I have been to this McAlister's probably 30 times in the last 6 months . It was very good for the longest time and recently it has went down hill so bad that I am unsure I will ever go back . This is very unfortunate because I truly love McAlister's and the employees at this one are nice people but the food is getting to the point of walking . I pay extra for the extra chicken and lately I have been getting less chicken then you would normally receive . This is 2 of the last three salads we ordered the other day . Paid for and was charged for extra chicken . The last 4 times this has happened and it is not like I can turn around and go back while on a lunch break . Stopped in the area while on our way up north and decided to give this place a try. Placed a takeout order for lasagna soup, a southwest salad and a ham and cheese sandwich. Schlotzki was closed, wanted a salad went with second similar option. This location is basically across street from Schlotzky's in Florence. I've had McAlister's sandwiches before so know what they are like, but we went with salad. I got grilled chicken & she got turkey club salad. They were $7.99 a piece which for the size of each was an okay price. I got two meals out of mine so not too bad. When we first opened the two salads they looked exactly the same except one had chicken pieces, I'm saying the advertising pics don't look the same as final product. As for the business it had that sticky floor when walking and liquid spills right in front of register. It was close to closing so maybe their standards are dumber at this time. BAD! HORRIFIC even. I ordered a BLT+A. It was atrocious - soggy, bread wasn't toasted, barely any avocado, BURNT bacon, and lousy greens. Somehow, the service was worse than my sandwich. The cashier at this location was dreadful and when I asked for my chips I didn't receive, she proceeded to list the chip options and then without giving me an opportunity to respond, hands me sea salt chips that and walks away. I did notice that no one working in the food area had on gloves I normally order online and sit in the car, but today I went inside and waited. One of the helpers came in to help out. Never washed or sanitize her hands and was checking food orders to make sure they were accurate. Well when she pulled mine out the window I cringed. I'm big on handling of food. If you're working a cash register and dealing with money you shouldn't handle food unless putting on gloves. Hillary was swamped and yet she still kept a smile on her face, spoke to everyone and handled everything going above and beyond refilling drinks, managing the counter, drive thru, phone. takeout and bussing tables. We had a large party for lunch (11 people). Food was good, with lots of options to split sandwiches, salads of their spud. I had a salad and half a loaded spud, which was filling. Servers were friendly and bring dishes to the table, including drink refills. The dining room offers different seating options. All and all it was solid spot for lunch. read more

Average McAlister's location, lots of seating for all. Large menu boards to review and order from. They have multiple sandwiches to choose from, hot or cold. My favorite is the King Club, it is very large and served on a soft ciabatta roll. But they have a nice selection of salads, baked potatoes, soups and more. I like the food overall but do feel the prices are a little steep. The basic baked potato starts at $6.15. Service here is usually good, both at the time of ordering and in the seating area. They do a good job of filling your drinks, so be sure to get a refill before leaving. read more

The food here is awful. The McAlister club looked like it had been throw together and then smashed. There was gobs of mayonnaise on one side and no honey mustard on the other. The turkey was wafer thin, there was one piece of bacon and the cheese was nearly invisible. Pathetic for a $12 sandwich. And I also don't like being asked to tip before the meal was even served. I've been going to McAlister's for years. I've ordered the same three items, so I know what to expect. The young girl taking our order was sweet and efficient. However, the cooks in back were not holding the food up to MCAlister's standards. My ham and cheese had NO cheese and maybe two ham slices. My husbands horseradish roast beef barely had any horseradish or meat when usually the meat and sauce is spewing from the roll. Very disappointed. read more

My husband and I went here last weekend for the first time and we were both pleasantly surprised. The service was excellent and the food tasty. We placed a to go order for a french dip, a muffuletta, and a spud max potato. The sandwiches came with sides so we had macaroni and cheese as well as mashed potatoes and gravy. We had no idea that the sandwiches would be so large or that the baked potato would be nearly the length of a football. We pretty much ended up eating off our order throughout the entire weekend. We enjoyed everything but they forgot to pack the au jus for the french dip so that was a bit on the dry side. I'd still order it again but I'd be sure to check for the dip before leaving next time. Their menu is surprisingly large and includes appetizers, sandwiches, salads, pasta, meal-sized bake potatoes, and desserts. There are many things I'd like to try since I had never been to this particular chain before so I'll definitely be returning in the future. Bathrooms very bad, I or my wife would not use them. The tea was old and tased bad had to request new drinks. The store that has had plenty time to be cleaned due to COV-19 was dirty, windows, window seals, tables , etc. the service was so bad we had to ask for our own food after it sat on the counter for minutes. This particular establishment is a monstrosity to the McAlisters Deli franchise. Our group of 20 called ahead to ensure they were well aware of our visit. When we showed up, we were the only ones in line and it was clear that they had no management on staff. But if there was management on staff they were doing a trash piss poor job. They told us multiple times that they would take our order in "5 minutes" but they failed to do so. Two of us ordered ahead online and waited 15 min past the time it was set to be ready. It was obvious that they were understaffed and that none of them drank coffee this morning because they moved slow as molasses. My dearest great grandmother (rip) could've ran circles around their staff. On top of the slow service, who seemed to be their manager was not following any safe-serve guidelines. She was handling food with her hair down, no gloves, no apron, long sleeve sweater and was constantly scratching her head and touching her hair while proceeding to handle food. I am astonished that this establishment continues to bring in customers. The two who ordered ahead received their food but the rest of the group chose a different location to dine. So help me God, if the two who received their food get food poisoning, the staff of McAlisters located at 1970 W Palometo St will be cursed for all of eternity by Madam Zaroni. Have ordered take out from here 10 times and the order was only correct twice. They are always forgetting something that is part of the order and that you paid for. Make sure to check your order carefully before you leave the store. Overall, the food is good, but the service is hit or miss. Bad Service. I did an internet order ahead of time. I got to the restaurant and stood in the pick up line completely ignored by everyone that walked by me. I had to get someone's attention before I was told I had to wait in the normal pick up line (which had a few people there that was behind me when I got there). Went into the restaurant to place a to go order. Mistake. Probably easier for the restaurant to accept to go orders via phone or online and then place by the pick up window. Waiting for a to go salad for over 20 minute at 12:30 PM is not acceptable. At least the clerk could have informed me of the wait time. Now the clerk moved the line and was pleasant, but this is a management issue. The cracker for my salad were stale. No crisp snap. In the garage they went. Manager should open a pack from time to time and test them or at the least rotate the inventory. I have never had an issue with the service in the off peak hours. This national chain just opened in Florence, SC and by all accounts has brought consistent quality with the franchise. The deli with a southern flair should do well in this southern city with its share of chains if the service and food stay as good as it was on our visit. Tip: get an iced tea frequent flyer card.
