I have purchased multiple cars from this dealer. The service is not up to par. You have an issue. They always say they can never recreate the issue. Subaru offers a guaranteed buyback but baierl didn't honor it. They offer only the bottom of the blue book even though the car was in top condition. They do not return your phone calls. Jim Sundy was great at finding us what we were looking for. A SUV with no accidents, few owners, between 2015-2020, with reasonable mileage, and reasonable price. He showed us about 8 SUV's, we drove 3, and purchased the vehicle that was right for us. A second SUV for us. I bought a 2026 Subaru Uncharted EV from this dealer. I love the car and drove from Georgetown, DE. to Pittsburg, Pa. to pick it up. Thomas Cuteri was great to deal with up to the point of the sale. After I drove the car and confirmed that I wanted it which he was surprised I test drove before saying yes to buying it. He kept saying another sales rep had it sold. Who does not test drive a car before they buy it. Thomas's customer service after I said yes was awful. He said he knew nothing of the product, turned me over to someone else that went over the car with me. I drove back home in my new EV Vehicle and when I got down to the last 50 miles of range at 12:30 in the morning in Frederick, MD. no one had showed me how to charge it, use the different adapters or even told me how to find a charging station. At 10:00 that night Thomas did send me a text asking how the drive was going and I texted him no one showed me how to charge it, their was no response. He has never called and followed up since. I just helped my cousin buy a 2026 Subaru Outback Wilderness, did not contact Baierl, I am so impressed with my cousins new Outback that I am considering trading my 2022 Outback in on the new one. Follow up with RYAN , the Customer Experience manager who went over all of the new technology baked into the car. where the battery stand/platform is that you will need when you put in an American battery. Where the jack and spare tires are located. How the subscriptions work. How to get rid of subscriptions you don't want. Where the new stuff controlling the doors and the cruise control the x mode etc are located within the multilayered menus. Where the emergency number to call Subaru for a tow is. If he didn't know an answer he knew who would have the answer. It was an excellent quick start session. Respectful of my time. He made every minute high yield. Highly recommend read more

If I could give them 0 stars, I would. This is my third negative experience with them and this one was by far the worst, dealing with Zach and then eventually, Frank. Zach lied to the insurance appraiser with State Farm, looked at the wrong side of the vehicle than the damage occured (a Subaru body shop elsewhere had to do the repair then I had to bring it to the service center for further repairs, making me rent two separate vehicles from two separate rental shops). Frank was a stubborn know-it-all who couldn't possibly apologize for mistakes he and their employees made assessing my Crosstrek, telling the insurance company they definitively didn't believe the damage occurred from the accident. These aren't good, trustworthy people. Save yourself some sanity - go anywhere else. read more

Zero stars. Bought a $27,000 car a few years ago and it came with a warranty and roadside services. Finally needed to use the roadside service, however subaru told me I could only have my car towed to the dealership which was closed on Sundays so I couldn't get it fixed until Monday morning at the absolute earliest. After unsuccessfully being able to get my car seen at other places it ended up being towed to Baierl Subaru after all. So Monday morning I call at 7:30 when the service department was supposed to open- no answer. Wait 5 minutes and call again - no answer. I repeat this cycle until 8:15 when I finally reach a rep. The rep tells me everyone is getting the day started and my car will get fixed today and someone will call me with an update. I get a call from a technician who tells me he has no idea where my tires came from and the closest one they found would take 2-3 days to arrive and would cost me $260 to change. I then hang up to call the last person who replaced my tires who informed me my tires were ordered from AMF Tire so I called them and they greeted me pleasantly and stated "if you have your car to us by 5 we will change it for you today". I then had my car re-towed from the dealership to AMF and within 45 min AMF replaced my tire at $170 almost $100 cheaper then the Knock off tire the dealership was going to order and make me wait until Thursday to have changed. Just lousy service all the way around from this place. Never seen someone go through such great lengths to simply have a new tire put on. Will never even attempt to bring my car here again for anything and I'd advise the same to others. Go to AMF for service. read more

