Chips, drink, and salsas!
James S.

This is my first time at this establishment. Dinner today starts with chips and two salsas, one mild and one with a bit of a bite. The corn chips! OMG, the chips are fabulous. For a traditional drink, I go with the El Patron Marguerita. My entreè is Camarones Rancheros. I won't describe it here, except to say I love shrimp and the dish is fantastic! The whole time, I am enjoying dinner, and there is a variety of Mexican music playing thru out the restaurant. The service is personal and engaging. I will definitely be returning to this place. You should check it out if you haven't already!!

I had Chili Colorado and Cindy had the Pick 2 Combo Small Portion option. Beef was super tender.

Best Mexican food we've had since moving to Lincoln in November 2022. Large portions and the 16oz Golden Margarita ($2 off on Sundays) was a strong pour and tasty.

Honestly our family was surprised and delighted by how good the food is here! Like we had easily one of the best margaritas we've had in a long the (VIP margarita). Our kids basic cheese quesadilla was sooo good. The chicken nuggets in their meal were here hand breaded whole breast. My wife and I had some of the large meals. The white crème shrimp salsa was to die for. Here's for the technical details. We stopped by on a Saturday late lunch and we're greeted with a clean, open and well lit restaurant. The staff was prompt and respectable in getting us seated and meeting our initial needs. The menu is colorful and we'll documented including translations and explanations of the various food types and names. The menu also featured color photos of the various key dishes that really helped in selling me a delicious dish. The children's menu also had lots of kid friendly options both Mexican and American offerings. Really I'd recommend to anyone. Chances are I'll stop here next time I'm on the north side of town too. The family is happy, I'm happy.

Mazatlan is far too good for a subpar city like Lincoln. Nebraska doesn't deserve a Mexican place as quality as Mazatlan. I unfortunately was stuck in Lincoln for 2 days and went here for dinner both times. Amazing margaritas so you can drink enough to forget that you're in Nebraska. 10/10 would return if I'm unfortunate enough to end up in Lincoln again.

really? this is $10?

Ick. No no no, this is NOT Mexican food. This is Taco Bell-esque but 4x the price. If you have been to Casa Bonita in Denver, this is a step below... and Casa Bonita is disgusting. I got a taco and a chicken enchilada. The taco completely disintegrated the moment I picked it up. The chicken enchilada was very, very dry. All the cheese on top did not disguise how truly awful it was. I ordered the flan "to go" and didn't check to see what it looked like until I got in the car. The "whipped cream" that was supposed to be on top was actually straight cream poured from the carton (see picture). The flan itself was hard and chewy. I took one bite and threw it away. I felt bad for the cleaning staff in my hotel who had to see that in the trash can. I'm sure they were horrified. My fiance was so disappointed with his meal. He was grumpy for the rest of the night, and the worst part of it all is that for two very shitty entrees and one inedible piece of flan it came to about $30. The waitstaff was nice, but there is no way this is 5 star Mexican food. I'm sorry that you have to put up with this crap, Lincoln. Yelp definitely steered me wrong this time.

In 40 plus years of eating Mexican food this was the best meal ever. Had the Molcajete, a substantial meal of crab legs, large shrimp, chicken, steak, mushrooms, peppers and onions served in a large rock bowl with rice and beans for less than $17. My wife had the Tampiquena, a skirt steak and shrimp dish with a great cream sauce for less than $16. The restaurant had a nice set of outdoor tables which was great since we had our dog with us. Service was great On a return trip I had the Burrito RICO and my wife had the enchiladas a la creme which were both excellent. Again we had our dog with us and the waiter cleaned off an outdoor table so we didn't have to put our dog in a hot car. Love this place!

Went on Cinco de Mayo, the restaurant was very busy but service was great and the food was even better. Definitely recommend.

This was the best sit-down Mexican restaurant that I ate at in Lincoln. Everyone's plates were clean. Food was fresh and service was great.

I ordered the carne asada. Had a small fopa on original plate but the staff made an amazing recovery. Needless it was amazing. I ate wayyyyy to much. Overall we parked right in front and the restaurant was warm, clean with a great Hispanic feel. Best mecixan we have had so far in lincoln.

Parking is shared parking. We were early for Sunday lunch…read more There are a mixture of booths and tables and we were attended to by our server Julio. We were seated immediately. And tended to. We were served chips and salsa. Those were made in the restaurant. Piping hot and delicious salsa. I got a mangonada margarita and a malcojete seafood. Mixture of seafood ( shrimp octopus and scallops in a hot spicy sauce with mixed vegetables- cauliflower, brocoli pepper, onions and mushrooms). My hubby got a margarita that was similar to a cadillac margarita. And carne asada. It was very chill and family friendly ; when we were there, some college kids were there in a group and they basically placed tables together to form a row for them. Highlu adaptable. Our food came delicious and piping hot. I loved my order of malcojete seafood. Flavour was fantastic. Shrimp octopus and scallops were very nicely done- succulent and juicy. Considering we are in the midwest- the seafood they cooked was fantastic. I would urge them to cut the pieces of octopus just a little larger. The scallops were small but delicious. It was a fantastic meal and Julio's service was wonderful. Hubby's carne asada was a little dry initially but Julio took notice and had the kitchen serve up a better piece. Wonderful service recovery. We will be back. This is truly one of the best mexican places we have been to here in Lincoln.

Had a lovely lunch with my wife today we wanted to eat light so we both ordered appetizers…read more I had the beef nachos margarita. They were really good. Loved the mixed cheese. Our waitress was nice and on the ball.

Stopped in at Las Margaritas with my brother and sister-in-law (Lincoln locals and big fans of this…read morespot). We were seated right away, and the server even knew my brother's drink and dinner order, which felt like VIP treatment. It's a cute, clean establishment, very on par with most Mexican restaurants in the area. Chips and salsa arrived quickly. The chips were standard, but the salsas were fresh and tasty, with both hot and mild options. We started with the cheese dip, which was a little runny, but I actually like it that way. It even had spinach in it, so we'll call that healthy. Our crew ordered everything from shrimp diablo to nachos to chicken ranchero, while I went for the number one combo with three tacos. The food came quickly and looked great, but my tacos didn't hold up. The shells gave out under the weight of the beef, which was a bit on the greasy side. Instant sog city. Sadness. I ended up making tostadas out of the wreckage with the help of some of the table chips. Overall, not a bad stop. The menu is big, the service is friendly, and there is plenty more to try. I would come back, but probably not for tacos.
