I had a patio paver repair that the original contractor was not going to fix under warranty-- they said it was due to gophers, which I was willing to believe because we have seen gopher activity around the yard. I went to MB Paving to get a competitive bid since I was going to have to pay out of pocket. Jose came quickly and, even without lifting a single paver, said this is NOT gopher damage. Then he pulled a few pavers and proved his theory. Long story short, I went back to the original contractor and they did cover the repair after all (and did an excellent job, in fact). We reached out to MB Paving when we needed a concrete slab/foundation for a large prefabricated storage shed we purchased. Jose came promptly on a Saturday morning to check out the corner in our backyard, measured, and e-mailed us a detailed bid the next week. He gave us a few options and his recommendations on what would work best for drainage and prevention of water seeping into the shed. We were satisfied with the cost (seemed competitive and most importantly competent and professional). The walkway past five of the units in our condo complex had been tilted and broken by a neighbor's tree roots. On top of that, the original construction had an awkward step-up-step-down landing in front of each doorway, making it impassible to wheelchairs or strollers. MB Paving's prices were competitive with a couple other bids we got, but they were set apart by the professionalism of the owner Jose. He was courteous, and clearly understood the nature of the job and the best way to solve for it. We worked together on a plan to create a rolling walkway that rose to each doorway without covering the foundation vents. He consulted me on every decision from color & finish to drainage. ***Update*** After a year and a half, the concrete looks horrible. It's not cracked, just badly discolored. Not a single solid Grey, but lots of swirls and not pleasant to the eye. Considering painting it which just sounds silly. We had Jose pour a concrete walkway at the side of our house. The finished product looked great, however after a few days we noticed a few minor cracks on one slab. He responded immediately and spent 6 additional hours removing the cracked area and repoured it for us. He was extremely professional and courteous and encourage you to support this honest company. read more

I called to get an estimate Jose responded in a timely manner came on time to give me an estimate , i told him that I measured the area and it is around 2600-2700 sf so he didn't measure it again he left and said he will send me an estimate the next day which never happened so I emailed them they said he will in couple days it's been more than a week never heard back , I guess if u can not give a simple estimate or the job is too big for you at least out of courtesy say something , definitely not using this company . read more

Let me start this by saying, I found them on yelp. No one I know has used them or knows of this company I was not paid to write this review nor asked to. I had a patio that was partially finished and needed to get the rest done. I needed drains and it had to tie in with the existing patio. I searched yelp for concrete businesses and MB Paving was one of the top 3 that came up. They had great reviews and their work looked good in the pictures so I messaged them. They responded very quickly. About 15-20 minutes. I mentioned what I needed and later that afternoon Jose came by to look at the project. He was very polite. He left and within an hour he sent me the estimate. Due to Covid-19 I have been out of work for awhile and the estimate he gave was a bit more than I could afford. When Jose heard this he immediately was willing to work with me because he knew how bad I wanted to get this project done. We agreed and we set a date a week later to start. He ended up calling me 2 days before asking if I would like him and his crew to start the work sooner. I said yes. Jose and his guys showed up 5 minutes early. They instantly got to work and I very quickly knew I hired the right people. They worked hard and very fast. They started at 8:30am and left my house at 4:30pm. They removed my weeds, removed, fixed, and installed drainage, leveled the ground, laid down rebar, poured 570 sq ft of concrete, smoothed it and cleaned everything up. All in 8 hours. I was amazed watching them and thoroughly impressed with their efficiency and manner. When they left I could not tell they were here even though they took out a pile of dirt from my backyard that measured 15' long by 5' wide by 4 ' high. They removed it all by hand with shovels and shoveled it into the dump truck as well. Jose is the kindest, honest, most friendly person I have met as a contractor. I will never use anyone else again for any concrete needs. There aren't enough nice words I could use to describe him, his employees, and their business. If you have a small project don't even bother ! I got an outrageous quote based on a picture with out even actually measuring or seeing the actual job. I responded asking a question and never heard back from them . They must have a lot of business! Funny thing is that once I asked for the quote I got a response with in minutes then the actual quote at 11pm at night but once I got the quote and I responded all I heard was crickets and of course once I posted this there was a response once again with in minutes. read more
