Hello Reader, I have deviated from a very important endeavor of mine that needed my attention. it was imperative that I did such a thing, because it proved to be conducive to express to the community at large of the optimum treatment that I am currently receiving here at McClure Rehab Center. However, before I continue to move forward, it is essential that I emphasize that this writer (myself) has not been the recipient of any incentives, promises, enticements nor has I been subjected or subjugated to any form of threats or any act of coercion by anyone in an effort to induce or compel me to falsify this commentary that's at hand. In all reality on the contrary, it has been very difficult for me on my own volition to try and the find the adequate words that can actually reflect and project the magnitude of the level of professional care that I have continuously and has endlessly received here. Which started from the very first day that I was admitted into this very prestigious facility when I was half dead. McClure has literally and figuratively brought me back to life from the threshold of death when I was ready to give up and succumb to the severe illness that I was afflicted with doing that period of time. However, the qualitative care and treatment that has been bestowed upon me has enabled me to be elevated from the depths of bad health and adversity, back to the paramount of excellent existence and a sound physical disposition that I once knew. (Thanks McClure for your performance.) I am upset about what some of those disgruntled individuals posted about this Rehab Center it was totally, completely and absolutely untrue, unfair and do not have any base in reality far as I am concern, I have not witness any of those unfounded accusations and fabrications that has been written about McClure. Matter of fact, if that type of sub standard treatment was the order of the day here at some point, I would have been long gone from this place many months ago, which I have been housed here for more than a year and I have cherished every minute of it indeed. So what do that tell the reader (meaning you) about this establishment? In a closing remark, keep up the good work McClure because we all here send the organization and your duty bound team of staff a firm salute which is nothing more but a symbol of our never ending heart felt respect and profound appreciation for all the things that you have done and no doubt will continue to do. Also one must not, will not and definitely shall not forget to extend a warm shout out to Andrew, Maggie and McKenzie the three most compassionate and highly competent administrators that's in the business. McClure deserve more than five stars why not give the entity the entire solar system that will the be tantamount to the organization effectiveness. My mother's care here was horrible, concerns about mistreatment , missing belongings, severely understaffed facility. She suffered from numerous bacterial infections sores and complications which only surfaced after being in care. read more

We were very pleased with my wife's care at McClure following her broken hip and hip replacement. When I first visited McClure, before she was moved from the hospital for rehab at McClure, I was immediately impressed with the clean facility and open and friendly staff. These first impressions were born out during the 2+ weeks my wife spent there. She received PT every day and improved dramatically before discharge to home care thanks to care manager Michelle, social services director Kristen, PT Laura, OTs Masa, Shanna and Katie, speech therapist Elena, nurses Angie and Kusum and Dr. Allen. Can't even get in touch with my cousin. Bad parking. and all they have is one phone for 58 patients. And the mobile phone is lost all the time. And she needs communication from her family. It is hard for me to get to visit her or I would be there every day. A very sad situation. And when I call the front desk there phone has too many messages on it and cannot get through to Desk. read more

This facility is grossly understaffed. It can take over half an hour, maybe an hour, for someone to answer your call button, and then they're busy with another call. Don't try to call during their break and when they're getting your meal trays ready (that takes about 2 hours). They take away your water pitcher at 5:00 am and it can be after lunch before you get any water. "Just call if you need water", yeah one day I had to ask for water about 6 times and I finally got water 7 1/2 hours later. You're always asking the wrong person. More TP? It's someone else's job. I don't know if the messages are passed along. Juice for breakfast? A 4 ounce container is often what you get. Oh, you have water, that's what I got one morning when I asked for more juice. You might sometimes get an 8 oz glass, especially with later meals. They seem to run low on food and supplies, especially over the weekend. Like butter and jelly with your toast for breakfast. Usually after breakfast they'd come around with coffee/tea. My last 3 days there were no tea bags Did I want some hot water? I had to share a room with another patient and she seemed to get preferential treatment, her calls were answered, her food trays had more food than mine. From night 1 her TV was on all night and they have no way to mute the TVs, I couldn't sleep. When I asked her to lower hers, I was the bad guy, mine was too loud, I usually couldn't hear mine unless we were watching the same channel. They need to require TVs be turned down/off no later than 10:00PM or give you something that lets only you hear the TV, which was at the hospital where I was before coming here. Many of the staff have a minimal knowledge of English, it can be difficult to communicate. Most are nice and helpful. Others not so much. The food is more decent than hospital food, if the kitchen remembers your preferences, and sometimes plentiful for me, other times not so, especially when compared to my roommate. And, I need to gain weight. The therapists are good, but they keep changing. They are always coming around to clean the floors and rooms. When you are discharged, the Social Services Director/Discharge Planner is of no use/help. She was no help to me with Medicare about making appeals with Medicare and my health plan, even though I was not rehabilitated enough to go home. I had to make all the calls. I have been trying to call her for 2 days and all that I get is to leave a message about Meals on Wheels and home health care, which I understood her that I was to get, there has been no call back. When I Google her I find that she has been Accounts Receivable Receptionist at this facility for 3 years, her position must have changed from this. How much training has she received for her new position? read more

