Overall, I'd rate this place 4 stars. I don't come here to golf; I come here solely to run. The running/walking path trails are decent enough. The park setting is nice, and it's convenient if you wanted an environment/path relatively simple. The reason for my rating is mainly the lack of upkeep on the trails, which can get muddy after rain. Also, there aren't clear markers for distances, so it's a bit tricky for serious runners looking to track mileage accurately. Despite these drawbacks, it's still a convenient option for a quick run when I don't want to drive far. If you're a beginner/average/casual/ runner like me and not picky about trail conditions, this place could work for you. Just don't expect the pristine conditions you might find at more specialized running spots. read more

I just stopped in to the club house to see if they sold sunscreen. They gave me a spray bottle and told me to keep it. They did not have any sunscreen for sale. Nice and friendly staff. The parking lot was a bit full but I found a spot. I was there walking the greenway. read more

We always love McCabe! I hit the driving range here as often as possible. It's a great course for beginners, especially the south and middle courses. My favorite is the north course which isn't always open. The McCabe family of employees are always so helpful and encouraging. They answer the phone promptly and I can almost always get a convenient tee time! read more

Staff at front desk is rude and the lady working it wants nothing to do with you. If you are playing with a teen or kid steer clear.

Just used the driving range. Was well used yet flowed nicely. People are courteous. Balls are 50 or 100 and you get tickets at pro shop.

I have come to Mccabe a few times over the years and it was great. My recent experience was rocky, and would leave me to never come back. I was with a group of 6, but only 4 were playing. We started off with 3 groups of 4 starting at the same time. My group tee'd off first and for the next 5 holes no group behind us had caught up. We were starting to be watched by a worker at the course in a pink salmon shirt. He had watched us for a hole (again we were doing nothing wrong) and finally came up to the 2 of us who weren't playing. He started to become rude and tell us that we were doing crazy stuff out here and that all of us were playing when we didn't have 6 receipts... I had not even stood up from the golf cart the whole time. I think he came after us because we were young 20 sometimes golfing on a random Thursday afternoon. The 4 that were playing were playing seriously and no one was golfing that shouldn't have been golfing. The worker also did not have the time of day to hear us out and only wanted to get stiffy with us and so for that reason I would not come back. read more

They don't allow kids here and act like you're an idiot for wanting to introduce your kids to golf. The place is a bunch of old heads with a "get off my lawn" mentality. Not welcoming at all. Not to mention the course is no different than playing in your back yard. read more

Not bad for government work. On second thought, actually quite bad for government work. Whenever you want to go to range, it's closed for some silly reason. When it's open, everyone and their mother is out and there is a 20 minute wait. Just waiting to plow the whole course and develop it into housing and mixed use. read more

They won't tell you this important information when you schedule a tee time, but after 2:30 you can only rent a cart for 9 holes. Imagine my shock when I check in for a 2:50 tee time, and they tell me I have to walk the back nine of my 18 hole reservation. As a whole, I give the facility 4 stars. The course itself I would probably only give 3 stars, but the practice facilities make up for this. The course is actually three separate 9-hole courses, and playing 18 is pretty cheap and not a bad deal given that the course isn't in terrible condition. The only thing I really don't like is that the course is incredibly easy (slope is like 114 I think). It's also pretty short (~6000 from the tips). The golf course is not bad, and they have some really sweet workers. However, the front desk worker had it our for me and my friends from the beginning. He was very rude and reluctant to help us, just because we were teens and somehow had "poor etiquette." I'd love to come here again for the good parts, but they need to remove the poor workers before I consider that again. This place is ok. The course is fine but the dude at the front desk is so annoying! I walk in and try to buy a tee but he won't let me because he says our group is too big. I completely understood but I told him that my mom was picking me up in 5 minutes and that I was not playing. Then he responded with " then you can get them another day". I was kind of shocked because of rude he was. Then as I walk outside the clubhouse I see him staring at me through the window to make sure I don't go play. Makes me not want to go back. read more

