Large Scrumptious salad from Mazzio's Salad Bar.
Yolanda S.

MOVE OVER NEWK'S! THERE'S A NEW HEAVYWEIGHT SALAD CONTENDER IN TOWN AND ITS MAZZIO'S! I had been searching for a restaurant with a salad bar and I thought there wasn't one in the area until I walked into Mazzio's Pizza and saw several folk crowded around the salad bar stuffing the life out the salad containers. And the salads looked very good. So I ordered a large. It was $9.98. I tipped $2.00 which brought my total to a little over $12. Mazzio's had a very nice salad bar. However it was sort of small. You only have one type of salad green and one type of fresh meat which was cubed ham. They had hard bacon bits. There were fresh eggs and chopped tomatoes. Red onions and peppercini peppers. There were green and black olives which was a pleasant surprise. Raisins and dried onions. Bell peppers and pickled okra. I was so happy to find this tiny but hearty salad buffet. There were also several different salad dressings. The only unpleasant aspect of the restaurant was the two young people up front never smiled. They had no customer service skills whatsoever. I take it this is their first job and they haven't learned to be pleasant yet. Also, the cashier stood over me and stared while I signed the receipt and wrote in the tip section. This made me uncomfortable because I feel she was focused very hard on the tip. And I felt pressured to tip. Overall the price was very good for the super large portion I received and I will be back.

The service was great. The late night vibe was cool. Good music chill time. The late night vibe is great for people on their 20s and 30s who are looking to chill with music, cocktails, and pizza.

He insisted that he move our tables to be one big table. I told him it was okay because I didnt want to bother him, but he insisted, saying he wanted me and my little nephew to be comfortable. He handed us the menus, and we decided to order three different pizzas and the Pretzel Bites for the appetizer. The first pizza was the Three Little Pigs, a delicious combination of Italian sausage, pepperoni, applewood bacon, fresh basil, marinara, and mozzarella. This one was by far my favorite. The bacon and sausage had a spicy flavor, and the mozzarella was thick and gooey. One bite and the cheese would stretch for days. The other two, the Pepperoni and Chicken Alfredo, were right up there, too. I like that the Chicken Alfredo tasted more like a pizza than not. It had all the combinations of a Chicken Alfredo pasta dish, but with the spices and marinara sauces, it was a sweet combination of both, but it was more of a pizza flavor, which I just loved. I can't leave off the Pretzel Bites; I liked that the cheese and mustard were mixed, bringing on a very favorable dip. Now I must tell you this: the pizzas are supposed to be a personal pan--ten inches with six slices. The hostess warned me these pizzas aren't your regular-sized personal pan. He was right. The pizzas are huge, the slices even bigger. It's a deep-dish pizza with layers of meat, cheese, sauces, and veggies. So you can order three like I did, or just order one and keep coming back, trying different pizzas, which is a great idea considering the place is so inviting. One more thing: You can eat inside or outside on the patio or the lawn with the large TV screen. It's a very relaxed place, and they have a band on certain nights. I can tell you for sure that the hostess, the food, and the ambiance make this place what it is, very inviting.
