It's a cute little shop, with sandwiches, cakes, dips, appetizers, all sorts of homemade goodies ready to take with you. The menu also has a selection of casseroles, lunches and dinners. The cakes are HUGE! We settled on buying a red velvet cake. It was a bit pricey at $32 BUT it was so dang heavy, we asked if it was perhaps frozen?? It wasn't. While checking out, the lovely people behind the counter offered us a sample of the chicken salad. To me, chicken salad is good, but I can't say I've ever had chicken salad that blew my socks off... UNTIL THEN! Mmmmmm it was VERY good. It's been months and I still remember how incredibly tasty the chicken salad tasted. I'll be honest, I didn't say anything, but I'm hit or miss when it comes to red velvet so I was hesitant. Sometimes red velvet can taste bitter or just not good. My friend really wanted that one so I kept quiet. Boy am I glad I did! It was literally the most amazing red velvet cake I've ever tried. It's VERY rich so a small slice will do you (which means the cake will feed more!). Even as rich as it was, I was like a crackhead, wanting just a bit more. Since my friend lives solo, she insisted I take some cake with me. I should have taken more!!! I try not to live life with regrets, but that's one regret for 2015. :( My daughter will tell you she does NOT like red velvet. I forced her to close her eyes, and take a bite. She LOVED it! She scarfed down the slice I brought for her and wanted more. As I mentioned earlier, this was months ago and I still think about how great the cake and chicken salad tasted.
