They also talk politics quite a bit, so if that isn't your bag, you'll want to give them space. Otherwise, it was a nice experience and my dog had a good time.

In the lot where there's the boat launch, you have to pay. The parking is free everywhere else. There's a 2 mile walking/biking trail with some beautiful views. The trail is very heavily forested and can be a little humid because there aren't too many breezes along the way. We did the one mile loop and had a great time. The park was immaculate. We were there on a weekday and the park was pretty crowded. So, I would imagine that it can get really crowded on the weekends. Be sure to check out the big swing along the trail. It was great!

Now there is a lot of amenities here at the aquatic center but the two big slides in the corner are little rocky. We decided to go down the waterslides when we first got there and noticed that both have flaws. There are wasp nests underneath the slides so you do see tons of wasp flying around. The swirl slide we took moves really slow so you have to push yourself at some point to keep moving forward down the slide. People were coming down quickly after you would get off the slides they got kind of close to landing in the water by us. The straight down slide you catch air midway, especially for a little kids you kinda stopped, touching the slide at one point. Now for the smaller kid area it was perfect for my five year old. They had little slides over there and even a medium kid slide as soon as you walk up nice splash pad a lot more slow pace and relaxing. they do have lifejackets there if needed for children. They also have a café where they serve Domino's Pizza and other snacks and drink options which we did get some Gatorade's and a whole Domino's Pizza, and for the price it wasn't bad.

We paid $10 for the special ghouls night out session... but I've heard you can do walk ins, too. There are shelves full of all sorts of figures and plates and other pottery to choose from. The prices are on the bottom-and that covers the paint and the firing. My friend and I had a table to ourselves-and could spread out our snacks and drinks (they had cupcakes, cookies and small cans of soda available but you can also byob and foods. We brought charcuterie items, champagne and pumpkin doughnuts). It was such a relaxing and happy experience-painting, snacking and chatting. The staff checks on you. You can also go ask for more paint at any time. My spider won't win any awards-but he sure was fun to decorate! I can't wait to see how he'll look after firing. I'm told the colors will darken. It should be ready for pickup in about a week. I'm told they have art classes, day camps and summer camps and that you can hold parties here. North City Park has a nice walking trail that winds across the park's whopping 9 acres. There is a mini public library stand with the "take a book, leave a book" option. There is plenty of parking and lots of trees that provide patrons with plenty of shade. North City Park's facilities managed to keep over 25 5 year olds and 6 year olds entertained and moving around for over a half hour without surfing YouTube on their tablets, so I have to say the park was a success!