This review is long overdue. About a year to be exact. My daughter had just relocated to Pittsburgh with her job. And her Subaru had a major issue. We did not have any contacts there and finally long distance I reached out to Baierl Subaru. The reps were helpful and did not over sell us. They gave her a car to drive during the repair, suggested a place for her to get her annual certification required by Pennsylvania and she has not had any issues since. My husband and I were walking the lot on Tuesday and came across an Outback Touring with 1000 miles on it and really fell for it . We continued to shop around but came back that night and took it for a test drive. The salesman we spoke to was about to leave when we returned but happily let us take the car for a test drive. I fell in love there was something about this car and with the low mileage it was a no brainer we wanted this vehicle. Our salesman Mike told us that we would not be able to get it that night due to the time but we made an appointment for Thursday to come back and purchase it. He shook our hands congratulated us, told us that he would mark it sold and he would see us on Thursday (that was the next day he was working). Thursday came and we showed up very excited to bring our new vehicle home. Mike told us that everything was in place and that the original numbers that we run were even better so our payment would be lower. He took us out to look at the car again while we waited for the finance/business person and something seemed off. I got in the car and we were playing with the features and my husband noticed that the odometer was at 3K and not 1K and we realized this was not the car that we had taken on a test drive on Tuesday. We told Mike and he agreed and then said well let me go look for your car. The car we test drove was never found. Obviously it had been sold earlier but that was never stated to us and the situation was very nonchalant to Mike - he basically said oh well just get this one its the same vehicle. Clearly it wasn't - there were 2 cars the one we test drove and the one they tried to pass off to us. While they were extremely similar the mileage was different and the trim was different. The car we AGREED to buy on Tuesday had a different exterior trim. The team at Baierl made ZERO attempt to rectify their mistake. In fact they made us feel like we had the choice of this car and they were doing us a favor. Mike said I'm sorry but continued to repeat that - Its the same the car I don't see what the difference is. At no point did a manager come to speak to us or anything. When I stated yet again you sold the car that we wanted Mike said well this one is the same vehicle and pretty much said see ya later when we made our decision to walk away from this purchase. No one tried to make the situation right, Mike said that his manager said they 'would knock a few bucks off this other one' but that was it. They sold us some story that someone entered the VIN numbers incorrectly in the system. Obviously when we made the handshake agreement on Tuesday Mike failed to mark the vehicle as sold and some other buyer was lucky enough to get the car that was intended for us. To make matters worse they ran the loan before we got there to expedite the process and now my husband has 2 hard inquiries on his credit report due to this debacle. I will never go back to this dealership based on how they made us feel. I recommend that anyone who purchases a vehicle from them get the car the same day so this doesn't happen to you. read more

When I purchased my car, it was a great experience but they greatly lack in customer service on the service side of things. I purchased my 2014 Subaru Impreza new at this dealer along with the gold extended warranty option subaru offers. Because of the added warranty and their recommendation I have been getting all of my service done at this location. 17 months ago when my car was in for service, they advised one break pad was sticking because of some rust. Their recommendation was to replace both rear break pads and to have the routers machined down to remove the rust. After the service I immediately started calling to complain about noises coming from my breaks. After finally getting in after trying express my concerns to the service manager (who now works at a different location) for another appointment I was told I didn't know what I was talking about and my breaks were fine. Now with less than 20,000 additional miles the same break pad and router is sticking and has worn to the point were it needs replaced and none of the others (unfortunately you have to replace in pairs). According to them it's my fault for not addressing this earlier and it's the local weather that causes this issue. I understand weather is a major cause of issues with breaks, but will never return to this location because of the way this service is getting handled and the way they are treating me as a customer. I have never had so many issues with a car and a company for service and Subaru does not do as advertised. It's unfortunate. My advice is to not buy a subaru and to stay away from baierl if you want quality service after you buy your vehicle. read more

