I dined here with a friend for dinner for the first time on Friday, 5/8. The food, service, and atmosphere were GREAT! It's a very casual place (even though the name seems like it would be otherwise). There are definitely other menu items I'd like to try. I was pleasantly surprised to receive 2 pieces of the Blackened Catfish! To top my meal off, I had the brownie. They prepared it exactly like I like it = HOT! I didn't take a picture of it - but I got takeout for my husband = Philly Cheesesteak with fries and a brownie. He enjoyed it! read more

I order the shrimp tacos to go. They were so good and the fries that came with them were seasoned to perfection. Also the young lady at the front hostess desk that took my order was super sweet. This place is close to my house, I wish it were good. In the 9 years I have lived here, I visited Foxiis 1 time. It was a strange experience, the other customers were throwing stares and the staff was unfriendly. Felt like they did not want any customers. We were regulars (bar flys) at the Foxiis old location for about 6 or so years prior to their move. This is still a GREAT place to get a cold beer, a boujee martini, or shots of Fireball while watching your favorite sports event. The food is always solid: the shrimp tacos, Philly cheesesteak, black bean nachos (add shrimp--you're welcome), and the boneless wings (Asian zest...yum...) are all on our list of favorites. Liz will take great care of you at the bar, and the owner, Juan, is always present, making sure everything is running smoothly at all times. This bar has a chill vibe, and it is run by a local who takes good care of his employees. We miss the old location (nostalgia gets the best of us sometimes), but love that now, there is always room for us to sit at their beautiful new bar! For anyone who boo-hooed and said the service here is terrible, I'm glad they are choosing to go elsewhere. The owner was very transparent in their soft reopening--he was training new staff members in their now larger location. I guess some people are clueless (or entitled) and unable to recognize and appreciate the hard work that goes into running a successful business. First time coming here and we had a great experience. Welcoming for families, good food but Heather was absolutely amazing. Didn't realize shrimp was breaded and she insisted on remaking to meet our dietary needs. We aren't the type to ask for something to be remade (especially when it was our mistake) but really appreciated her making that decision for us. Was going to give 4 stars bc both our cocktail drinks were flat but we didn't tell her and I bet if we did she would have remade those as well. We will definitely be back though. read more