The golf course deserves 5 stars hands down. The blonde girl at the counter is right at about -5 stars. My boyfriend and I (tagging along)came here to have a nice evening to play 9. I am 9 months pregnant and naturally I would like a cart...there was no sign stating that they stopped renting them at 3pm due to "lack of man power" (hire more help then!) I am clearly upset so my boyfriend asked if they could compromise. She looked at me with a straight face and said no! What kind of customer service is that?? I cannot wait till the day she is pregnant :) Needless to say I reluctantly walked the 9 holes and still enjoyed the evening with my guy. But woman to woman I felt like she could have made it happen. This establishment is the reason why I want to fucking kms. I've never seen a golf course so money hungry and less organized than this one. It took me almost 4 HOURS to play 9 holes. I don't understand how people actually want to play here. Open up the fucking middle and north courses and stop sending everyone to the south. Our favorite course to play in Nashville. Lots of kinks that need to be worked out here though. Numerous times we have showed up and their 9 has been closed, the whole course has been closed, long waits, and no tee times. They need to be posting these details somewhere before we pack up and get ready, only to get here to it being closed. The pro shop guys are always pretty rude. New management is the nicest and most accommodating it has been in the last 5 years. We were backed up 6 groups on the South 9 yesterday and within 10 minutes, the manager came out and dispersed groups to the middle and north and cut our wait time in half. McCabe Golf Course is beautiful! perfect for all levels of golfers. The reason I gave them four stars is the customer service the gentleman behind the desk has zero customer service skills. This course has an unlimited amount of potential, but no one wants to go here because the staff absolutely hate anyone interacting with them. McCabe is a great course for people who are newer to golf or do not play all the time. It is great to go on weekends or days when I don't have school. However, I don't see how you can have 27 holes (3 nine hole golf courses), and still have a 20-30 minute wait on a Friday morning. Went there during spring break with nobody on the South and North courses, and the Middle was completely backed up because they use the other ones for tee times. Course is forgiving and not very difficult and fun for beginnners. Only issue I have is the younger woman who works at the club house in the bucket hat. Was obviously worried we would play slow because we were mostly women, then drive by to remind us to speed up despite the fact that we finished the first 9 in less than 2.5 hours. The course is great for beginners. Staff is really rude & seems like it's such an inconvenience for you to even be there. If you can get past dealing with the rudeness for 5 minutes it's a good course to play. Poorly managed, I once went on a Saturday (after calling and told almost no wait) and get to the tee box and there is a 5 cart pileup. I'm giving this public golf course 4 stars, but need to preface that by saying that I'm not a golfer! I have played this course a few times though--with work "team building" outings. I had a great time, and as a non-golfer, it was challenging but not terrible. This course, I hear, is great for beginners or for those who just want to practice their game. It is very inexpensive to play, as far as courses go--$11 for 9 holes, $12 on weekends. Double that of course for a full 18 holes. They have everything for rental there as well (extra, but not big, fees apply). Golf carts, push carts, clubs...you basically don't have to own any golf paraphernalia! In all, it's a 27-hole course, and the entire thing has recently been fully renovated--the "South Course" in 2006, and the "North Course" in 2007. I do hear from more avid golfers that the renovations have greatly improved this public course, and have made it a bit more challenging. If you just want to play a round on a nice day and don't want to spend a lot of money, or want to try out the game to see if it's for you before you sink a ton of money into the sport, try out McCabe. It's no fancy course, but worth 4 stars in value and that it's good for folks of all ages and abilities. read more

This is probably my favorite public course in town. I am a new golfer so I am looking for picturesque and pretty straight forward. McCabe fits both those bills for me. The price is reasonable and as I said there are enough trees and change in direction and elevation that the course feels like you are doing a lot of moving around. However, there isn't really much if any water and the fairways are pretty flat so it's good for a beginning golfer. I also love to go during the week went he senior citizens are out. They host some seniors clubs so you may end up having to wait a bit for a tee time but they seniors are all really friendly. Anyway, no pretense from them and they will cheer you on. read more
