I just had to take a moment to share what a wonderful experience I had today at the McAllister On Dowlen Road. We hadn't been in a while because about 8 mths back we didn't have a good experience the eating are and the food wasn't good. My dad love the chicken salad so when Im in town I always go by for that and mom sandwich a couple times a week and I just decided one day to pass because it just wasn't good so to go by today around lunch and actually sit down in a nice clean store that felt warm and inviting from the moment we walked in the Cashier and a Manager both greeted us and asked how our day was going and even if we had been there before or if they could provide some suggestions from the menu. I was like oh yes that be great and those two ladies wish I would've gotten their names but it was around 11:10 and not only was the food delicious but the presentation of the sandwich and the freshness of the veggies on the sandwiches were so delicious we ordered one to go lol and the tea was as we remembered delicious ! I enjoyed the fact that this store definitely had a different vibe a good vibe that was reflected in the servers that as I saw the Manager walking around to tables talking with the guest and asking how their meal was I could tell the workers were reflecting off their managers actions and work ethic they were all very professional and made not just us but everyone we saw come in and was already there feel important and welcome and the food delicious ! like I said we have added yall back onto our list and at the took we will be back weekly again ! wat to go Team Dowlen McAllistwe Thanks Thomas & Laura read more

The service was so nice when we came in for our order. They were patient, like the manager trained them so well! The food is so healthy but so good at the same time. Food tasty! They have the a bunch of healthy things for you to eat. Even it it's not junk, it's actually very good! Interior is great, drinks great, like everything about it was so good! I recommend this place, even though it's a bit pricey, like 1 or 2 dollars, it's worth it! What more can you ask for? I felt like it was a fresh day! Water comes with free lemons if you want. The salads are worth the price. The service was very trained. And lastly, it's comfy. read more

The employees are always so nice and fun, and the place is very clean! I got the grilled chicken croissant, and about half way through I found a hair in my food. I went up to the counter and told the manager, and he didn't even question me. He knew exactly what I had ordered, and went and remade it himself. It only took about 5 mins! I ordered the Italian sandwich and it was great. Only problem is when I asked if I could substitute roast beef for the turkey they said yes but ended up paying more and getting....turkey. Man oh man. I remember when McAllister's was good. Sadly that was about fifteen years ago. I can't even recall the last time I've had their food. Well, tonight I have them a chance and well, it's making me wonder if the Sex Pistols are the new owners because I was cheated. $12, roughly for a steak sandwich on a small roll and a side of Mac and cheese that want even half of the container it came in. Using a delivery service meant I spent $20 on a sandwich, a side of Mac and cheese and a lemonade. Oh yeah, shout out to the kind soul that felt two napkins was an adequate amount. Tiny itsy bitsy amount of sauce on spagetti even when I paid for extra. Frozen meals have 3x their sauce and way less expensive.

I used to work at this McAlister's and then the management changed and it is now horrible. Kierrah moved as slow as she possibly could and was just chatting away with the people in front of me. Took 10 minutes after placing my order to get a singular side of mac and cheese. read more

DISGUSTING when I walked in I saw on the door it said there is an ODOR. The service horrible so slow , inconvenient and sometimes rude the food is not the best and not fresh do not recommend. I have to always comment whether it's good or bad. I'd like to really thank the owner for reaching out and trying to make it right. I love this place and honestly was disappointed three times. They reached out to make it right. Not every place does that and I truly appreciate it. Michele tried to charge me for the cookies when all she had to do was read my voucher and then argued with me about it. Are you serious? Love their sandwiches and salads but haven't been in so long because their kids meal option are not very good BUT today our toddler did so good on their plain grilled chicken croissant sandwich. She ate the chicken off the sandwich with a side of fruit. Thankful to have an option so we can enjoy this place again! They have a decent selection of food on their menu. We wish they'd change it up a bit more though. Their soups are really good especially the crab corn bisque (I think that's what it's called. If you really like soup like we do, make sure to order a bowl because even the portion of the bowl seems small, not filling, but definitely tasty. Not sure if they still carry it). The staff is fast, attentive, and always kind. They have good sweet iced tea, & flavored lemonades. The restaurant isn't fancy, it's just pretty basic nothing fancy. Good food and good service, but a hefty price! Its a sandwich shop, not a upscale dining facility! I should not have to pay high prices for soup and sandwiches. I had the "Big Nasty" which was just roast beef with gravy an a kaiser roll. I t was very tasty but I think it a lil weak to charge me a buck for "extra" gravy! On a sandwich called "The Big Nasty" I should not have to pay for extra gravy, it should come that way! The sweet tea was supposed to be famous....um no Popeye's has way better sweet tea to me. Over all I just thought the prices were a lil high and the food was ok. Again for the price I dont think I will be back...but if you in the area and want a tasty sandwich and or soup, give it a try. read more

