Two Rivers Park may be one of my favorite parks in the Nashville metro area! If you have ever…read moredriven on Briley near Opry Mills, then you have seen either the water park or pedestrian bridge, both of which are just a small part of what makes Two Rivers Park such a cool spot! The main draw of Two Rivers for me is the Greenway trails and of course the pedestrian bridge that crosses the Cumberland river and provides gorgeous views and a solid backdrop for a walk. The trails at Two Rivers are some of the most active in the city as at any given time of the day there are folks walking, blading, biking, jogging, etc...I spend most of my time when at the park on the greenway, it's well kept, well maintained, clean and peaceful. Outside of the trails, the park features a skate park, the water park, a golf course and a few other activity based areas. They also have a lot of public space and gazebos you can rent for parties and such. The park is huge, so you can access it from several areas from Briley, McGavock or Shelby Bottoms. The main entrance is just off of Briley, which is where I usually go, as parking is plentiful and it is a good start/stop point when hitting the greenway...plus the pedestrian bridge is right there! I called to get a site reserved for an extended stay. We were trying to get into a closer KOA to…read moreour jobs but the KOA we wanted had no openings. I put a 100.00 nonrefundable deposit down. The campground we actually wanted to stay in called 45 mins later; they would have an opening for the time we needed. I understand if it had been days or weeks and the campground lost a reservation because of us, but it was literally 45 mins, and they went ahead and charged us the 100.00. We are staying at another KOA it seems they could transfer that deposit. Oh well, I will never recommend that campground to any of our out-of-town friends.

I am infuriated that management does not seem to care about folks that cannot bathe in the sun @…read morethe Franklin location! I understand there was a lawsuit, and the lifeguards have to take up the whole shady area for emergency purposes. But, you could at least accommodate and provide for us otherwise. It's absolutely ridiculous that I see people who are paying good money for membership having to bring their own chair umbrellas, and I'm having to stuff my lounge chair in between two freaking picnic tables that are occupied. Word of advice, I suggest you remedy this situation as quickly as possible and definitely before it opens next year. I would think anybody in their right mind would've already had this well planned out before the pool opened, but it gets worse every time I come. On the other hand, you may have a lot more lawsuits for people getting sun cancer because you can't provide umbrellas for those of us that require it, to take shade. I have never been so disappointed in something in Franklin, Tennessee. You should demonstrate more class and consideration than this mess! And, I've been a resident of Franklin my entire life. I have been a member of this facility for many years, but you have completely failed this year in regards to the pool area. I'm so disappointed in this location! To add, there are many many more people that feel the same way I do. I've been talking to a lot of people. I have a feeling you're gonna lose a lot of memberships from this point forward, unless you change things. If you want to complain to the Director, his name is Gordon Hampton x 2015. One more thing you need to know, "adult swim" is interrupted by all the lifeguards taking break in the deep end to do splashing contests. So, I had to void my plans of quietly floating on my back. The young adults (lifeguards) overtook the entire area, and the older adults had no room to enjoy it. Again, bad management! Horseplay should be done before and after hours, not during public operation. It also gives a bad impression to the little ones, when the older kids act crazy and carelessly in the pool. There are proper times and places for everything!

They have bleachers if you happen to not have your own chairs. There's a covered pavilion area and a walking track. There's ample parking available. Overall , this is a decent park.

We have so many happy memories here. There are multiple tables, grills, trash bins and shelters around the park for everyone to enjoy a picnic. They have a huge shelter available to rent with a kitchen for bigger parties or weddings. A nice doc with benches to fish from and a long sidewalk along the water. Its clean, super shady and well kept. Convenient bathrooms, volley ball net, playground and more. I can't say enough good things about the place. Go yourself and enjoy!

I'm not exactly sure why Rockland qualifies as a "recreation area" and not a full blown park, but…read moreit's a pretty neat area to spend a summer day. It's out in Hendersonville on Old Hickory Lake, and it has a handful of pavilions (five I think) as well as several picnic tables. There is a boat ramp at Rockland, and a lot of people fish or launch their boats from the area. I've been to a handful of picnics and large, organized "get-togethers" (as my family calls them) at Rockland. There is plenty of room for the little ones to run around or for a game of football or frisbee. Rockland has a pretty nice view of the lake, and it's right beside the Old Hickory Dam. There's a great stretch of shore near the dam that makes for some of the best fishing in the area, and it's a lovely place to just take a walk or enjoy the scenery. Not my favorite park in the greater Nashville area, but possibly my favorite in Hendersonville.

Late April, 2024/Tuesday to Wednesday. My husband and I stayed at this wonderful campground run by…read morethe US Army Corps of Engineers (Nashville District) in our Class B RV for one night. We made our reservation through www.recreation.gov (military affiliation not required), and only a few sites were unreserved. Even on a weekday in April, it's a popular place! There are roughly 60 sites, all with electricity and water but not sewer hook-ups at the sites. (there is a separate shared dump station). Prices range from $28-$32 with the more expensive sites being those that are waterfront (if you're lucky enough to snag one!) A discount is available for National Park Service Interagency Senior Lifetime Pass-holders. What's to like? Well-maintained, clean campground. In fact, you're given a trash bag upon arrival to encourage you to keep your site clean. On-site fun, including swimming and boating on the lake, as well as a playground. Friendly and helpful staff. Kudos to the gentleman at the Attendant Booth. A bathhouse with showers and laundry facilities. Benches with a water view to enjoy the sunsets. Some pull-through campsites. Good security. The gate is locked each night from 10 pm-6 am (although we were informed how to enter/exit if we needed to). Reasonable price. Also, Nashville is within 30 minutes. And, what's not to like? We were informed that skunks frequent the area, so you need to store food in approved containers. (We didn't see or smell any). We experienced high winds during our visit, so boating and/or swimming were out of the question. Also, Wi-Fi is not provided at this campground.

The overall variety of programs for people of all ages is pretty remarkable. The front desk staff are very friendly & knowledgeable. The grounds are well maintained. The interior hallways & classrooms are clean and clutter free. Outdoor pool is popular! Several handicap spaces are available nearer to main entrance. Parking appears to be adequate but always very full. Entrance and exit is a single option off of Commonwealth Drive (cutting through to the adjacent elementary school is blocked off for safety reasons).

The facility is clean, but some of the rubber hand pads on the weight machines are deteriorating and sticky, and that's fun to grab onto. They offer an indoor basketball court with a track above the gym, a good amount of classes, outdoor basketball courts and tennis courts. The cost for a drop in class or to use the facility is a very affordable $3 and I've never had an issue getting parking and the staff is very friendly. If you are in the area and want to check out a great facility, you should keep SPCC on your radar!
