The restaurant was amazingly decorated it had a very fisherman cabin type feel that went with the menu selection. Delicious fried catfish and excellent service. Went there with classmates during a reunion weekend and everyone enjoyed their food.

The atmosphere was uncomfortably cold. We were seated close to a fan and underneath an AC unit. The condensation from the unit was initially behind the table. However, eventually it began dripping onto the table.. The customer service was low. We ordered an appetizer, that came out with one of 5 entrees. The remaining entrees came out 5-7 minutes apart. Though our server apologized. It made it more difficult when the entrees were lukewarm and extremely salty. We attempted to mske the best of it. Resolving not to return. We enjoyed this yelp find- The server was excellent- very attentive, kind and fast! You could tell he was young but wow what service! One of the negatives of this place is that they charge for chips and salsa- even if they have to limit it, they should at least provide some complimentary because people are used to that, especially in texas. We split the seafood enchiladas and they were great- i decided that based on yelp reviews. It was a good portion and very splittable- we got the dip trio which was good- the jalepeno ranch was very similar to chuys, a tad different but comparable- The queso was pretty good- not the best we have ever had but the kids liked it. The kids meals were a good size and value! The ambiance is super fun and unique- It really is a great place to check out! The prices are kind of high for a mexican place but this is a mexican/seafood place so it's understandable. Definitely recommend this joint! read more

Kind of a hole in the wall place, but the atmosphere, service and food were great. We had the redfish, nachos, pistolette's and boudin balls. Some of the strongest drinks I've ever had at a restaurant and they were tasty too! I ordered the pistolettes as an appetizer, half shrimp po boy with gumbo, and a top chef margarita. The margarita was the best thing that I ordered followed by the fries that came with the half po boy. The gumbo was the worst gumbo I have ever tried--the roux was burned. The gumbo wasn't edible at all. The pistolettes and the shrimp po boy were both okay, but I'd most likely get something else if I were to come back. I'll definitely come back for margaritas!! We moved out of town but were back for the weekend and very much looking forward to going there for dinner. The margaritas tasted like dirty dish water. The queso tasted like it came out of a can. The seafood enchiladas were fishy and again had a dirty dish water taste. Our salads were watery. Sautés veggies had no flavor. The only thing on our plates that we actually finished was the fries. Really enjoyed my son and I's visit to this establishment. Went on a Thursday evening after a basketball game we were going to for my older son. Kind of a fusion of Cajun/Creole cuisine and Tex Mex. The atmosphere is cool and they have live music Wed-Sunday I believe. There was live music on this night we were there. Not too loud, just nice ambience. Food was great. The food is always top notch, but I see now why people who live in Beaumont roll their eyes when I recommend Tia Juanita. I eat there 3 or 4 times a month and love it. Orange by golf course, excellent, Winnie in old Al T's, fantastic, Port Arthur in old Reel location definitely my favorite, efficient clean and focused. I haven't been to Beaumont location in years, actually since they first replaced the smoke house, and now I see why people roll their eyes. Let's just say the food was so good. I went back a second time in the same weekend. people love the margaritas. My favorite is the vegetable fajitas. The vegetables are perfectly cooked and come out on a sizzling hot skillet. Your choice of tortillas with pico de gallo, sour cream, guacamole, and rice and beans. Visiting from out of town, we stumbled upon this chain restaurant. We were meeting with local friends who gave it a thumbs up, so we knew we had chosen a good place. We ended up eating way too much, but everything we had was good. Started off with some boudin balls with dipping sauce. This was followed by a bowl of chicken and sausage gumbo (tasted very much like homemade) and shrimp & grits that came with a side salad. Everything tasted great! The ambiance was very kitschy with lots of colors and fluorescent lights and memorabilia on the walls. The booths and tables were very packed in and the restaurant was full that night (I suspect it is fall most nights) so the noise factor was an issue. Too noisy to hear the singer at the front of the restaurant and we were about 4 tables away.
