gallons of water, and I let her sit for about 18 hours. I rinsed her real well; patted her dry; stuffed her with onion, carrots, and celery; covered her with a pound of bacon; wrapped her up tightly in tinfoil; and then I let her roast at 425 degrees for about 3 hours, unwrapped her, and let her brown for about 30 more. Perfect. Tomorrow I'm making turkey pot pie and turkey stock--with locally grown carrots, onions, garlic, and celery. I love knowing that my turkey had been well-cared for and loved, that she is about as organic as you can get, and that her purchase supported my favorite local farm girls. And my guests loved that tender, tasty turkey.

Prices were high, as they should be, but convenience should be elevated as well. Good luck to them as they sort these issues out.

Overall clean, neat, and looks brand new. Love the rustic design everywhere. The dorm room, which is where I slept, is on the second floor and quite spacious and it's nice they didn't cram more bunk beds. It sleeps 8 but it was just me and another person. It comes with a balcony with a view of the pond and forest, a dining table, a ceiling fan, split hvac system, and sitting area with chairs. Within the same building, downstairs is a mini-kitchen (no stove), 2 separate showers, the check-in office, and a private bedroom. The co-owner/wife is really sweet, friendly, and warm. Too bad I didn't have time to interact more. The Lodge (the common area) is a brief walk outside to get to it. It also has a rustic look. Clean and pretty cool. There's a laundry room, small full kitchen, 2 mini fridges, a full bathroom, a dining table, 2 sitting areas, books, board games, a guest photo album (love the idea), and a guest art book. Breakfast comes with your stay but it's not available till 8 am and I had to leave before then. There's also coffee and tea. Quiet hours begin at 9 pm and end at 6 am. I was surprised by 9 pm because that's too early but that's just me. The last 2 hostels I came from start quiet hours at 10 pm. The only complaint I have is the blanket given for the dorm beds is not sufficient for Vermont's cold temperatures during the night. A duvet will likely be a better option since it's easier to wash. And it didn't help that the other person I was sharing the room with likes to sleep cold (I say that because I saw that 1 window was slightly open and the ceiling fan was running). In short, just book a stay here! I doubt you'll have any regrets.

Additionally, bring boots!