Today was the second time over the past few years I have brought my car in. The first time I came for and asked for a synthetic oil change. I received conventional oil and when I brought it up the rep argued with me that synthetic wasn't better. After that I avoided this place for a couple years. This time I filled out the online form for a synthetic oil change. When I dropped off I asked for a synthetic oil change. The rep confirmed "You want the synthetic 5W30?" I said "Yes, please". I got conventional oil. Regardless if the difference in oil matters or not, I expect to get what I ask for. Also, as a side note, with 3-4 people waiting in the very small service desk area, they have a real tendency to just ignore you when you walk in. read more

The absolute earliest appointment given was July 25th.I almost begged for an earlier appointment , and explained I was getting physically ill when I would drive my hot car. Have taken my car here since moving from VA, my experience has been very good. Today, the Tuesday after Labor Day, my car needed just an oil change, so I used (for the first time) their "Express Service". The experience turned out better than I was expecting, in terms of waiting time. I was out within an hour. I had no prior experience with it & figured on a longish wait since it was a "short week" expecting more customers since they were closed for the holiday. For some previous larger jobs that I called in advance for an appointment - they offered me a loaner car for the day. Being retired, I typically would wait for the repair/service, so the offer of a loaner allowed me to go about what I would ordinarily do that do. All I had to do was re-fill the gas tank to the level it was when I left in the morning. Most of the work my car went in for was routine maintenance, except for one time a strut needed replaced. I've not had any problem with whatever needed done that required a follow-up visit. read more

I am so impressed by this place! I bought my car used from a different dealership that isn't a Subaru dealership and I really like having my car serviced at the makers dealership so I ended up here! I just needed an oil change so I brought my car to the express service. FYI, just pull your car to the service door and it will automatically roll up for you to drive in. I didn't know that but the service guy let me know and he pulled my car in for me. We got my paperwork done quickly and they pulled my car back for the change! We went to the waiting room which was super nice I though. Really clean and open with coffee, comfy seats, high or low tables, and a TV with vending area off to the side. Super modern and crisp like I love! So back to the oil change. Seriously I couldn't get over how fast this was done. I have always taken my car to the dealership for an oil change and it was always taken at least an hour, but not here! I was in and out withing 25 minutes and I'm sure it will be faster next time since I won't have paperwork to do. So impressed! I'm sure some people are used to this quick change but I now realize I gave wasted time waiting at these other places! Super glad to have a convenient quick place to take care of my baby!! read more

The website falsely claims they will give a $1000 bonus on trade-in's above Kelly Blue Book Fair value of your vehicle -- which is blatantly false. I called, gave my VIN number -- was quoted 19,000 as the value +1000 = $20,000. I entered the VIN myself into Kelly Blue Book and the average Fair condition trade in value was $22,324 + $1000 should have been $23,324. I called and spoke to the manager and was told that there is a $2000 reconditioning fee deducted from trade in offers and the website says this in the "fine print" (he used that wording!) I couldn't find it anywhere on the website. I had already been offered that exact same amount from a competitor. Hence there is no $1000 bonus. Bogus -- False Advertising. I just believe if you put it on your website you should honor what you say. read more

I bought a 2015 Hyundai from them and the salesman was great (of course he had to be or I wouldn't have bought it). The finance lady was nice and informative, however 2 weeks after I bought it I emailed her a question and she still never got back to me. Then 3 weeks after I bought it, the check engine light came on. I called to schedule an appointment, soonest they could get me was a week and a half out. I took it to the service garage, where he had me pull it in and the light turned off (typical, right!). He asked "well what did the light look like?" In a condesending attitude because I'm a young woman and he apparently thinks I can't tell what a small engine light looks like. He told me "well since it's off, you can take it home." I told him no that it comes back on and off the past week and a half and that he needs to plug the code reader in and see what the history says. So after much convincing, he did that and says "well I'll right the code down for you and you can bring it back if it comes back on." I again told him no, I want the engine light issue fixed, I didn't even have the car for a month. Then he FINALLY says that he will take the car in. He calls me later that day to say it needs a new oxygen sensor and that Hyundai has to order it. He had called Hyundai and and it would be in the following week. So I called Hyundai to make an appointment for another week away. I took it this morning for that appointment and they said they never got the part order because baierl never called. So moral of the story is, if you're a woman... baierl service garage won't listen to a word you say and they still don't do their job properly anyways. Or at least the one mechanic is like that (I know his name but I won't be THAT petty to write it). Should have gone to Hyundai in the first place and I wouldn't have wasted this amount of time and energy. read more

