Modern restaurant with southern vibe. Service and atmosphere: This is modern and well designed restaurant and bar. There are plenty of seating options and different rooms to hire on the second floor for special events. The place was clean and organised. Our server SiSi was friendly, welcoming, and helpful. Food and drinks: Good menu options. You can choose here meat and seafood dishes , salads, sandwiches, and desserts. We enjoyed our mains, mashed potatoes with wasabi and seared ahi tuna, and fried chicken plate. Good seasoning and flavours. Chicken was still succulent and had perfect amount of crunchy breading on the outside. There is full open bar where you can order beers, wine, and signature cocktails. Pricing: $$/$ - the menu items were priced fairly and the experience was worth it.

We stopped in and ordered a variety of appetizers to share. Standouts were the cheese curds, Cesar salad and pork bites. It is a historical building with lots of charm and fun decor. Also a cool history associated with the restaurant. Staff are so friendly and service was great. We enjoyed all of the food options and would definitely recommend!

We love Wunsche, the food is incredible and extremely reasonable. Their daily specials are great and so is the regular menu. I got the friend chicken it was awesome and I 100% recommend!

From the moment we walked in, the experience was top tier. Our server Hannah was incredibly knowledgeable, attentive, and made sure we had everything we needed -- customer service was A1 I ordered the chicken fried chicken with mashed potatoes and mac & cheese, paired with a non-alcoholic hibiscus margarita and BABYYYY ‍‍‍ FYE DOESN'T EVEN COVER IT. The food had that perfect home-style comfort feel, seasoned just right, and cooked to perfection. My mom had the fried catfish and fries, and every bite was crispy, flavorful, and so well seasoned. You can tell care goes into the food here. If you're looking for comfort food done right, a welcoming atmosphere, and great service this spot is a MUST. We'll definitely be back!

Great atmosphere, service and food. Burger and fried zucchini was very tasty. Things have changed a bit since coming here for lunch in '77 from Spring High

Today was my third time visiting, and honestly, it was the best experience yet! We came on their Wednesday pork chop special night. My husband and I were in a time crunch and only had about 50 minutes before our next plans. Our server assured us we'd be fine -- and she was right! Our food came out in about five minutes, which absolutely amazed me. My husband's pork chop was massive, tender, and full of flavor. The apple butter paired perfectly with it. I ordered the chicken fried steak, and I can honestly say it's the best I've ever had. The portion was generous, and the mashed potatoes were creamy and delicious -- especially with the steak. The mac and cheese was simple but still tasty. We also tried the Wunsche Mojitos -- they were sweet and refreshing (I just wish it was a touch stronger). Our server was fantastic! I didn't catch her name, but she had such a great personality and made the whole experience even better. Can't wait to come back again -- and enjoy our leftovers tomorrow!

This place popped up on my TikTok believe it or not. I finally remembered to go give it a shot and though I've been the old town Spring many times I go to corkscrew barbecue all the time. I've never noticed this place on the corner. I think I found a new gym that I'm going to be hitting up quite often as a food was coming out two other tables. I was like I wanna try that. I wanna try that it looks phenomenal and the food that I got of course the pork chop was amazing. Not to mention the service was outstanding in the field of the old school times made it actually feel like a saloon very cool vibes.

I went to Wunche Brothers for my sister's birthday--it was my first visit. Not the best time to go since Old Town Spring is known for tough parking; we ended up about five blocks away. The restaurant was packed for Saturday lunch, and we were seated in a back area where sound echoed so badly, it was hard to talk to someone even one seat over. Despite that, the service was excellent. Our waitress was friendly and professional, and when we had an issue with a salt shaker, the manager came over to apologize and gave us free dessert and a signed birthday card, which was a really nice gesture. I'm on a budget, so I appreciated that the club sandwich was affordable--and huge. My husband and I both got it and had leftovers. The fries were great, too. The rest of the group loved their meals and desserts: chicken fried steak, chicken fried chicken, cheeseburger, and a massive pork chop that looked delicious, chocolate whiskey cake that was light and not dense at all, and the key lime pie was sweet . The women's restroom was clean, and all the staff we interacted with were kind and courteous. I'd definitely go back, but next time I'll ask to sit in a quieter spot where voices don't echo as much.

Stopped into Wunche Bros. Café and Saloon the other day for lunch. We were with a rather large group of friends and this old building looked interesting. And interesting it was, and in a very good way. To begin with, the food was absolutely outstanding. Our group ordered a variety of dishes. We started with some appetizers, sausage sauerkraut balls, fried pickles and Southern style deviled eggs along with a round of beers while we chatted and explored this really cool old building. We ordered our entrees, grilled ribeye steak sandwiches, black and bleu burgers, Old Town Spring Club Sandwiches and pulled pork sandwiches. We did not have one dish that was not delicious! Every bite of every meal was better than the last. Our server, Megan was definitely top notch and knew her job. While we were waiting on our entrees, we checked out the really nice upstairs bar and happened to run into Jason, the Wunsche Bros Event Manager who was extremely friendly and more than willing to speak about the history of this building and share with us stories of ghosts and paranormal activity that is supposed to occur within this building. ABSOLUTLY fascinating stories! Besides the great food and service, this impromptu tour was more than enough to make all of us want to come back and recommend the Wunche Bros. Café and Saloon to all of our friends and we will all definitely be returning as soon as we can.

