I spoke to the customer service representative on the phone and she promised to review my case. About a week later, I received a call back informing me that my account balance was adjusted to $0 after confirming the details about my situation. I am happy that my issue has been resolved but it cost me many hours on the phone and a social media campaign to finally get the attention of the right person. I am adding a star to my initial review because "Meh. I've experienced better." I am hopeful that customer service continues to improve at Ally Auto in the future. After that, I asked if I could have my $25 membership deposit returned, but I was told I would have to wait six months to get my own money back. I understand that every financial institution has policies, but it was disappointing to be denied a loan and then be told I couldn't immediately get my $25 back. As a new member, this left me feeling that my money was being held even though I wasn't able to receive any of the help I had joined for.
