Sadly disappointed. It seems adult public skating has been pushed to only weekends, with children included, which can be daunting to some seniors. Weekdays seem to be set aside for freestyle -- meaning you if pay for lessons you can also pay for ice time sessions during the week. Lessons for children start at about $25 per half hour and up. As an adult pre-covid, I paid $50 per half hour for a 6-week session and learned very little. Freestyle sessions are about $18 per hour. Although an incredibly healthy and wonderful sport for adults, it seems too challenging to actually attend on a regular basis during the week, especially if you just want to skate without paying for the additional cost of lessons. I'll have to dust off my roller skates and hit the rail trails and hope, that one day, they'll become more senior friendly in their schedule. read more

The process to register just to purchase tickets was horrendous and calling the establishment proved to be useless. Basically the staff continued to tell me I needed to register first before I could purchase ice time. They ended the statements with "okay" that was followed by a long pause. I called twice to no avail. No one was helpful at all. They also didn't say you could just pay in person. If they did, I would have just showed up and dealt with the poor customer service face to face. The website was even more difficult to navigate and I learned you have to log out and log back in after registration to be able to see actual ice times. It was not user friendly but maybe I am just old. The facility was over crowded, staff sent me to the counter to check in and the counter sent me to a separate desk as I didn't need to register but rather pick up my wrist band. If the staff listened I wouldn't have waited on the long line when I didn't need to and then be sent to a different line for a wrist band. The bathroom was disgusting. There was spit dripping off the faucet and some kind of something gross in the other sink. I was pretty sure the bathroom was a hepatitis breeding ground. Getting on the ice was even worse, staff stopped me every single time to make me to show my wristband when I had a child that was having difficulty getting his balance. I get it's policy but let us get our footing before crawling down our backs to show our bands. Also, if you need the child skate supports, you need to purchase them for $3 at the desk all the way in front. No one tells you that until you get to the ice and ask for one. And if you dare to put it to the side to tie a skate or attempt to huge your child skate on their own, people are savage and steal it. Really not the family fun I would have wanted, more like an episode of Survivor: Ice Time. read more

Mike and his team do a fabulous job at maintaining the Rinks and the facility. It is always clean and the ice is very well taken care of.

IT'S FREEZING at this place! Seriously bring hat, scarf, gloves and the whole nine yards as if you were going winter sledding. The rink room is absolutely freezing. Inexpensive indoor ice skating rink but with limited public skating hours. The only reason I don't give this place 5 stars is the fact they have limited hours for "free skating". Admission is $7 (at time of this review) with skate rentals at $3. If you are going to just show up I strongly suggest you call ahead to make sure the time you are arriving allows for public skating on the ice. The facility primarily seems to cater to figure skating and hockey teams with limited hours available for everyone to skate. Hours are posted at lobby desk so call ahead. Other than the limited hours for public skating the skates are fairly decent (not utter garbage), they even have kid walkers for the ice so that children are not constantly holding the wall and get more enjoyment from the experience. The facility does have a pro shop inside with limited hours, ask front desk about that since I saw no hours posted on front door of indoor shop. A concession stand is open as well for beverages and snack. If you go during limited hours it's a really fun place for the family. read more

Very disappointing experience here and very rude, terrible customer service! We reserved a spot for open ice time at the Poughkeepsie location because the website said a slot was open but when we arrived at the McCann Ice Arena, we were told that they closed at 4 PM for the day and our reservations were for 7 PM. We were then informed that we would have to go to the Ice Time Sports Complex, however it was too late to drive all the way to Newburgh and we would have had only 50 minutes to skate which didn't seem worth it. As I was explaining the situation on the phone to the front desk at Ice Time, the lady hung up even though I was being super respectful. When I called back again, they were not empathetic to my situation, and would not give a refund nor store credit for another day. Will definitely not be going here ever! read more

I am very disappointed that in this day and age with Covid people are asked to pre pay and if someone is unable to make the pre paid open skate that they will not give a refund or let you use it for another date! We've been incredibly disappointed in the learn to skate program. The younger kids get completely lost in the crowd. Way too many kids on the ice at once. Instructors are in another world- my child quite literally was forgotten on the side of the ice for 15 min with class beginning until I reminded the teacher my son was still waiting for a walker. We are not at all expecting our child to learn to skate in one week but it seems impossible that he will learn to at all with the chaos of this class. The teachers barely engage with the children and there is not enough space with how many kids are on the ice to have a successful class. We've signed him up for another skate program at a different arena with smaller classes because we are that dissatisfied. read more

As another Yelp-er said, it's FREEZING in this place, however it has some of the best ice I've ever seen, and I'm a hockey mom, so that's saying something. I'm guessing the cold temps might have something to do with the quality of the ice? I didn't see a warm room to watch the games from...that would have been nice! The zamboni operator knows his stuff, which was awesome. The facility itself is quite nice. They have vending machines, a snack bar, a regular bar (which was closed, but just the thought...) and a friendly staff. We were lucky enough to catch a hockey game for the blind and it was really one of the coolest things I've seen. We live in the Mount Washington Valley (NH) and I have been a guide for the blind on cross country ski adventures as well as canoeing the Saco River, but ice hockey? It was really awesome! We had a great time and would love to come back in the future. read more

Public skating at Ice Time is just the beginning. The rink offers birthday party options, learn to skate programs, hockey leagues, figure skating and hockey clinics/camps, adult leagues, summer roller hockey, and much more. There is a concession stand, game room, proshop and a great restaurant upstairs which overlooks the two rinks. Great for having a cup of hot cocoa and sitting in a warm area to watch games. As a hockey player I have traveled all over to many different rinks and I've always thought Ice Time was one of the best out there. read more

This is one of the most poorly managed facilities I've ever been too. I've skated here for at least 10 years and the place has recently gone down hill tremendously. I believe that it all started happening when Danielle Anderson was put in charge of the civic center. It's sad to watch it happen because I now have two young kids of my own that are just starting out. The management is very rude and unhelpful. The manager in charge of the rink...I believe his name is Mike couldn't take two minutes of his time to answer a question I had for him but had no problem flirting with my wife for a half an hour when she went to the front desk for information about our sons skating program. The building used to be very clean and have great ice but now that it's under his management that has all changed along with the staff. Ice time was always known for having a very helpful crew with great customer service but now theirs just new faces every time you walk in. read more

Great Ice Skating rink for the family. Very cold inside but affordable and lots of fun.

Wow, what a couple years under new direction has done to this place. From chicken fingers stuck in the ceiling fire sprinklers, to incorrect schedules, overpriced fees, and used iced for clinics, it makes Brewster Ice Arena look like a hospital ward run by Disney World management. A shame as it was one of the better rinks in the area a couple years back. read more
