It was a breath of fresh air to be out in nature. A perfect place to jog,kayak, fish, hike, have a picnic or just come and take a scroll. Not crowded and everyone social distances themselves. I came across a few people walking with their dogs. All dogs MUST be on a lease. Really enjoyed the scenery and the water from the river and lake was calming and peaceful.

Cons: 1) It's hard to find a single complaint...but I guess if I had to name one, there are plenty of parking but they are not close to the playground. To name a few items, there is a sandbox, rocking boat, lemonade stand, small slides, firetruck with pull-up bar, and merry-go-around. 2) The other section is situated along Clarendon Hills Road and it is for older children. It is a large playground with steep slides, tall monkey bars, corkscrew climbers, rock climbing wall, swing sets, and spiralizing ladders. Even though this section is meant for older children, there is a small section for young toddlers that has short slides and ladybug and bumblebee rides. 3) There are plenty of parking for both sections and the both parking lots are close to the playgrounds. 4) There are tennis courts nearby which works out perfectly for our preschooler to have a small tennis session with her daddy before going to the playgrounds. Cons: 1) Both playgrounds can get crowded on the weekends. However, it is close to the library. On a hot, summery day, it is easy to just go across the street and freshen up at the library.

Lifeguards every few feet from you - and I actually love that those teenagers bark at other teens, some as old as them, when they're not following rules, ie encroaching on someone else's safety. High and low dive and a pontoon teens can swim 50 yards over 15' to 18' deep water to hang out with friends and no parents ( the pontoon reminds me of penguins or seals on one their annual remotely and isolated beaches - I'm confident similar biological urges are play for them as well ). There's a rigorous swim test for younger youth, which is perfect bc I'd only feel comfortable with smaller sized kids 50 yards out on the pontoon with twelve to fifteen 16 yo boys and four to five teen females. Every part of the beach area, water and the common ground where hundreds of families chill all day on Sat and Sun. Love it.

When we arrived, we noticed a large crowd gathered outside. We walked up to the admissions area, where an employee informed us that the facility had reached capacity due to a major swim event. Because of this, they were only allowing season pass holders to enter and were not selling day passes. We completely understand that facilities have occupancy limits and appreciate the staff for enforcing them. Our frustration is with the lack of communication beforehand. A major event with limited public access should have been clearly posted on the website well in advance so families wouldn't make the trip unnecessarily. To make matters more confusing, the hours listed on Apple Maps and Google Maps were inaccurate, and the website was difficult to navigate. The notice about the capacity restrictions wasn't posted until about an hour before we were turned away. While we were there, we heard several other families expressing the same frustration. No hard feelings toward the employees--they were simply doing their jobs. However, the organization behind the website and event planning should do a much better job communicating closures, capacity limits, and special events to the public.

The course is a par 3 course so it shouldn't be treated like a ultra competitive professional course. You should have fun with it, and my group definitely did. The course offered enough obstacles to make you think how you need to pay, and the greens were a fun challenge. On the downside, there were definitely some bad divits on the Fairway and some bad patches on the green that weren't that big a deal, but when putting and there is bald patch on your line, it makes it that much harder to hit your putt. Finally the markers for teeing off were definitely moved around and the range to green was definitely not right fortunately we had a range finder. Overall though great experience, and I will definitely be returning to practice my mid range game.

I'd not be surprised if this park isn't the gem of the Elmhurst Park District. They have events here for families and adults. There's tons of parking. There's currently construction underway on a new park district on a new community center, so it will be great to see what takes place there. In the meantime I'm looking forward to checking out the playground and splash pad and maybe playing some mini golf.

The obstacle course is a fun activity for adults. My brother and I challenged each other to see who could complete the course under a minute. It served as a good testament for some friendly sibling rivalry. The only downside is the tennis courts were converted to pickleball courts. So although it can still serve our purpose for tennis lessons, it isn't the most ideal with the small courts and lower nets.

There are large expanses of grass and on the south side of the park near the pond is a particularly pretty area with several large weeping willow trees. I especially enjoy the park in spring and fall because it is peaceful. You'll likely see many squirrels, Canada geese, ducks, and maybe a bunny. Watch your step in some areas! When I say many geese, I mean MANY geese. Meander around the sledding hill. There's a nice view from the top and, if you look carefully at the surrounding thickets, you'll find secret passageways. There are ropes to hold to but the little daredevil in her would just run across so it is important to be watchful of the child and be sure they won't trip and fall through the ropes. 2) The whole playground has a rubbery ground so it is very comfortable and safe. 3) There is a splash pad in between the toddler and older children sections. I am uncertain when it actually turns on. We have been twice, once at 9 AM and a second time at 3:30 PM. It was on in the afternoon and several kids were running in and out of the splash pad. It's a great option to have when it's hot and sunny out. 4) There are six tennis courts nearby and this works out perfectly for our preschooler to squeeze in a tennis session with her daddy before or after the playgrounds. Cons: 1) Not a con at all - But the playground is so vast that I can barely capture the whole frame in one picture!
