To start off. The chips and salza was good. The margaritas still need work, but the food is very well prepared and tasted delicious. The rice and beans were also very good. Literally stumbled upon this restaurant. It was a little hard to see because it's behind another building. Glad we found it the food was very good. As the four of us all got something different and they were all good! Quesadilla, ground beef enchiladas, chicken tostada, and the cheese enchiladas. All of us loved their beans and rice. The only disappointing thing is we love our chips and salsa. The chips could use some work as they weren't quite as fresh. They don't give you very much. However, you can order your second round on you. I do give an extra shout out for the service though! was absolutely great. I ordered a vegetarian burrito back in June. The vegetables inside were raw, and were not cooked. I bit into a cucumber that I expected to be soft and tender. It was hard and because of that, I suffered some pain and damage to my jaw. Not it is hard for me to sometimes chew or keep my mouth open for dental appointments. When I suggested getting the meal for me because of their "mistake and error", they did nothing. Since this happened, I vowed never to return to this establishment. I would avoid this restaurant until they admit their mistake and make things right. This was a huge blunder, and totally unexcusable. Since then I have also avoided cucumbers. The carrots were also not cooked tenderly like they should have been. Just a horrible experience. Stay away! read more

We were starving for a good steak. This was amazing. The service and servers were friendly. Seating was in a booth.. loved it. We ordered Menudo. That was authentic and delicious. I ordered a vegetarian rice platter and it too was HUGE and delicious. My brother inlaw got their steak and it was so delicious and flavorful. We ordered Margaritas and they were large and flavorful as well. The food here is very reasonably priced. If you are in the area DO GIVE IT A TRY. You won't be disappointed. read more

Staying at Casey's Riverside RV Park just outside of town. Too hot to cook so decided to order take out. Staff were all very pleasant. Unfortunately, when we got back to camp, I discovered a missing item (Chalupa). When I called they said it would be ready by the time I got there. I did not want to go back out so asked if they could just credit my card. This seemed like a foreign concept, but they eventually took my card and said they would credit me $3. Then we got to eat what we did receive. The Taquitos were sort of bland. I ordered ground beef when asked what kind of meat I wanted for my Grande combo (Chalupa, tamale, Chimichanga). What I got was...no Chalupa, pork (I think) tamale, and chicken Chimichanga. The tamale, rice and beans was good. The chicken in the Chimichanga was pretty flavorless. So it was a dark and stormy night in March. I'd just driven over the mountain pass in a snowstorm, and was tired and a bit on edge. I checked into the Best Western, and went looking for dinner (takeout, as this was during the pandemic). Many Oakridge options were closed, though Mazatlan appeared to be welcoming with some nice lights. I've been to Mazatalan (Sinaloa) several times, and this is no Sinaloa. But, for Oakridge, it was find. I had some green pork verde, tortillas, rice, beans, and maybe some other sides. It didn't knock my socks off, but the staff was friendly, and it was what I was hoping for. read more

Not bad and would rate 3.5 stars if able. Service was first rate and food was typical Mex-American. Salsa had good flavor but chips were a bit soft/bland. I had the Chimichanga and the meat was good as was the rice and beans. One way they could improve would be to serve homemade tortillas. As an FYI, the restroom was out of soap so would hope they would keep a better eye on that. read more

Prices doubled, menu cut, had a hard time finding anything I could eat on Keto, $22 plus their automatic fee. Asked for a bed of lettuce instead of rice, barely got any lettuce. My friend was horribly sick, vomiting, diahrrea, chills, sweats, very very sick for over 24 hours from his meal. Not going back. Been going there for many years. read more

So it was a dark night during COVID and severe forest fire season. We were on our way back from Crater Lake National Park. Most places along the way were closed or looked not welcoming on a late Monday night. Finally, we arrived at Mazatlan 30 min. before their closing time. The staff not only welcomed us, but they took excellent care of us. They recommended their favorite food and tortilla pairing - I had the Arroz Pollo with corn tortilla, hubby had 3 tacos with the recommended tortilla type to pair with the respective protein. Everything was very fresh and good. The tortilla pairings definitely made a big difference. My Arroz Pollo tasted significantly better with the corn tortilla. Moreover, their service was amazing. When they closed the door, we offered to pay early and finish eating ASAP. The staffing told us 'not to rush, enjoy the food' because it will take them more than an hour to clean up. When I went to the restroom, the staff stopped the cleaning task, apologized to me that she was occupying the restroom for cleaning and waited for me outside. I'd give this restaurant, the food and staff 6 stars if I can. read more

We came here because it was recommended to us by best western . We were going to Lee's gourmet but they were closed on Monday. This is a legitimate Mexican restaurant. The food was authentic and delicious. Our server was extremely nice and another male server also constantly filled our glasses with water. The food was not too salty or greasy. The carne Asada and beef fajitas were tender . Yes the benches need some updating but the painted art on the wall and Mexican music compensates for it . read more

