Good for skate time, I'm glad the new owners are doing well. I would personally prefer less people for my grandson to enjoy it more, but that's just the grandma in me talking I guess. Reasonably priced, the adults go in free & pay for skates if they so choose. Planning an adult night with friends.

Went on a Thursday during the holiday week between Christmas and New Year's. Thankfully it was warmish for this time of year as I was afraid being in the mountains we would be freezing. It is $5 to get in to park your car which is totally fine. Not only do you have access to the ice-skating rink area but you can also hike locally and explore the surroundings. You were literally inside of a mountain range so if you like walking and exploring it is all there for you. Gorgeous area! It is $5 to enter the ice skating area and $10 to rent the skates. I feel that is reasonable getting an hour and a half worth of time and not feeling over powered by a crowd... I was definitely digging it. I have not been ice-skating for at least 10 years. The last time was at Chelsea Piers in New York City which was a totally different vibe. I enjoyed myself I can see returning throughout the winter. Everyone we dealt with from when we initially entered the park to helping us with the purchase of tickets and assisting with the rentals were pleasant. I'm guessing local college students. There were several employees on the ice as well and I saw them helping out when kids and adults were falling. They weren't extra but they weren't unpleasant so happy to have them there to help us. Glad I tried out this place and looking forward to future memories here.

The entire place had no heat…read more Everyone had coats on, after 20 minutes I asked the gentleman at the front if the heat was on. He explains they lost heat last night and the room is trying to get to temperature. 2 hrs later it was still freezing. People had on coats, hats and gloves. Children were shivering with red noses. It was horrible and probably the same temperature as outside on a January NY winter day. It was a horrible experience. I kept my kids jackets on the entire time, if we were not at a birthday party I would have left. Pizza took forever, service was horrible, the kids working had no clue what was going on. After both my kids ate their pizza they both wanted another piece of pizza. I asked the staff for 2 more pieces of pizza for 2 children in the party and they explained the host only paid for one slice per kid. I then persisted to speak with the gentlemen in charge. He advised the same thing. From my perspective the children are freezing the entire party was uncomfortable. They could not give 2 more pieces of pizza! The place should have closed that day and rescheduled events. I will never be back there. The bathrooms are a whole other story - completely unsanitary. This building needs a full renovation. Cannot imagine what their kitchen looks like if this is how they treat the front of house. If you want to go roller skating take the extra drive to Wood n Wheel across the river in Ulster park, in my opinion. Much cleaner and attentive staff.

For tubing, you purchase a ticket for a 2 hour block. They offer a lodge area with picnic bench style seating and have live music. They also have a full service bar area serving up adult beverages in addition to some hot chocolate and coffee. There's an outdoor seating area with adirondack chairs and fire pits if you're into taking a break or just kicking back and relaxing. Staff is helpful and friendly. On a Saturday, snow tubing tickets were $33, which is about on par with other tubing places in the area.

Weekdays seem to be set aside for freestyle -- meaning you if pay for lessons you can also pay for ice time sessions during the week. Lessons for children start at about $25 per half hour and up. As an adult pre-covid, I paid $50 per half hour for a 6-week session and learned very little. Freestyle sessions are about $18 per hour. Although an incredibly healthy and wonderful sport for adults, it seems too challenging to actually attend on a regular basis during the week, especially if you just want to skate without paying for the additional cost of lessons. I'll have to dust off my roller skates and hit the rail trails and hope, that one day, they'll become more senior friendly in their schedule.

Basically the staff continued to tell me I needed to register first before I could purchase ice time. They ended the statements with "okay" that was followed by a long pause. I called twice to no avail. No one was helpful at all. They also didn't say you could just pay in person. If they did, I would have just showed up and dealt with the poor customer service face to face. The website was even more difficult to navigate and I learned you have to log out and log back in after registration to be able to see actual ice times. It was not user friendly but maybe I am just old. The facility was over crowded, staff sent me to the counter to check in and the counter sent me to a separate desk as I didn't need to register but rather pick up my wrist band. If the staff listened I wouldn't have waited on the long line when I didn't need to and then be sent to a different line for a wrist band. The bathroom was disgusting. There was spit dripping off the faucet and some kind of something gross in the other sink. I was pretty sure the bathroom was a hepatitis breeding ground. Getting on the ice was even worse, staff stopped me every single time to make me to show my wristband when I had a child that was having difficulty getting his balance. I get it's policy but let us get our footing before crawling down our backs to show our bands. Also, if you need the child skate supports, you need to purchase them for $3 at the desk all the way in front. No one tells you that until you get to the ice and ask for one. And if you dare to put it to the side to tie a skate or attempt to huge your child skate on their own, people are savage and steal it. Really not the family fun I would have wanted, more like an episode of Survivor: Ice Time.

That being said they are not babysitters and children who are not able to skate independently and safely need to be supervised. The skates are good, but don't hesitate to make them aware if the laces need to be tweaked or replaced. There are very few things for minors to do in any direction and for very long distances, but even if there were more choices this destination should top your list. It's affordable, a healthy way to spend a few hours and fun memories to be made. They also do a wonderful birthday party during open hours or schedule a private time.

When walking in, it's spacious, has a snack bar and lots of vending machines. You had me at snack bar. OK...you also had me at lots of parking. But, I'm a fan of snack bars that have grilled cheese and other delightful, unhealthy snacks that counterbalance a heavy workout on the ice. Anyway, there are a bunch of locker rooms. They're actually clean. There are paper towels, toilet paper in the bathroom stalls...and....wait for it....hot running water! Oh...and the "piece de la resistance"??? SOAP. It was like heaven. Now...the ice? It was awesome. So smooth, cold and dry almost immediately after the zamboni cleaned and prepped it for our game. I hope to play here again sometime soon.
