It's been a few days that I've actually…read moreruminated on this review because I just can't believe I made such a dumb mistake and tried a new nail salon when I was happy with my original place down the block... WHAT WAS I THINKING?!?! I received a very mediocre pedicure which is now chipping, but that's not even the problem. The problem was the gel manicure... Ladies,do not come here please. Save your nails. I ended up filing my own nails right in front of them because they couldn't do a basic file correctly. So, two people did my nails, first a man and then the same woman who did my pedicure. When we sat down I let him know the person who previously did my gels (& out on maternity leave) put three coats of gel, which means it's thicker... however he didn't understand. Then the worst happened... He soaked my nails for about 3mins then used his own nails to PEEL OFF MY GELS which took off my regular nail!!!! HE PEELED MY NAIL OFF. I wanted to cry. It's now so short and the tissue under my ring finger is popping out and hurts. He also acted like he didn't do anything and I had to grab my hand away. I cannot believe I didn't just get up and walk out at that point! Then I asked him if he can soak it longer and he did, however he continued to use his own nails to peel my gels! basically what they tell you not to do -- he did! I was so upset and now my nails are even thinner from gel damage AND HIS NAILS. WTF WTF WTF. Secondly, he was "cutting my cuticles" which basically was him running a cuticle cutter around my skin and cutting absolutely nothing. NOTTTHH-IIINNNNGG. The cuticle cutter was spotless. What the hell was he doing?! I really just blame myself for sitting through that... Finally the woman took over and she did a really horrible job... she actually spilled gel polish onto my skin which created an air pocket, I had to show her and she just said "oh..." and filed it down. My nails right now are lumpy and lop sided (see photo) and I'm going on vacation this weekend and have to do them over. Again, I filed my own nails in front of her... she did nothing. I can't believe I was such an idiot to get my nails done at a new place a week before my vacation and birthday. And of course the new place was a total nightmare / waste of money. Now, my hands are short and stumpy and look like a child who painted their own nails. it's so gross I don't even want to post a photo b/c I'm so embarrassed. UGH. I'm an idiot, I deserve this!!!!

Once in the room, the masseuse didn't communicate, not even asking if there was anywhere I wanted to focus on or if I was comfortable. This led to the massage being not great. I had to keep asking for more pressure and the most pressure provided was actually on my feet rather than anywhere else. I also hated that she went from my feet then straight to massaging my face and head! It was more of an uncomfortable experience rather than enjoyable. This was also a VERY expensive experience so it's quite unfortunate that this was what it amounted to. I won't be back.

We got greeted with mimosas that were delicious, fresh robes and towels and started in the steam room.
