This is the wholesale bakery counterpart of Cannelle Patisserie in Birmingham and downtown Detroit…read more I've tried several of their croissants at coffee shops in the Ann Arbor area. Since the ones I've tried were baked earlier before being transported, they probably weren't the freshest and consequently were soft and not flaky at all. So I wouldn't be surprised if the products at Cannelle Patisserie were significantly more enjoyable due to freshness. But for Golden Wheat at least I agree with another review that the items I've tried here were "not bad but not awesome either". The croissant dough here is chewy, denser, quite sweet, and not the most buttery in flavor (the aftertaste is more buttery). I've probably liked the plain croissant and the zaatar croissant the most. The zaatar croissant I tried had raw dough in the center and the outside was too dry, but the flavor was good and there was a lot of zaatar swirled throughout. I didn't like the other items I tried. The pain au chocolat (aka chocolate croissant) only has one strip of chocolate, as mentioned in other reviews, and it's very soft chocolate, not a high quality bar. The cinnamon roll is on the bready side (think Asian bakery bread but denser and harder) and the filling isn't super cinnamony, but it's also not overly sweet; personally I prefer the ones from Crust. The almond croissant is very soft and flat, but it felt a bit like I was eating raw dough, and texturally the dough and filling felt sort of similar.

The worker was really friendly. They sell both frozen and refrigerated pierogi! They are handmade and amazing! I do wish they cooked them here! We were so hungry They have all kinds of flavors! My favorite are the jalapeno popper pierogi or the coney chili cheese ones! Of course, the classic farmers cheese is great too! They also sell some varieties with no sugar added. While you're here, if you are looking for an alcoholic beverage, grab a framboise! It's beer that doesn't taste like beer. I'd say it's more of a carbonated fruity taste...kind of more like a sparkling wine. I did not grab one but I was excited to see they sell it. Just a couple notes: there's no public restrooms and it does not have its own parking lot. There's a lot of street parking for free though!

Being in the area though and having seen all the very positive reviews in Yelp I was compelled to stop in and give this business a try was was not disappointed. The sausages and Ham lunch meat I bought were well made and delicious and as good as any I have tried in the Metro Detroit area. The store also has a fairly wide and diverse assortment of Polish food/staples which I did not try during this trip but looked very tempting to me. Overall, if you are in the Hamtramck area and are into good authentic Polish Kielbasa as I am, you should definately check this business out. The positive reviews are well deserved in my opinion and this a business that needs to be sampled to be truly appreciated!
