I want to start by saying this review does not reflect the Wynn Family Funeral Home that many in…read morethe community knew. We later learned during the planning process that the funeral home had been sold to another company the previous year, something that was never disclosed upfront. Our family's experience with my great-aunt, Bishop Marie E. Pines' funeral was deeply disappointing. The entire process lacked organization, communication, and the level of care someone of her character deserved. The disorganization also resulted in unnecessary costs and additional stress for our grieving family. Throughout the process, Funeral Director Christina N. Ross, MBA, was not transparent regarding burial insurance, scheduling, and the burial timeline. Communication was inconsistent, leaving our family to repeatedly seek answers. As a senior graphic designer, I asked to design my great-aunt's funeral program but was told I could not because they used a contracted print vendor. Respecting that decision, I created a detailed creative brief and organized all of the photos to make the process easier. When the proof arrived, we were given only a short time to review it. It was immediately obvious that neither Christina nor the vendor had carefully reviewed the work. The vendor used AI-generated images, including the main portrait, making my great-aunt look like someone else entirely. We were then pressured to approve a program that did not reflect who she was. I later learned Christina had switched to a different print vendor in Dallas because they were less expensive without informing our family. When I raised concerns about the poor quality, I was told I was "being too picky" and that every designer is different. This was never about personal design preferences. The final product ignored the creative brief, used incorrect imagery, and failed to honor my great-aunt with the dignity she deserved. They also placed an oversized Wynn logo on the back of the program, making it feel more like an advertisement than a memorial. The day of the funeral was equally disorganized. We repeatedly communicated that our family wanted a timely service, yet we were never informed that the burial would not occur until 2:30 p.m. following a 10:00 a.m. service. The transportation provided had no working air conditioning or gas, causing our family to wait over an hour at the cemetery. Because of the lack of communication and poor coordination, we lost valuable time to fellowship and celebrate my great-aunt's life. Bishop Marie E. Pines dedicated her life to serving the Galveston community and the church. She deserved a farewell that reflected the same dignity, excellence, and respect she showed others. Instead, our family experienced confusion, poor communication, and a lack of accountability. To this day, no apology has been offered. Based on our experience, I cannot recommend this funeral home to families entrusting them with the care of their loved one.

I would never use Wynn Funeral Home in Galveston, Texas again. The funeral director was completely unprofessional, and our family car even ran out of gas. They failed to communicate the burial ground schedule, leaving us stranded outside the gates waiting to lay my aunt to rest. Because of their severe delays, I didn't even get to see her go into the ground to say goodbye. The time overlapped so badly that we completely missed our repast slot at the church. No one attended, food went to waste, and we missed the irreplaceable opportunity to sit, talk, and reconnect with family who traveled from far away. They handled our grief with zero care, and I completely advise against using them.
