Got invited to dinner with my sister and we decided to try SwicHouse--and I'm glad we did! It's located inside a Marriott Hotel, but don't let that fool you--the atmosphere was really nice and had a great vibe. Our waiter was excellent and gave solid recommendations. I ordered the blueberry margarita and it was sooo good--sweet, refreshing, and definitely a win. Our waiter suggested the smokehouse platter to share, and we added an order of truffle fries. Let me just say... those truffle fries were AMAZING. Thick-cut, crispy, and full of flavor--hands down the best thing on the table. The smokehouse platter was more than enough food for two people. The brisket sliders were tender and flavorful, the wings were great, the pickled peppers were a nice touch, and the ribs were finger-licking good. The only downside was the potato skins--they were just meh compared to everything else. Overall, great food, great service, and a really nice atmosphere. I would definitely go back, especially for a date night or casual dinner. read more

Mixed review: the food was great, the service was subpar. I was joining a friend for breakfast. We walked in, sat at the bar, the restaurant was mostly empty. The place is inside a hotel but has access from both outside and inside the hotel lobby. SERVICE: We sat at the bar, received our menus and asked for two coffees, which never came. A while later, a different server/bartender asked if you want drinks we requested a coffee again. We had to request various items multiple times from multiple people before they were actually brought over to us. No big deal, we weren't in any particular rush, but have you ever gotten that feeling like you're bothering the server every time you ask for something? That was that feeling. I was still eating when we were handed our check. We paid. We were planning on staying for mimosas after eating, so we asked for 2 mimosas we were handed our drinks with a check. Again, the place was not busy, to the extent that the staff was hanging out and talking in a group. (That doesn't bother me, we all deserve some adult conversation.) We felt in the way so we paid and decided to go elsewhere for some mimosas. FOOD: I had the waffle with a side of bacon. Waffle was served warm, crisp & soft as a waffle should be. It was nice and thick and a great size, plus it was delicious! I couldn't finish it, I was soo full! The pecan butter was scrumptious and the berries were fresh and sweet. At first, we didn't realize this was in the lobby of a hotel... not like it mattered, but finding it took a minute. It was really nice on the inside and we opted to sit at the bar. Our drink order was taken immediately, unfortunately though we did have to ask if somebody was planning on taking our meal order. There were plenty of people working, I just think sometimes they just assume you're not there to have dinner. We both ended up ordering the pasta Bolognese and it was quite enjoyable. I'm not always a fan of garlic bread, but the bread that they put with this was so delicious and soft in the middle and crunchy on the outside. I would order this again just to have that. The drinks are very good as well. We both had the happy hour margarita to start and it was the perfect mix not too sweet or too sour. Overall, I would absolutely come back, the only real issue is parking, but it's not something they could help. Just something to keep in mind if you come at a busy time. read more