Let me be the first to review. I've been coming here for the last week visiting my father-in-law. My first impression was great! The CNA was attentive, the RN was nice and knowledgeable. The environment was clean. However the boards on the walls were a little scary. I know it's Halloween coming up but dang that wall had some a scary pictures. LOL Being in the medical field you pretty much have to either love what you do, hate it or just do it for the money. I'm not sure about other people in the field but I like to represent my place of employment proudly. The second time I came I was not at all impressed! My FIL was complaining to me that the physical therapist hurt him and was being a smart ass, but my FIL let it go. Then he told me that he would press the call light button and it took staff FOREVER to attend to his needs. Third visit... by this time I'm upset. My BF isn't the type to go off on someone unless it really pisses him off. Hence here I am, the mouthy girl with zero tolerance for common sense. My FIL was complaining of having shortness of breath and to my knowledge nobody did anything until I said something. I advised Han the RN before I left that he was having shortness of breath. She notified the on call doctor and he suggested he get a nebulizer treatment. After that he felt a little better. I still wasn't happy because he's been there for a week and we still have not heard from the doctor. I've left several messages with nurse and still no call. read more

This is not a good place for people who need care. The food is horrible. Animals are fed better than the patients. The care is substandard. Don't place loved ones or anyone at this facility. read more

Awful. Last year my mom was at this place for a week. It smelled awful in the hallways and I thought well, maybe there was an accident. But is really was bad throughout the halls not just one area. The nurse that provided the prescriptions the day we left was rude. Fast forward to last week; my mom had to stay here again and there were children living there running down the hallways. My mom had a private room and non uniform people were coming in and out of the room in the middle of the night. Summit Hospital gave my mom a walker and she already had her own cane. Both were taken from were taken from her and they told her it wasn't hers. Now we need to see if we can get these back. Terrible. read more

I unfortunately had to stay here for a week following open heart surgery. What a nightmare. First, the center is overcrowded, the rooms are overpacked and not very clean, the nursing staff is minimal and not the top of the class. You can press for a nurse and she typically won't come for 20 minutes. The food is abysmal. So bad that I lost over 10 pounds because the meals were so vile. I couldn't eat it at all. The reality is that this place is a sad dumping ground for largely poor black people and the very elderly and infirm. I can still recall always hearing people crying and screaming in the middle of the night 'Help me, help me!' They have an indifferent physician assistant instead of a doctor. The real doctor shows up about once a week and gives you 5 minutes worth of attention while playing with his laptop. I had to ask for a phone to call my family and they gave me this grimy, little cell phone. It was covered in crud and never washed and one of only two for over 100 people. They make big money from Medicare by keeping the poor and elderly until they die. Then they brag that the facility was updated - translation: they put a new coat of paint on the walls This place is hell and please don't let anyone you care about be sent there. I can honestly say that very painful week in the hospital with heart surgery was easier than the seven days of hell I spent here. Don't buy into the phony photos and write-ups. read more

I was very happy that I chose McClure. The staff was very accommodating and the place is very clean. There was always someone there to help when you need it. When something needed to br fixed, it was handled within 24 hrs. The staff was top notch in my book. Mackenzie Larson and her team is very special to me, they handled my woundVac needs with the upmost care. From the top of staff tree to the roots, I give the care for my life to you. On our first visit my grandmother did ok. With my frequent visits, all her needs were met and the rehab staff were great and very accommodating. She adjusted so well to this group I decided I would send her back while I went on vacation for respite care. Big mistake! They did not bath my grandmother and when she returned home she smelled so bad! They discharged her home on a paratransit bus with all her belongings after I had discussed something completely different with the DSD whom was in charge while the DON was supposedly on vacation. She would return from her dr.'s appt. And have no lunch after being gone since 730am! She even told her caregivers (whom I had check in on her a few hours a day while I was gone out of town), that she had fallen and they needed 4 people to help her off the floor. She had abrasions and scratches on her body as a result of such. And to make matters worse, this incident was NEVER reported and administrators knew nothing (nor did anything) about it!! Horrible place! We had my great aunt stay there for rehab. They lied to us about our aunt's condition and made up stories about her health to make her leave for absolutely no reason. They never contacted us about her so called worsening conditions. They literally kicked her out for no reason and the new rehab place she is at now, did not find these so called worsening conditions. They also stole all of my aunts clothes and belongings. We have an invoice of everything that was brought there with her and she left with absolutely nothing. When we mentioned suing them, suddenly the nurse that was taking care of her found some of her missing items (a lot of the items were brand new with the tags). They even stole my aunts wig that she was wearing on her head when she first arrived! Sickening. This place is a joke. I've heard so many stories of people going through this same thing. We will be suing for her other missing items as well and hopefully that nurse will be fired. read more

The staff is pleasant, professional and dedicated. The management team is caring and accommodating; they listen to our family's needs and provide the most appropriate and satisfying solution. Having little knowledge about skilled nursing facilities, I relied on the suggested referral from a case worker and Summit Hospital. My parent stayed at this facility for 33 days. IF you truly love your loved one who may need a long term facility, this is NOT the place. Don't send your loved ones to this place. There is something truly lacking with the individuals who work here. They lie, the speak in vague general terms when one is inquiring about a loved one. They have caller ID, so if you raise ANY issues, concerns or voice dissatisfaction, they will NEVER pick up the phone when you call. Since there are visiting restrictions in place due to the COVID -19, we as family members must rely on phone calls in order to communicate with our loved ones. When your calls are being ignored/blocked, it restricts the ONE form of communication you have. This is plain and simple, a form of abuse...imo! Most skilled facilities need new guidelines and protocol in place. This is one reason why most of our loved ones say, "don't ever put me in a facility, cause I will just die". They are telling the truth!! Not ALL facilities are horrendous, some are actually pretty darn good. If you are moderate to low or almost poverty level, your loved ones will get STUCK in a place like this! Lastly, instead of the Director of Nursing stepping up and deescalating concerns family members may have, the D.O.N. and her staff will build a wall of hostility and shut down ALL communications! read more

The best I have seen , honest. If there was a problem, although few, they were handled immediately. I highly recommend.
