If you're looking for great customer service then look elsewhere.... We were looking for live music venues in the area and this place popped up for us. We walked in a few minutes before 8pm, to a nearly empty establishment with ZERO greeting from any staff member. Honestly, even a "hello, we will be right with you" would have sufficed... We found a table off to the side and sat there for about 15 minutes before anyone came up to us. After some time passed, a gentleman walked over and asked if we needed anything. After we received our drinks (they were really good btw), service was non existent again. We were going to order pizza but decided it just wasn't worth it. A group of 8-10 people walked in and we soon watched them walk right out because they were told by the female bartender to stay seated and not come to the bar for orders. I guess after waiting they eventually gave up and walked out. We saw another couple do the same...money walking right out of the doors. After that, she approached us but we had already decided to go eat elsewhere. As far as the live music, it was okay. Despite the poor service, we do plan on returning to hear some of the other bands, we just know not to expect anything spectacular from the customer service.

    The best company!

I'm so glad my friend brought me here. It was a really pleasant discovery! I didn't know what to expect but we had such a nice experience. First of all, it's a real speakeasy! The bartenders are dressed to the nines in 20's wardrobe. They have live music! We really enjoyed it. The drinks were awesome! But my favorite was the arugula prosciutto pizza! Wow! I discovered they make their dough from scratch! That was a real treat! I definitely recommend this place. Even if you aren't not close to their location, make a special trip! Service is great!

What a great little place for having a cocktail and getting up close to live musicians. Parking is fabulous. The vibe is relaxed and casual and the drinks strong.

    Old Fashioned and Mai Tai

Nice little bar that makes great drinks. I've been to Hawaii and it's really hard to find a real Mai tai in the Houston area. This one is a close second to the Mai tai at Monkey POD in Oahu. We will definitely be back again and again. My husband really enjoyed his old fashioned.

    Great musician...terrible service.

Sadly, the musician was fantastic. Two tables with people...had to go up and ask for a beer twice. You can't get repeat customers when customer service is terrible. When I went up to ask for another beverage she was buried in her cell phone. I just don't get it.

Website screenshot showing events listed on 2/8/25, but when we got there, they were closed with no signage as to why.

Tried to go last night. Their website listed live music 7-10 pm. We got there about 7:30 pm, but it was completely closed. We weren't the only ones milling about and confused. We tried calling and no one answered. No signs on the doors. I'm really bummed, I was very much looking forward to experiencing this speakeasy as I'd heard great things.

BEST PLACE EVER ! All the bartenders are badass and work so hard. And Toby and Damon are very respectful they always talk to the customers. But overall Juliette the bar dog J's my favorite

This ecclectic cocktail bar is a wonderful place night or day for great cocktails and good live music . The bartenders are always friendly ready to craft any cocktail you desire !

    Menu on newspaper so clever

Nestled in between the shops this quaint speakeasy bar in old town spring is dark and sultry. We did not try the food but from menu looks to be just quick bites. However the drinks were amazing and vibe on Halloween weekend was on point! Definitely going back.

Drink menu is printed on newspaper!

What kind of live music is at MB Speakeasy? I get the impression from reviews that it may be Jazz?

We do have some jazz, but honestly the music is pretty eclectic. We definitely recommend you check out our calendar at www.OldTownSpringLiveMusic.com to see who is playing on a day you are interested in attending. There will be a description of… Read more

We entered to a friendly staff who sat us immediately. The vibe is very modern with some Mexican influence. We were with another couple and I think they were under the impression that this would be Tex-Mex, but it is not. For drinks I got a Mezcalina, my wife got a normal margarita normally I don't love Mezcal, but was feeling adventurous and this drink did not disappoint, it exploded with flavor and was my favorite drink I have had here. The bar program might be the best of any restaurant in the area, as it should be since they have a speakeasy as well. In my previous trip they brought us complimentary chips and salsa, but the time they brought Mexican hummus and pita. I was initially disappointed, but this was one of the more unique complimentary dishes I have had, and loved it. For starters, we got the TOSTADA CHUTORO, which was a tostada with raw fish and caviar. There were two, and although smaller bites to share, the flavor once again really shined through. I would say this is similar to a ceviche dish with really fresh fish and bright flavors.

DJ was spinning tunes inside but we opted for outdoor seating on their covered patio as it was a nice day. I gotta say I had some trepidation given our CM's earlier experiences here. But everything turned out just fine on our visit. First off I love that everything on the menu is under $20. That means we can order more. I was a bit worried that out steak and eggs would be tough because I ordered it medium rare and it came out more medium well. It's even cut already so they should've been able to tell how well done it was. But it was still tender which is actually all I really cared about. The Holy Smoked Benedict is not your traditional eggs Benedict. Instead of ham they have slices of pork belly. And it's served on a crispy biscuit (I could taste the crunch) with potatoes with a poached egg on top just like a regular Benedict. My only comment would be a little too many potatoes for my particular liking, but you can just brush them off. With the money we saved we got the beignets. They come in a sack of 5 and with a Meyer lemon curd on top side for dipping that has a dollop of melted marshmallow cream on top. They aren't traditional beignets but are really small biscuits. They tasted hot and fresh, and were nice and fluffy regardless, which again is all I really cared about. Cold water comes in an old whisky bottle and is left at your table so you can pour as much as you want when you want. I really wish more restaurants did this. The place is also now on the InKind app so make sure you sign in and pay with the app if you do that kind of stuff. InKind is free and has occasional offers that make dining even more affordable.
