DO NOT TRUST Chris!…read more I took my 2013 F 150 into Chris for a shifting problem in my transmission. at the initial conversation regarding the issues Chris stated the first thing he would do is run diagnostics on it and pull the pan to see what type of metal shavings would be in the pan. No codes were thrown and he asked me how many miles were on the truck. I told him 170k. His response was "The transmission is just tired, you need a new one." So I wrote him a check for $4700 for the transmission. his quote in writing to me was $4700 for the transmission and $1295 for labor. The day I took the truck in he called and said 'I don't think it's the transmission, sounds like the transfer case. but we won't know until we put the tranny in'. So I asked him why we ordered the transmission if It might be the transfer case. He said it needs a transmission anyway. So at this point he is unsure about what is actually wrong with the truck. He then says he had to take it to a Aamco and get their opinion. Turns out they said it was the transmission and I had also taken it for a second opinion that conquered as well that it was the transmission. So after all of this nonsense of him not knowing the problem, I lost two whole days with no work being done to the transmission. He also came back with a new quote of $2000 now to put the transmission in. $700 more than his writtwn quote to me after he inspected the vehicle. Then he had the nerve to tell me he would never waste my money and order a transmission unless he ran full diagnostics on the vehicle. But he conveniently had short term memory loss when he said 'it's just tired, you need a new transmission'. On top of that he told me I misunderstood him!! So why did you order the transmission then??? I could go on and on and on but the point to this is Chris doesn't really know what he is doing, he lies about everything and doesn't honor his own quotes! DO NOT TAKE YOUR VEHICLE TO CHRIS AT COUNTRYSIDE AUTOMOTIVE!! Unless you like wasting time, money, being lied to and not having your quote honored! Regretting ever having trusted this man and also regretting that I have to give at least one star on this review! Worst experience ever. Chris gives honest mechanics a bad name!! One more thing... my truck smells like an ashtray now after he drove it. I've never been to his shop when he didn't have a cigarette in his mouth, pretty sure he smoked in my truck of it was just him, but he left that nasty smell in my vehicle.

It's behind the shopping center last door on the right. I just hope all these new customers he gets from my referrals don't get in my way when I need his help!

03/16/26 - Knorr's Car Care Center Saves the Day!…read more We had a horrible experience with the Walmart Auto Center in New Port Richey and hope to save others from the same. Three weeks ago, we had an oil change done at the Walmart Auto Center on 54 in New Port Richey. Before having the oil changed, our car didn't leak oil, at all. After the oil change, we noticed that it was leaking oil a lot. We took it back, they looked at it and they said they couldn't tell where the oil was leaking from, even after cleaning it off and checking the plug and oil filter. The Manager claimed that she had run it for about an hour while watching it on camera and saw no leaking. She also said the oil level was fine. Today we noticed it was leaking even more and when we checked the oil, it was low about a quart. We took the car to Knorr Car Care Center to have them check it out. They were able to get to the car today and immediately identified that the oil filter was not installed tightly and wasn't sealed, AND the oil drain plug wasn't in all the way. They were able to immediately resolve the issue and said that the diagnostic cost they quoted us covered the cost of taking care of the problem! We have found our new local auto center and will be recommending them to others as well!

They have coffee, water, wifi, bean bag toss, and a kids table for coloring as well as a table to sit at if you needed to work on a lap top.

Misdiagnosis, Unauthorized Service, and Refusal to Adjust Bill !!!…read more I brought my vehicle in for a grinding noise that occurs when turning and gets louder under acceleration. Instead of diagnosing the actual issue, the shop told me the problem was the rear differential fluid. Rear differential fluid does not cause grinding during turns, and this service did not address the issue I came in for. I am the owner of the vehicle and did not authorize the repair. My boyfriend approved it without my consent, and when I explained this, the shop refused to adjust the bill or even mark the invoice as "paid under protest." I was charged $240 for a rear differential fluid service that normally costs $60- $90 and does not diagnose or fix the symptom I reported. After performing the incorrect service, the shop told me I still needed to go to Ford for a TSB diagnostic -- meaning they did not actually diagnose the problem. I am now out the money for this service, plus the cost of Ford's inspection, and still have the original grinding issue. I asked for a reasonable adjustment due to misdiagnosis and lack of authorization, and the owner/manager refused. This experience left me paying for a service that did not resolve anything and was not the correct procedure for the issue I brought the vehicle in for.

They replaced all rotors and pads, adjusted the parking brake, oil change and tire rotation and replaced the serpentine belt since it had cracks in it. They had also said it that didn't work, they would make new lines! Who has heard of such service anywhere else recently?! Not me!!