Ok so..... the food is ok...... being originally from So Cal I have enjoyed great Mexican food... I ordered the super burrito asked for green sauce instead of red (which is normal for me) server let me know it was a additional $2.00 which I was fine with but.. not a good choice the sauce has very little flavor so you might want to try something else or somewhere else. *I am constantly hearing a microwave door close which is never a good sign!! We are traveling through the state and happened to spy this restaurant from the main road when no one else was open. Holy cow! The chips are fresh, the salsa is spicy and delicious. I had a Chile relleno and my husband had shredded beef tacos. We are from CA and used to great Mexican food and were blow away with the taste and quality. The rice and beans were to die for! A more difficult to find restaurant but a long time staple in the community. Very good tasting food and very friendly atmosphere and servers. Since Covid however the price has gone way up making this once frequented establishment now unaffordable. read more

Lady was rude after we told her we didn't order the food the way we wanted it and she just shrugged her shoulders and was like well that's how it is. Besides the horrible customer service the food was nasty. The salsa had almost a whole tomato in it. The tortillas from my tacos were raw dipped in oil. Carnitas were not shredded, cut into cubes bigger than ice cubes. It looked like whoever put our food together hates their job. Do not recommend this place. read more

My buddy got the chicken mole and really liked it. I ordered the chile colorado and liked the sauce, rice and beans alot. The beef was OK. Personally, I enjoy and expect nice chunks of chuck roast for my chile colorado. The pieces in Mazatlans version were some other cut. They were lean and OK - just not what I really love. Service was excellent. The only hiccup was at the end because if you have a chip credit card you need to go up to the register for some reason. So, the credit card just sat on the table for about 15 minutes until we got the waitresses attention and learned the rules (which were posted but we missed it). We didn't get any drinks but they had quite an extensive menu of tequila drinks and other drink specials. This was a way nicer restaurant than what we expected for little Oakridge. read more

The food was amazing... They have the best Chips. Warm, thin and crispy! The salsa was amazing. I liked both their regular salsa and their mild salsa had awesome flavor! Quite a pleasant surprise. We were on the 58 driving east. Stopped in Oakridge for gas and I asked the guy who pumped our gas at the Chevron station if there was anywhere good to eat. For those of you who have not been to Oregon, you might be surprised to learn that you are not allowed to pump your own gas. Job creation, I think. The station attendant suggested the Mexican place across the street. Either that or McDonald's. We opted for the non chain restaurant. Cheesy vibrant decor, puffy vinyl booths, hand painted murals. The food was good. The margarita tasty. The salsa spicy. The veggies in our fajitas were fresh and the onions nicely caramelized. Service very friendly and the prices reasonable. $21 bucks for veggies fajitas, one margarita, iced tea, and extra guacamole and sour cream. Tax and tip included. If you are passing through Oakridge, OR on the 58, eat here. read more

This is a simple little Mexican restaurant, and your LAST CHANCE for decent food if you're heading toward Crater Lake. We were just passing through and a local at the gas station recommended we come here. It was a good recommendation. The waitress was very pleasant and helpful. I asked for a vegetarian suggestion and she guided me towards the veggie burrito which was delicious. Lots of fresh veggies, and not buried in sauce and cheese like you sometimes find. The chips and salsa are excellent. I have to remove 1 star because the joint is in desperate need of a make-over. The bathrooms are very poorly light and need refurbishing. read more

As an Oakridge local, it's always a little tough providing people with recommendations on where to eat in town. Mazatlan is one recommendation that always returns with good reviews. I have never left dissatisfied in the quality of the food that I was served. Honestly, the place used to be better back when it was known as Rosalina's but it still holds up against any Mexican restaurant in the valley. Be forewarned, the interior is a bit dingy. If you're snooty, this may not be the place for you. That being said; the food is fantastic, the service is always friendly and the food comes out pretty quick. Even if there is a slight wait for your food to come, no biggie, they keep the chips and salsa coming in the meantime! read more

We stopped here to eat lunch on the way to Crater Lake. It had good reviews, but now I"m not sure why. I"m a pretty healthy eater, but this place didn't have great food in my opinion. I had a taco salad which I thought was safe. I was going to try the fish tacos but they were fried..so eh. The guys seemed ok with what they got. We all had margaritas, but I couldn't taste the alcohol. The service was good though, very friendly people, and it was nice to sit outside as well. Chips and salsa were ok too. In the evening though I just had stomach issues..and I think it was the beans here...hard to say. I had wine that evening too. However, it really messed me up..So, can't say I'd go back. Not sure why it got such great reviews in retrospect. read more
