I ate here last year so this review is from a slightly rusty memory. More like 3.5 stars...solid, upscale food with the price tag to match. There's so much on offer to eat in the area, I just don't feel like upscale dining is worth the price point. Go across the park to Darlinghurst/Surry Hills, go down the street to Chinatown, go to the mall a block down to get the food court...Maybe it's me who was out of place in this setting, but this place seems a little, well, out of place, despite similarly upscale offerings at the hotels on the park boundaries. The views of the park from ground level are somewhat obscured by bus-stops and stone walls, so it's not even an exceptional spot worth the extra costs.
Food was good, though. I seem to recall it being some version of new Italian, with meat, fish, risottos, and sides like cheese plates on offer. We took the remaining fruits and crackers from the cheese plate into the park after to feed the possums. That was probably the highlight of this dining experience. Not as a slight to the food or service, but I just don't always want fancy food. If you go here with family and they foot the bill, it's worth a try. read more