I am embarrassed to say I live so close to this not so hidden gem and this was my first time eating here. The service is great and the food is delicious. The atmosphere is lively and welcoming! Will definitely visit again!

If I could give our server Tacoma R. 10 stars, I would. He was super accommodating, helpful and has the best personality. The food....every single thing was amazing. We had cheese curds (super lightly fried and flavorful), deviled eggs (tasty, mustard forward), several of us hot burgers (we all raved about how juicy ad nd flavorful they were and the fries were a thinner steak fry---uniquely shaped and delicious), the double pork chop was huge (perfect meal prep for the week huge...like family size and juicy) and lastly the chocolate whiskey cake was moist & slightly dense with a touch of whiskey flavor. This place is top notch. Well worth the trip from Richmond. The building is super cool too. The floor is original wood which is neat. The restaurant is clean and well maintained. Definitely will be back.

First you can totally see how this place was a hotel, saloon & brothel with the railroad across the street! The inside is so nice and I love the flashback METV projection on the wall. The food... the pork chops were awesome. My husband made two meals out of our lunch. I had the CFS and it was probably the best I've ever had. I definitely want to go back and try other items on their menu! Our server was MarkW and he was very nice and attentive to our needs. This is DEFINITELY a must go to if you are in the area - not to mention all the other little shops in this area to walk the meal off afterwards!

11/2/2025: We planned a shopping day in Old Town Spring. Shoppers need fuel, so we made reservations for lunch to start our day. I highly recommend reservations. If you are unable to find a table online, try calling in. That's what we had to do to get a table. I'm sure weekdays are easier to get in for lunch. We went on a gorgeous fall Sunday. We don't get many of those in the Houston area, so we made the best of it! To start, Wunsche Bros Cafe & Saloon opened in 1902 in Old Town Spring as the Wunsche Brothers Saloon and Hotel. It was originally built by brothers Dell and Charlie Wunsche to serve railroad workers and travelers. This establishment was also a brothel. They have a rich history with the clientele, going through Prohibition, fires, and years in business. WBC&S is absolutely haunted and having it positioned at the end of the street right next to an operating railroad, made the scene that much more interesting. A train went speeding by as we entered the doors. Scary places always have a train. It truly set the scene. After being seated at our table, we were immediately greeted by our waitress, Misty. She was a wealth of knowledge and I thought it was very nice for her to not only take time to tell us the history but to also answer our questions. Especially noting the restaurant was very busy, Misty was great! She was on top of our drinks, our order, and all around a pleasure! We started with the cheese curds. They were crispy and delicious. We also order the beer bread. It is very dense! I wasn't crazy about the taste. Beer was definitely present. All four of us ordered the Wunsche burger. We all split the burger baskets. It looked small but turned out to be the perfect amount. The burger was delicious! The fried were hand cut and crispy. We got a side of sweet potato fries to try. I wasn't impressed with those. After our meal, we ventured upstairs to take a look around. It is creepy up there! Old photos on the wall with period staged furniture, and the rooms are still sectioned off so it is easy to imagine the brothel in your mind. I was very impressed with the preservation of the upstairs area. They have a party room upstairs and other smaller areas available for s more intimate group experience. Outdoor seating is also available both upstairs and downstairs. It is not on the railroad side, so the noise would probably be less, which would help. Highly recommend. This place is great!

At least not enjoy spending it. But with prices these days getting way out of hand what can you do. I got the rattlesnake because I saw it touted as their award winning burger. Not sure from where the award came. But this and their trash can tacos had the emblem next to it. You also get a veggie pack with your to-go burger which has chopped lettuce, pickles, raw onions and 2 slices of tomatoes. That's nice so you don't have to put on the required latex gloves to use their veggie bar to get these yourselves. It's in a separate bag. I thought this was the buger at first and was secretly getting a bit concerned when I saw the cook toss it onto the counter like a bean bag. The cashier was super nice. He offered me water as I waited. They had another guy working in the back cooking the food. You also get a thimble of ketchup in your Togo bag along with a packet of mustard and mayo. The bun was a little burnt. And I couldn't taste any of the mixed in jalapeños. Also I kinda wish they had whole lettuce rather than chopped just because it kept falling out of the burger. But other than these issues the burger was pretty tasty. Definitely not a McDonald's burger like one person posted. But also not the best burger ever as many other posters swear by. Definitely glad I went. But don't know if I'd be willing to spend another $20 on one of their Burgers either. They're closed on Sundays according to Google maps which is old school nice to see.
