The people there are very knowledgeable, do not rip you off, and are very good to their customers. Go here when your mechanic says the labor will be 100s of dollars to change a headlight, and google it yourself. I highly recommend McCandless auto. They have a high focus on customer satisfaction. Every time that I go there i'm very impressed by how well they answer my questions and give me information relative to my needs. They always steer me towards the highest quality and most cost effective option. Some examples of how they have helped me are listed below. I hadHad a leaking brake line in my old Toyota Camry. They were able to help me figure out what I needed to do to fix it. They spent a good deal of time answering my questions and walking me through what I needed to do. They allowed me to borrow some tools to get the job done and I was able to fix a small section of leaking brake line for under $40 including brake fluid and all parts I needed. They were patient and kind. Another example was with my lawn tractor. I managed to cross thread the spark plug hole. They talked me through what I needed to do to re-tap and drill a larger hole to put in a threaded insert that allowed me to fix the problem. They let me borrow tools to get the job done and the total cost to fix it was less than $10. I was able to get my tractor up and running and finish cutting the grass in the same day. If you ever need anything for your car at all, you should definitely go to McCandless Auto. That's for the one negative review, these guys are not a towing company. Man, I love these guys. I deal with them for wholesale stuff through work, and they've always got friendly, knowledgeable people around. They will generally find it for you even if they don't stock it- I've actually received calls from them seeking dealer-only parts for their customers, just because they're the kind of place that goes above and beyond. Delivery times for parts are *ridiculous.* I have called and had the driver show up not 15 minutes later. They also have a pretty large selection of bolts, nuts, and various odds n' ends if you'd like to have something matched. read more

By far the BEST parts store you will find in the Pittsburgh area. I am far from a mechanic but dealing with the staff there is incrediblely conforting to know I won't be marking several trips back and forth till I get the right part. Especially when I tackle a project out of my league. I have since moved to the south of Pittsburgh and still find myself returning the wrong part sold to me by any of the local parts stores and kicking myself for not making the trip across town in the 1st place to get the right part, and usually some good advice as well as some in-site to what I'm in store for by Bill and his staff. This joke of a towing company was hired by Lindenbrooke apartments to handle the riffraff who continues to park illegally. One particular idiot who has been warned multiple times and is there right now has gotten away with this a minimum of 70 times that I seen. I lived here at least 5 years longer than the next longest tenant . And beings I have the biggest apartment, I also pay the most rent in this building. Anyways I was the first who parked in that illegal spot. At the time I didnt see a problem beings I was leaving early and had arrived home really late. The only other available parking was about 50 yards down the other end of the apartment plan. It's not a gated community even though your rent would suggest it is, and being a small woman I was nervous that far from my door at 3:30 in the morning. My point is that I was the first that I noticed to ever do it. The second time I did was only a couple days later in which I woke up to a citation warning me the next time I park there it would be a 50 dollar fine. Ok fine it's a problem to park there so I never did again. But beings 4 other apartments that have tenants who see you do something they want to do it as well. Yes my building is filled with those type of people ( Copy cats ) , you know, no mind of there own. Anyways this ONE particular person , well all of them I guess took turns parking there for the next year and nothings been done. Tired of it Lindenbrooke management hired these idiots who have yet to make a single appearance in this plan. If they would have they would have already towed the #1 idiot who feels they are entitled to more than the rest of us. Do your freaking job. Now I see why you guys were hired, you must charge by the visit and it don't cost Lindenbrooke shit obviously. read more

The people here are very nice and genuine. My family has come here for years and they have always went out of their way to help anyway they can. I have stopped here several times for things like hooking the computer up to my car to see if there was a reading for a check engine light and for testing my battery with no charge.
