After being unhappy with customer service in the past we decided to give McAlisters another try. We Ordered food online then went inside to pick it up. The bag was ready to go. The soups were in the bag sideways causing one to leak all over everything else. The cookie was smushed under a sandwich container and my 1/2 sweet tea had no sugar at all. Overall good experience and tasty food prepared correctly and quickly. However, the Christian music playing at an obnoxious volume (where you can't tune it out when you're trying to enjoy your meal and talk to your family) was a big distraction and disappointment. A business should understand not everyone is religious or the same religion. Like, Chick Fil A is well-known for their beliefs but it's not forced on the customers. Also, even though the restaurant was mostly clean, all of the napkin dispensers were very dusty as if they haven't been wiped down in months. First time here...due to mobility issues I ordered for curbside pick-up. There were 2 sandwich board signs designating curbside pick up. Unfortunately, patrons decided to park in these spaces leaving nowhere for curbside to park. We checked in on the app and waited.....and waited.....and waited. I have only had one type of sandwich here but i have had it many times and it has to be one of the best sandwiches I have ever gotten in my life. The Jalapeño turkey crunch sandwich is just amazing...smoked Turkey, bacon, avocado, pepperjack, on a jalapeño roll...soooo good!!!! The sandwiches are nice and full always, and always taste great. My mom loves the turkey cranberry orange sandwich, and any other sandwich that has been tried there by my family has been loved. This restaurant has its ups and downs. The best thing about it is the manager. However, the food portions and service are way far from consistent. Food portions shouldn't be noticeably different from order to order. A half wrap shouldn't be distinctly smaller than muffin or a roll, especially after you've paid a considerable amount for it. Is it so wrong to expect what you pay for? Hmmmmm....I think not. Service? I've learned from this location that when the cat's away, the mice don't give a d@%*! I've informed the manager of a visit where I pulled up for curbside service and sat and waited for more than 10 minutes for my order, and it wasn't brought out. I clicked the "I'm Here" button several times to no avail. There wasn't anyone at the counter, and the staff kept walking by. Eventually, I went in and got it myself, and when I asked why I had to come in, the response was, "I didn't see it on the screen." My only point (which I made to the manager) was that YOU ARE AT WORK! That's part of your job! Even the manager agreed, and she apologized. I sat outside for my order (curbside pickup) for 40 minutes. For a salad & cup of soup. First, they don't even have areas marked for curbside pickup. & when you call the number to tell them you are here, they act as if it's an inconvenience for them to have to bring the food out. We are huge fans of McAllister's Deli! My daughter and I love to swing by for a quick bite. The portions are big enough to share a salad or sandwich (or both if we get the half and half!). My daughter loves to get the grilled four cheese sandwich with bacon or the ham and cheese toastie! Where as I love the horseradish roast beef and cheddar sandwich and the italian chopped salad! I was disappointed for our first visit at this close by location. I just didnt feel my sandwich tasted like I've had before at a different location. My husband said his hardly had meat in it. Mine was packed w/meat but seemed like drenched in the honey mustard. I took two bites and asked my husband if he wanted it. He also said mine looked bigger than his and we just did the half sandwich w/choice of a side. The country potato soup was great. Hubbs salad didnt look fresh. He swapped it for country potato soup. My youngest son just ate half of the mac n cheese. Not sure if he didn't like it or just got full. When asked if we needed anything else, I asked for an extra pickle but never received it. My daughter didn't like the lemonade after all because of the pulp in it so we switched it to tea. This took awhile to get. I also asked for a to go box when one of the young ladies came to our table to take up our plates but never got that either so I had to go wait in line to get it. We had the same person table-side, taking care of us so not sure what happened. Overall when looking at prep area, even with what seemed like a manager, it just seemed like the flow of delivering service will need some work and perhaps it will get better. I'm just not sure I'll be coming to this location for awhile. For not being open that long, Id like to see this location succeed. read more

This time it was the chips, so I called and was told I can go back there and get them if I wanted them? Haven't come in to sit down at this location yet, but have ordered to go several times already. Order is usually done quickly and by a friendly staff. Sometimes you have to wait a bit for someone to come over to the register to help you or the order is slightly off (make sure you double check it before heading out) but no real problems so far other than the crazy busy nature of the place right now. Goes to show we need more great restaurants in the area! Having McAlister's is a welcome change to the last few places that have opened - namely low-end barbecue and burger places. I like the gourmet stuff. McAlister's isn't "fancy" per se, but they aren't anything like their neighbors down the parking-lot - i.e. a burger place slapping American cheese on a bun and charging $10 for it or a "red-lamp buffet" tier barbecue place with grey-looking brisket that would make any self-respecting Texan frown. Definitely give McAlister's a visit if you like good sandwiches, MASSIVE baked potatoes or even just good true Southern-style sweet tea. You won't be disappointed. Now... if we could just get a Jason's Deli... and a REAL BBQ spot - something more like Garland downtown's Intrinsic Smokehouse or Plano downtown's Lockhart Smokehouse... THEN I'd be happy with our area's selection of restaurant choices... Until then, McAlister's will have to do. :) read more

I like McAlister's good sandwiches, potatoes, salads and soups. Like the Wylie store layout. Good service and staff. I am a little disappointed that they don't offer to refill drinks that often.