I'm not in the habit of shredding businesses, but sometimes it's warranted. We've been to SwitcHouse for two of our last three Mother'Days, and the service and food had been pretty good. Enough that my wife asked to come here again. Our reservation for six was at 1. We were seated at about 1:12, and a server came by within a few minutes to get drink orders. The waitress told us that it was busy, so meals may be slow coming out. Ok, it's Mother's Day and the place is full - I get it. After half an hour (not exaggerating), we had to pull her aside to take our lunch order. She had actually attended to a larger table seated after us first. After half an hour, of complete inattention, we flagged her down and asked where our food was. She said our ticket was still hanging. We asked for some bread or crackers or something, and she brought us a handful of crackers. She could not say how long our meal was going to take. During this time, we noticed meals actually being returned; we heard one server say the fish was cold. By 50 minutes of waiting, we called a nearby restaurant to ask their wait and they could take us immediately. At 2:50, we got up, I told a manger we were tired of waiting and were leaving. I offered to pay for the one iced tea and OJ, but she just apologized and said, "don't worry about it." I threw a fiver on the table and left. This is just bad management, pure and simple. They knew it was Mother's Day. They knew what their reservations looked like. They did not plan accordingly for the crowd. Obviously, their kitchen was overwhelmed, their servers had really large sections. No manager was circulating to apologize for the wait and offer complimentary desserts, discounted meals, free mimosas or anything. Across the street, we saw another party who was sitting at the table next to us, had also left. We had a little chuckle about the horrid service and then enjoyed some good Mediterranean food. I stayed at the Marriott for a work trip (really nice hotel btw) and we had a customer dinner at switchouse, and it was a really nice dinner. First the place is pretty, they have great decoration for the holidays, nice touches everywhere. Second the food was actually really good, I had the filet mignon and it was delish. It comes with green beans, mash potato and a mushroom. I don't care for that kind of mushroom and the sides were a little small but enough for me. The Cesar salad was super delish and a huge plate. The French 75 was meh.. and I took a star off because the prices are pretty high. $52 for the filet hurt. If it wasn't for work paying, I wouldn't spend that. It's an absolute treasure when there is an eatery in your home away from home stay that serves up some good bites. Popped in here on my last night at the CityPlace Marriott and came with a hankering for a burger. Boy did they deliver. I sadly have no idea the name of my burger as it was a newer menu or maybe seasonal so I cannot locate it on their website. It was a steak burger cooked medium rare paired with fresh tomato, arugula, aioli, and a black seasame bun, with a side of sweet potato fries. Also had a taste of the Dirty fries appetizer, a definite recommend if you're looking for something to go along with a couple brews. The brisket and queso while incredibly messy make this a great pairing to throw a few back to. Service was stellar and personable. The location is a great new spot! Easy to get to in front door parking. The Gruyère & ham croissant sandwich was delicious. The best part was the flavor of the Dijon mustard. The atmosphere is nice counter service so it was pretty quick only 15 min wait for food. Couldn't decide, so I got a side of both the tomato bisque and French onion soups! Each team had a good flavor while the French onion wasn't the traditional cheesy soup. I would probably pick that one over the tomato basil next time. Came here with some friends over the weekend who were from out of town and recommended this spot. My friend grabbed a Queso dip for an appetizer. I believe it had chopped brisket & some grilled veggies in it. It was just ok, nothing special. Additionally, they only brought a handful of chips. Definitely wasn't enough chips to accommodate the dip. I grabbed the bolognese pasta for my meal. First bite, I thought it was pretty good. As I continued eating, it just tasted average. Flavors were good but nothing spectacular. Service could've been better. Our waitress couldn't really understand us, language barrier. Here's a life hack for you, hotel restaurants. We decided to check this place out for Mothers Day brunch and we're pleasantly surprised by the selection. They offered a $65 brunch buffet which had a wide variety of foods and desserts that were fresh and tasty. Also, given that it was a holiday is was very quiet which was enjoyable. I also really enjoyed the cups they used lol. The waitstaff were alright, as they were just kind of standing around staring at everyone. I have eaten brunch at SwitcHouse on several occasions and enjoyed the great food and ambiance so I chose this as my 50th birthday location. My Mom called and spoke with the manager, Arlene, as she wanted to have some appetizers for my party before everyone ordered. When Arlene heard it was a group she recommended appetizer trays which had wings, pork ribs, brisket sliders, loaded potatoes and pickled peppers. I wish I would have taken a pic! They looked and tasted amazing so it was a good recommendation. We also ordered the Conductor's queso and if you're a cheese lover you need to try it out. The consistency along with the smoky brisket is great. Amber was our server and she was amazing, made sure we had cold beers and cocktails while we waited and we shared a few laughs with her. That was delicious and highly recommend. The fried orange was a nice touch. The last day we ate breakfast here. The house smoked brisket hash sounded delicious. We were not super hungry and decided to split breakfast. The hash looked really cute in cast iron skillet. The item description did not match what was served. There was no fingerling potatoes, onions, or peppers. Rather cubed potato and sweet potato fries. I am not sure what the meat was, but it was not brisket. The eggs were not fried but scrambled. They did not taste like real eggs, but rather from a container. There was no cilantro and way too much cheese. The hotel was dead so not sure if this makes a difference in food q This place gets 3 stars because I would recommend the bar. Eat somewhere else. read more

We visited Switchouse twice while staying at the Marriott, once for drinks and once for breakfast. Good full-service bar with decent selection of cocktails and craft beer. I had a barrel aged Manhattan, and it was decent but served a little warmer than normal. Breakfast- We had the Texas brisket hash. Very disappointing dish that did not match the menu description. Frozen sweet potato fries, frozen potatoes, Velveeta cheese and strange bits of beef that were definitely not brisket. Where were the brisket and the fingerling potatoes? I recommend complete disclosure when deviating from the menu description. Decided to try SwitcHouse for happy hour because it is new in the area. The restaurant and bar was SOOOO clean and smelled so good! There were numerous happy hour options for drinks (cocktails, beer, and wine) and snacks. I tried the Pimm's; it had strawberry and ginger and wasn't too sweet. I tried the chicken wings and the flavor was good but the chicken skin was pretty thick (and fatty) - I guess you don't notice this as much when they are fried, so it's kind of a trade off. We had quite a large party (8-14 at all times, people coming and going) and we were treated really well by the staff because we all know how large parties can sometimes become frazzling. But, we were the only table in the establishment for about an hour and given how empty it was, the staff was pretty unattentive. We had to order at the bar and they did notice when new people joined the table, which is pretty easy to do when a restaurant is empty :) I did enjoy the atmosphere (bright natural light and lots of windows, vibrant decor, etc.), drinks, and food and would like to go back and try SwitcHouse again and will update the review based on the next experience(s). read more