Fast service but not anything special, it was no Chick-fil-A, I found this visit an pretty average visit to a restaurant. Nothing really bad but nothing super ****Updated Review***** I had used a free meal card to get the smoky pepper jack turkey sandwich, much like I did the previous visit. The sandwich was fresh, the soup was hot, and then service was fast. While thinking whether or not the change between the visits had resulted in a higher rating and I say yes. The only reason this visit is not a 5 star review is because of the small things. When the manager came out he was not apologetic, not that he needed to be but because he didn't show that he cared that second mile. Which is an aspect of a restaurant rare to this day. The soda was flat, which is fine and is the result of a busy lunch rush. Holly (or Sally) was the register worker and she was fantastic! When leaving we went up for refills, there were three of us and one worker got one of us a refill, ignoring me and my cousin. My only complaint is that their chicken doesn't taste the best and seems a bit dry, but it's really a minor complaint as I still get the salad quite often. Overall, I love this place though! The Dowlen location keeps everything very clean and their staff are always helpful and friendly. The selection of food is very diverse; sandwiches, salads, soups, sides, desserts, etc. The breads for the sandwiches are all fresh, soft and delicious. I've gotten hooked on a Pick 2 order of their Jalapeño turkey crunch sandwich and the Savannah chopped salad. I ask for their Chipotle ranch instead of the dressing it's supposed to come with. All is perfection! My husband in turn swears by the Sweet Chipotle chicken sandwich with a side of potato salad. And he is addicted to their famous sweet tea. read more

My first visit was for the Reuben sandwich. I love a good Reuben, but this one was a disappointment. It was a small pile of corned beef and sauerkraut sitting in the middle of the bread. Maybe 3 bites. The rest was only bread begging the meat to spread out. Paltry with no attention to detail by the chef. I should have known something wasn't right because I ordered at the counter and my order came out so fast that I hadn't sat at a table yet. Seemed like it was already made before I ordered. Soggy. This is the worst McAllister's I've ever eaten at. The food is ok but the customer service needs some help. I'm from East Texas and I'm always being asked if we need more drink or checking on us. At this McAllister's that has only happened once and I've eaten there multiple times now. The cashier had an attitude even when the manager was standing there and he did nothing about it. I love this place. I've never had a salad, soup, sandwich, or baked potato I didn't like. And that's not just because I may or may not share my last name pronunciation with them. The fire-roasted vegetable soup is probably the lowest calorie thing they have on the menu and really not that bad for how low-cal it is. Of course I swiftly undid that with a large sweet tea, but when in Rome, you know. The counter staff and serving staff are always friendly and helpful. This place is also pretty large, so there's never been a time where there were not plenty of tables, no matter how packed it looks. read more

Nothing out of the ordinary here except the Sweet Tea! Had the 1/2 Muffaletta & cup of Broccoli Cheese Soup. Soup is better at Jason's Deli down the road. Muffelleta leaves something to be desired. Hubby had the French Dip, which was good. Son had The New Yorker, he said it was pretty good. Guess I picked the meal that wasn't very good. This was my first time at McAlister's, and as much as I pass this place I had never really noticed it until I met a friend for lunch. It was a nice switch from the overcrowded Jasons Deli type places everyone always suggests for a sandwich. Great variety on the menu, & very affordable. First time here. I got the verde chicken with a side of lemonade and my boyfriend got the California turkey Reuben. Both was extremely good!

Great for a quick deli style lunch! Sweet tea is awesome or try their strawberry lemonade! They have a semi-new sandwich - BLT+A with herb mayo -- my go to favorite currently! Sides are all good and plenty to choose from. You can even sub your side for a cup of soup which is nice. read more

We went into McAlister's for the famous tea and cheesecake as a dessert for Valentine's Day. As we walked into the store the manager, Josh Cole, was holding the door open for guest and welcoming each one. I couldn't believe how personal he was with each quest ensuring each person has a warm welcome. As we got our food I see him walking around to check in with each guest to make sure the food was good. McAlister's Deli is my favorite deli restaurant/fast-food place in Beaumont. I stop by this restaurant at least once a week, because I love their BLT sandwich, country potato soup, and sweet tea. The service is always fast, and I like that our food is delivered in a timely manner. The prices are fairly high, but the quality of the food is superb. I am not a fan of Subway's and Schlotzsky's sandwiches, so I do not mind paying the price for what I order. I give McAlister's four stars instead of five because of the change in how the BLT is made. The menu offers a BLT+A that includes avocado (of course) and herb mayonnaise. I do not mind the herb mayonnaise, but I do not like avocado. Therefore, when I order the BLT sandwich and request that I get the regular BLT, there are times when I am given the regular BLT with regular mayonnaise, and then there are times when I am given the BLT with herb mayonnaise. There have been cases where I was given the BLT+A, which does disappoint me. Nevertheless, avocados are fairly easy to take off the sandwich. Overall, I highly recommend McAlister's. read more

I love the food and am a loyal customer but nobody here cares about your food. They mess up my order literally every single day! I have to ask the manager to take my order it sucks so bad. But the food is good, except it's always a trainee in the back. Expo is supposed to check but doesn't and just sits behind register on phone scratching her head. I don't think it's the most sanitary, I've literally had over 30 messed up orders at this exact location, but I freaking go back because it's good healthy food. I've worked at a different location before, and standards were way better than this place. I'm going to Jason's deli from now until this bs is fixed. They need a come to jesus meeting for real! Great place for lunch. Amazing atmosphere, over the top service and top notch food and drinks. The people were extremely attentive and provided some of the best service I've ever had. They refilled my lemonade twice and removed the plates once we finished. I know McAlister's already has a wonderful reputation but these people truly made the experience one to remember.