7/28/2020 - Go somewhere else - Took my Outback in for a recall that was related to the front exhaust pipe that may make noise per a Subaru bulletin, and I reported hearing a noise coming from under the front of the vehicle. Ryan gave me a loaner and were very pleasant as usual. They couldn't get to my vehicle that day, so they asked me to keep the loaner overnight. Later the next day Ryan called saying my vehicle was done, but the noise was not related to the recall and it would be $300 to fix. I explained that was not in my current budget (Covid) and he said OK, then its $65 because we looked at it. I said well I just wanted the recall work done and wasn't told there would be charges for this visit. There was a long 10 second silence on the phone, then I asked if he could waive the fee because I was not aware of fees during recall work, and eventually he agreed to it. When I picked up the vehicle someone else checked me out and reminded me that they were doing me a favor by not charging me this $65 fee. I peacefully took the car with reluctant head nods and went home. The service director Josh emailed me, so I emailed him back explaining the experience and today he got back to me by phone. He patronized me and ignored the part of the Subaru bulletin about the noise, and said they were in the right to attempt to charge me for the noise. But I said Ryan did not tell me about any charges at the time of drop off, and Josh said he should have told me. Ryan did not remember if he did or did not tell me about any charges, and Josh still insisted that Subaru was in the right to attempt to charge me for this work. The conversation did not end well. I would recommend taking your Subaru somewhere else, I have been there multiple times with my and friend's vehicles, but now we are at the point where the customer service rep can't even get the job right after the fact. read more

Took my 2009 Subaru Forester in to perform the airbag recall. After driving home I noticed that the hot / cold adjustment knob was very tight and when I tried to turn it it snapped off. I called and they said to bring it back in and after spending some time looking at it they said it was broken and that they needed to replace it but didn't have the part so I'd have to come back. So I scheduled a third appointment to return when the part came in and the repair was successful. Of course they performed the additional diagnostic and hot / cold adjustment knob replacement for free but it took 3 trips to fix instead of 1 - very inconvenient. read more

The A/C in our Subaru went out while traveling. We found a dealer that could look at it that day. Unfortunately they didn't have the part to correct the leak but were able to add refrigerant to get us through the trip. We attempted to make an appointment with Baierl service to do the repair when we returned. The first appointment they had was almost 4 weeks out. The car is getting close to being out of warranty. They didn't seem to care, and suggested that we call every day to see if there was a cancellation. Seriously? My husband suggested that they might try a wait list but were told that "their system didn't support that." Pencil and paper? Spreadsheet? I called another dealer in the area and was able to get in quickly. I don't know if it's the new owners or something else, but the customer service attitudes have gone downhill recently, especially compared to the other two dealers. read more

I went to Baierl Subaru on 3/4/2013 for a recall and I have a 2012 STI and heard my car fly passed the back of there shop while I was in there waiting room and the tv was loud. The mechanic was beating on my vehicle.When I told the service writer about the mechanic beating my car they basically ignored me.So then I go to leave and get in my car and I save all my change in the console and all the silver was missing. I took him outside and showed him there was nothing there but pennies in my console now he did not know what to say. This is the reason I stopped going to Baierl Chevrolet and now I wont be back to the Baierl Subaru dealer again. Next step is to call Subaru of America and let them know. read more
