All the places to choose from, my husband chose for us to stop at Olive Garden in Florence, South Carolina. Our break midday of a 13 hour journey. Unfortunately, he order a chicken Alfredo, chicken was warm, noodles were cold. I ordered stuffed chicken masala. My mashed potatoes were cold except for a little bit of the gravy on top. The chicken was very grizzly. We had our grandson with us. He was very hungry so he chose to just feed him what we could and leave. Very sad two entrées that we often get and usually quite enjoy. Yes they were busy, Sunday afternoon, but it doesn't excuse heating issues of the food. read more

Aye here today while working in the area. Got there at noon. Upon walking in there is a musty smell, like the place needs airing out. Was seated in the back. Gregory was my waiter. He was friendly and attentive. Had the stuffed chicken Marsala. The chicken was nice and tender and great flavor. It was a ton of food. The breadsticks were good salad was really vinegary. When something like this happens, I expect it to be handled quickly and professionally. Instead, it felt like my time didn't matter at all. I don't typically go to Olive Garden for anything other than Soup, Salad, and Breadsticks for lunch. It's a great deal and you get free refills on everything. This particular restaurant was short on servers when I came in for lunch. Consequently, the wait time for a table was about twenty minutes. Not the restaurant's fault but I didn't have that much time and I can be a little impatient. I ended up sitting at the bar which was fine. The bar tender was quite busy but she certainly kept up and provided great service. The soup and salad were just as I expected and the salad is dressed perfectly. I hate when get a salad that is over dressed. The breadsticks are good but nothing noteworthy. Overall a good experience but I'm not a big fan of eating at the bar. read more

Let me start by saying I love calling out good service. I believe that matters tremendously. In this case, I am reporting strange service in which I am not accustomed to. I will give specifics. When the waiter spoke, I couldn't hear a word he was saying. Had to ask him to speak up several times. I gave my order clearly and concise, as per usual because I need my order to be exact. I asked for unlimited soup, salad (with no peppers) and breadsticks along with sparkling water. I asked for no ice with my water and a lime. 15 mins later my drink came but with ice and no lime. When he finally arrived in another 10 mins, I pointed out ice was in my cup. So he left and bought back a new glass which was filled with water on the outside and inside. Still no lime insight. I didn't bother to ask again. 9 mins after that my salad and soup came. My soup spoon has old food on it. Had to ask for a new spoon. My salad had the peppers as well even though I asked for them to beheld. Minutes later, his eyes gazed upon my empty soup bowl but didn't stop to ask if I needed more. Eventually I had to stop him and ask for a new bowl of soup. Lastly, at the beginning I asked for a Togo order and that also is nowhere in sight even though that was the only thing he was consistently speaking about saying it's almost ready. That was an hour and 30 mins ago. I understand busy environments but the sheer lack of reading the items from his hand written pad and the electric pad makes me believe his personal accountability is lacking and his drive for better is no where. Kind man but needs to step it up tremendously. The 1 star stems from all these little things and interrupting my peace while eating. That is why I am motivated to write this post. As far as the ambiance and food, I have no complaints there. It's as expected - delicious and pleasant on the eyes. For me service is lacking and ruined my first experience in the Florence SC Olive Garden. My tips are strictly service based. Please just do better with service. I enjoy OG in my home state. A friend was in town and we decided to have lunch at Olive Garden. I ordered the Chicken Alfredo and she had the Lasagna with all you can eat salad and breadsticks, minus the hot peppers and olives. It was really good and took, at least, half of it home for dinner. Way to go Olive Garden. Service was a little slow, due to sitting in the bar area, but everything else was great. Our annual snowbird trip from NYC and again tried a local restaurant where we decided to stop for the night. Florence South Carolina!! Olive Garden, packed on a Thursday night although I understand it's day after Christmas and snowbirds are flying south, I don't understand why this Olive Garden doesn't have a 5 rating. Check in was painless and cordial and we decided to dine at the bar. Great choice Shanta (sorry if I spelled it incorrectly) was super fast, super attentive and got our dinner order perfect. She welcomed everyone with friendly chatter while navigating proper distancing/seating protocols & making deliveries. Our wait was less than a few minutes when my Daughter's food came out steaming, securely packaged, with an overflow of condiments & utensils. I'm quirky when it comes to Carry Out & having the necessary items for your meal, especially while on the road. The Shrimp Scampi dinner portion was lacking for $16, yet she liked her food & the unexpected servings of their signature Garlic Bread. We had some kinda beef fettuccine dish. I am not sure what type meat we ate The texture was off and didn't look or taste like beef.

Service was slow. Food was carelessly thrown together. Staff standing near our table complaining including cursing. Made a complaint to the manager and he never returned. I went to find him and he said he forgot about us. In the meantime, I got napkins for the table behind us and a Togo box for the table across from us. No sense in everyone waiting. I visited Saturday afternoon, and this location is always busy on the weekend. Lexi, the manger on duty, made sure all my requests were accommodated despite how busy the restaurant was that day. There are plenty of places to eat close by, but since I was a young adult, I always choose Olive Garden. Lexi reinforced this choice by providing an elevated dining experience in the midst of a busy day. I appreciate her hard work and excellent customer service. Thank you for being great, Lexi. I have fined at Other Olive gardens and swore I would rather go hungry BUT this location went above and beyond. Not only was the food pretty damn good for a chain but the easiness and professionalism demonstrated by the Florence SC location exceeded my expectations. We ordered online line for curbside pick up and the process was flawless and on time. Most important my shrimp scampi with angel hair was as good as other independent restaurants. every time I end up at an Olive Garden I kind of wince and think to myself. Oh no, not Olive Garden. However, when I leave Olive Garden, I always say to myself that was pretty good. Here we are in Florence. On our way to Hilton head and I ordered from the local Olive Garden for carry out. The process for ordering via my iPhone was very easy for this young senior citizen even though I never got confirmation after hitting place order. I called Olive Garden and they confirmed they had the order. What I find quite amazing is that we said we would pick it up at 6:40 PM on a Friday night. When we arrived, the parking lot was full with a few people waiting outside to be seated. I had said we would pick up the order at 6:40 and then 640 to the order came out, with everything being as ordered. Olive Gardens can be hit or miss even though it's a chain restaurant and supposed to be consistent across the board. This one was perfect the food was more than I expected. The bread was hot and fresh with marinara dipping sauce. Our server he was amazing. We didn't have to ask for anything he knew exactly what to do the Olive Garden way. We visited this establishment Friday at 1700. By 1706, we were seated and drink orders were being taken. Randi was our waitress and she was amazing! I love an individual who is extremely personable, as it makes your overall experience amazing! My mom and me got the zuppa toscana and Randi asked if we wanted to wait a few more minutes for the fresh soup and of course we said yes! Randi was so good with my kids and I wished we could have found a manager to give her more praise in person. I asked why if we called 45 50 minutes ago because we drove 45 minutes is it still another hour wait. He literally told me it's just the way ours works. First come first serve. But we called in??? he looked us up and said yes but first come first serve. what's the point in calling in?
