I have missed my short hair and was inspired to get a "bixie" from a pro rather than attempt it myself. Adrianna worked her magic and gave me something I am so excited to show off! On Thursday Dec 2nd I booked an appointment on her website for an opening on Sat Dec 4th at 11:45am for a root touch-up. Seemed super easy and was looking forward to the appt. She is closed Thursday and Fri, but I received an automated confirmation Friday evening Dec 3rd. I left a message. I still hadn't been contacted personally through any other means. I cleared my schedule. Sat morning I prepped my hair as requested, only to receive and automated cancellation 45 minutes before the appointment STILL without any personal communication. The commute would have been 30-40 minutes, so I'm glad I hadn't already left because I would have been even more upset. When you establish a 6 hour cancellation policy for your customers and give them this kind of runaround as an independent worker, it looks extremely unprofessional. As the owner of your own business, you are 100% responsible. It shows lack of consideration and respect for my time. Had you made ANY effort to communicate scheduling issues, I might have considered doing business with you in the future. Luckily, I was able to to find another salon who was available to provide me the same service today on short notice. read more

I love getting my shag hair cuts by the magical, fun, and creative Adriana at Washed Out Salon! She is already so skilled from her many years of experience, but she also continuously hones her craft by staying up-to-date with shifting hair trends, key product knowledge, and top stylist educators/influencers. Both of her studios are decorated in a fun way and bonus--if you love pets, hers can come out to say hi. She is really mindful about inclusivity overall and Covid safety too, so you will always feel comfortable. I love how she does dry cuts and quick styling, so you have an efficient appointment and continue on with your day looking like your best self (no requirement to re-wash, blow-dry, and have your hair curled like a poodle). Super helpful if you have long hair. She is also such a joy in general and I always walk away with cool recommendations (music, podcasts, etc) after her appointments. This place has potential. But, they lack patience and sympathy for people with disabilities. It's very difficult to commit to the appointment slot, when you are in LA traffic, especially coming from the San Fernando Valley. Besides that, the haircuts are great. Except that if you want a taper or fade, you have to go to another barber after your haircut at washed out. Which means paying for two different haircuts at two different locations. I just finished Chemo & Radiation. My hair is growing back & decided to give up on the wigs and beanies etc and finally just be me. So I booked an apt with Adriana after getting a recommendation from an acquaintance and seeing her "awesome" reviews on Style Seat. I was so excited. Finally my first official cut with the little hair I did have I decided on a pixie cut. My apt was set for Friday March 24th 2017 I had received a confirmation email and was set! March 23rd I received a txt from Adriana at 3:32pm saying that she needed to reschedule because she has to attend a friends memorial service but she'll take me Saturday the 25th or the 26th. Ok first of all, I thought really? You didn't know you had this going on already? But I get it, things come up. I replied and asked if we can aim for Saturday morning & also noted that I'm available any other time. NO RESPONSE. So I gave it some time txt her Friday morning asking if we were able to shoot for Saturday after all & she responded "I'm sorry, I think you'll have to find another stylist." Mmmm?????? What??? Seriously? You tell me this noooowww? & you're saying I can't go with you ever?! LOL this is crazy! She completely wasted my time and was so unprofessional about it. If you book her watch out she might cancel last min. I'd Give Her NO STARS if I could. read more

She's been cutting my hair for 2 and a half years now and every time she takes scissors to my hair, I'm so happy with the results. I've had trouble finding someone who understands what to do with thick, wavy, and sometimes unruly hair. She does an amazing job with a dry cut - every curl falls just the right way. When I'm hesitant about what I want to do for a cut, she's really helpful and honest and lets me know what she thinks will or won't work. And I completely trust her, given my experience (and seeing what she's done with my friends' locks too). On top of her talent, she's super friendly and fun to chat with while she's working away. I haven't had any trouble with parking the two times I've visited her downtown, but even if I had to pay for a spot, it would totally be worth it. She's the best! read more
