Proper Patty ($11) - This burger comes with two smash patties, both of which are heavily salted and somewhat crisped up - the pictures from other people make it seem like they cook long enough to get lacy caramelized edges, but it's not quite to that point. Instead, the burgers, while not moist and fatty, aren't dried out either, and give a great beefy flavor. The burger sauce adds some tangy sweetness, and some pickles on top adds even more sweetness, but a very fresh crunch. It's otherwise pretty standard with the lettuce and tomato. A solid smashburger. (4/5) Fries ($5) - These are fried enough to give a crust on the potatoes, but not enough for the fries to be come crisp. I think they actually use a lime salt or something as I can detect a bit of citrus flavor. The Bud's Sauce is a nice mayochup mixture with I think a bit of smokiness from paprika and some chopped onion. It's sweet, tangy, and salty. (4/5) Overall Burger Buds serves some nice classic smashburgers! It's great for a visit while in town for a quick and easy meal.
