Worst place to get your ac serviced. Chris came out to my unit. Clearly had very little Idea what he was doing. Began talking about replacing it and potentially needing a crane to get unit up here!?!? The funny part of all Of This is the main reason I called this company is because according to a sticker on side of old unit, they were the original ones that had installed it. Obviously it wasn't this same crew. I brought Randazzo through Costco and they knew what they were doing and we have new unit going in two days later. Not professional either. Charged us for "his time" of two hours in which he messed w the ac unit only to have me in the exact same situation after he was done with a broken unit. I told him if I take my car to a mechanic and he diagnoses it for 2 hours yet doesn't fix anything, I don't typically pay for his "time". Avoid this place at all costs. He even suggested that while we are waiting for a new ac unit to come in (4-6 weeks---apparently being shipped from God knows where) that we simply Have to swelter in the scorching heat during that time period. Seriously save yourself a lot of headache. They are simply unprofessional. So extremely disappointed but found a easy fix with a company who was much more professional in Randazzo. read more

I woke up one morning to a very cold house; and found out my pilot light on my old furnace had gone out. Considering that we were scheduled to have below zero temperatures that week, I knew I would need to have a furnace repairman come out. I had heard good reviews for McCarver, and gave them a call. They were able to come out the same day, through a snow storm, and look at my furnace. Chris didn't mind me standing behind him, chatting with him about what had gone wrong on my furnace. He troubleshot my furnace, starting with the more simple, and cheaper repairs, then moving up. It ended up being the gas valve that had gone bad on my furnace, and Chris was very helpful, and explained everything. While some people complain about the price, I can rest easy knowing that the job was done correctly, the first time; to me that's worth it. read more

Our air conditioner went out over the weekend, and I feared that I would have to get the whole unit replaced. I called McCarver based off of all the good reviews on Yelp, and I will have to agree with all of these positive reviews. I called on Monday morning and they were able to get someone out to my house Tuesday afternoon. The technician was very nice and knowledgeable. The only thing that was damaged was the capacitor that protects against electrical surges. The cost of the part, labor, and service call fee were less than $300. Since our unit is 10 years old he could've told us that everything needed to be replaced and we wouldn't of been shocked, disappointed yes, but not shocked. Chris and the team at McCarver are extremely trustworthy and honest people! I called out a furnace company to do a yearly inspection. When they arrived, all they could do was fear tactics and push to make me buy a new furnace. The worst part was they created fear about Carbon Monoxide. Chris was very kind and jumped on the phone with me and talked me through things. When it came time for a 2nd opinion there was zero trace of CO, and while I might need to replace my furnace in the next 5 years, it wasn't an emergency that needed to be done today. My furnace conked out on me the day before Christmas Eve and completely stopped working. The weather was freezing (around 10 degrees or so) and I had no heat at all. Chris McCarver came out the next day on a Holiday and diagnosed the problem right away. After giving me the possible options that I had for my furnace, he promptly fixed my bad, horribly neglected furnace right there on the spot. He pretty much rebuilt the entire thing in a matter of only a few short hours, undoing years of neglect. The price was extremely reasonable and fair, especially considering that it was a Holiday. Of course our A/C went out on a Friday afternoon before a holiday, and it was hot! Well, everybody was busy because it was the first hot week of the season. McCarver was recommended to me from a co-worker and they were able to get me an appt the next Wednesday. That may sound not-so-good, but it was the earliest I could get after calling four other places. They came out, diagnosed the problem quickly and was able to fix it in 30 minutes. My unit was installed in 89' and still had the old Freon in it so they could have sold me a recharge, or a whole new unit. They were honest, efficient and reasonably priced. This company was the best, on time and very professional. We had to have our furnace replaced in a very small mechanical room, and all the duct work in our lower crawl space replaced.The crew that was here was the best, they did a great job, I am very pleased... everything is working great!! My experience with this company has been truly excellent. They were able to come out on short notice, diagnose multiple issues with my boiler furnace, provide what repairs are needed and what they would further recommend be done. They took the time to measure the carbon monoxide levels and measure how well my furnace was burning to make sure it is working as safe and efficiently as possible. A HUGE shout out to J & J Refrigeration. Last night our furnace stopped working (New Years Day), my husband called and was prepared to leave a message and Greg (from J & J) answered the phone. My husband explained the situation and he gave some suggestions to my husband to see if it could be fixed over the phone. Nothing worked so Dean (from J & J) came out the next morning. My nearly 20 year old furnace made strange noises a couple of times recently so I called Family, the company that installed it, to check it out. The service person (#440 - I don't remember his name) was thorough, patient and professional in every respect. Although the source of the noise remains a mystery, he checked out all integral parts and found them to be in good operating order. This employee is an absolute asset to Family's "family".