We decided to give this a try - We thought it was a different restaurant that we were going to, but it wasn't (our fault) either way, we decided to stay and give it a try before the movie we were going to go see and since it was our first time trying it out. The ambiance isn't too bad, honestly I thought it would've been a larger space - but it wasn't ...felt cramped. Considering my husband is 6'5 - maybe that was a reason? We initially were placed at a table top, but moved over to a back wall space that felt less exposed. The service was ok, I feel like the young lady that was serving us was very new? She was extremely soft spoken and almost came off intimidated? We are a very friendly couple and very warm - not sure what that was about, but nonetheless, we got our order and drinks. The first drink I had was very watered down and gross, I had to send it back (forgot what any of the names of these drinks were), the second drink was way better and tasted great! My husband got his usual - we noticed there was a ton of ice in our drinks vs the actual drink itself. We ordered a chicken quesadilla to share since we were going to the movies after and filling up on popcorn - it was ok, not too bad, but not anything extraordinary or mind blowing on flavor and taste. I'm sure it's been mentioned, but I quickly read through a couple of reviews and didn't see anything about noise. It can get very LOUD! You get a couple of cackling women at the trough, and you can forget it! I spoke to the owner about this (he's a real nice guy) and he indicated he'd had several comments about the noise. And that he was trying to get that figured out. The food seems pretty good overall. They appear to be making a general effort to elevate their dishes. My son likes the food slightly better than I do. We have been patrons for quite a while and do like the upgraded new location over the old. Although they did transport the noise level. Went to watch a Mavericks game, the screens were very visible from every angle. The waiters were very attentive and knowledgeable. The food was okay. The loaded cheese fries had alot of flavor which was good. We were disappointed at the buffalo sliders they were not at all presentable and very plain; chicken tender dipped in buffalo sauce in the middle of bread. The Cajun pasta was well crafted. Ok, so, I was looking for a low key bar where nobody would recognize me or bother me(I've been to many bars, different types of bars) I just want my beer, an appetizer and finish the half end of the Cowboys game. Nope, not this bar. People are friendly and will welcome you with pep talk if they recognize that you are new. Goal#1 : fail. People are friendly enough so I can put ease that I won't be judge by drinking a wheat beer. You know, all this "why not a low calorie beer? " bs. Bartender is accommodating, patrons are vulgar (when the Cowboys are loosing) but friendly enough to not feel you are a loser for having beer by yourself. I've had their Fried Cheese Bites which came with a marinara and ranch dipping sauces. I also had their (which I'm really happy about) Sam Adam's Cold Snap. We have been regular weekly visitors of this restaurant for 10 years. Ever since they moved to a new location the service has been terrible. First time we came we waited 30 min and no one helped us. Because we love the place we thought let's try it again this time we waited and watched someone who arrived after us get service. The inside is an upgrade from the former Foxiis's location but that's where upgrades ends. Horrible service. They were greatly understaffed, but what made the service terrible was the bartenders moving at a snails pace. No urgency at all. I have been waiting FOREVER for the opening of Foxiis in Murphy from their old location to their new location. Finally they are open !!! Tried them for the first time today, I was sorely disappointed, not for the service, if I was rating the restaurant on the service I would have given them 5 Stars !!! I sat at the bar for lunch and I could have not ask for better service in my life. But Yelp is not rated on service, it is rated on food, therefore I am rating my star rating on the food. Now I previewed the menu before going to restaurant so I would be prepared. It only being a lunch I KNOW this is not a true rating on their food, but this is the only rating I have at this time, I truely intend to go back at a future date and update this posting when this takes place. But the on-line menu I viewed showed everything I thought and for lunch I only wanted a cheese burger which showed to come with mayo and choice of cheese. When I got to the restaurant it only showed cheddar which was no big deal and I ordered swiss but it came out dry, so I had to order mayo on the side which was a pain. Once I got the mayo and applied it myself I began to eat the burger and it had ABSOLUTELY NO TASTE whatsoever !!!!! I could get a better burger at Whataburger, McDonalds, or Burgerking. It was the most bland burger I have ever tasted in my life. I ended up leaving half the burger on my plate which the waitess picked up and didn't ask a word why I was leaving half my burger on the plate? Which any skilled waitness would be trained to do, but I guess they are not trained to do that at Foxiis? I went to Foxiis with my friend last Friday for happy hour. We each ordered a vodka soda. It came quickly and we drank it so fast because it tasted like just soda! We ordered another one and same thing. Finally we told the waitress - Kelly P that the drinks were way too weak. The next round of drinks were made properly. Not sure what she was doing back there but it was a waste of money. If I'm going to spend $30 on 3 drinks that taste just like soda, I might as well stay home. Just want to give this place a shout out! Finally got the chance to try it out after passing it for a couple of years. Definitely exceeded my expectations! It may look like a sports bar, and there's not much to it as far as restaurant atmosphere, but the food was NOT just mediocre bar food. Here's the breakdown of what we tried: - Fried Cheese Bites: Wow! Great crunchy exterior and great flavor. - Cajun Chicken Pasta: We visited in the middle of the day at an odd time, and I was told that they didn't have any pasta made. I was disappointed at first, but on the other hand impressed because I realized that meant they make their pasta from scratch. After telling the waitress we weren't in a hurry, they made it for me anyway. Great bite to the pasta, nice creamy sauce, and a great kick of Cajun flavor at the end. - Wings & Fries: My husband loved them. (Our usual go to is Wingstop, for reference of what we consider good wings ;) The fry portion was huge and they came out hot. Also, service was friendly and prompt. A friend invited us here for dinner yesterday. I'm actually really impressed! The atmosphere is cool, it's more of a sports bar feel. Looks like they may also have live music (saw a small stage near our table). They also have a small outdoor gated dining/patio area, too. Not a huge dining room, though. We ordered the loaded mashed potatoes (DELISH), the blackened catfish tacos (DELISH) and the kids chicken tenders and Mac and cheese meals. I also got a small side salad which was really fresh and the ranch was so good lol! The fries are just "okay", could be better. The food was made from scratch, I felt like we all really enjoyed our food. Our waiter was really patient, knew the menu really well and recommended how to order things. This place has great potential! After talking with the manager I found out it is transitioning from a bar to a bar & grill. Some of the high tops have been traded out for regular tables. There is no shortage of TVs if you are wanting to catch a game. The food was surprising good! Apparently it's all made from scratch. Had a late night helping my wife and daughters with some retail therapy. Last store closed at 11PM and we were all tired, thirsty and hungry. Did not want to hit a drive through so we searched the area and came across a couple of places that were still open and had food service. Settled on Foxiis as is was close. Wife and girls started with their Sangria and I opted for a beer. Menu seemed pretty extensive for what appeared to be a sports bar, so we ordered the black bean nachos topped with chicken and the stuffed jalapenos. Seemed to me it was quirky enough that it could be scratch made but in a bar?? OUTSTANDING. Grilled chicken is tricky because it can get dry quick. THe chicken was tender and juicy and it looked like an entire chicken breast was laid out on top of the bean topped chips. Straight from the grill, not from a warming tray. Sliced avocado and a huge dab of sour cream and jalapenos allowed us to build the nachos of our dreams. Next up were the stuffed jalapenos. You know how you can look at stuff and sort of tell if it's home made or from a bag?? These were handmade, HUGE and, though real spicy, sooooo good. After seeing the efforts on the appetizers we decided to hit the main menu. Orders of a philly cheesesteak, shrimp cajun pasta, firecracker shrimp tacos and a "angry bird" burger for me hit the kitchen. Even though we were getting close to kitchen closing the orders went in with a smile from the server and by the time the second round of drinks hit the table the feast was on! Everything was absolutely great. Juicy burger, fries on point and the servings were generous. I had a bite of the wifes shrimp and it was very tasty. Rave reviews from my girls for their entrees as well. Anyway, if you find yourself in or around Wylie and its getting late and you need a place to grub out, you can stop looking. They never made us feel rushed (even though they could have) and service and the food were both worth me taking the time to write a review that I typically don't do. Thanks Foxiis! I've never had meat that tasted so awful before. I felt sick just eating it for both the steak and patty melt. Blah. I never had so much trouble eating a steak before. The veggies were more enjoyable and the stuffed jalapeños were veeery spicy. It was lunch time and the place was empty, probably should have took that as my first sign to turn around and leave but I thought I would give it a shot. The waitress was nice enough, the bathroom was clean but there wasn't any paper towels in the women's bathroom. The food came to us as a decent time but the meat just tasted sooo cheap and not good at all. I would not recommend this place and I have no plans of ever coming back. read more

This establishment has been around for a while, but we just hadn't made it in until today. We have missed so much. The menu was filled with choices we loved. Bar food, yes, but each with a unique description that tantalized us. My wife had the Angry Bird, a wonderful burger served with not the slightest concern about its very spicy nature. We love spicy food and are disappointed with "Spicy" which is just mild. I had the brisket tacos that came with slaw , grilled onions, a complimenting verde salsa and limes. It was moist, filling and inviting of each next bite. The service was excellent with the waiter and bar staff working like a tag team to make sure we had no wants. We will be going back and back again to try the whole menu. Good selection of drafts too. How did we miss this place for so long? read more
