An oversized Homer Simpson doll welcomes you as you enter the store. A very kind young woman was working there the day I visited and she told me that the orchards were opened. Other than the orchards there is only the small store. Again, nothing fancy, but what matters is the quality of the products which I thought was excellent. There isn't hot apple cider but there is cold apple cider in the fridge and a slushie machine where you can fill your own slushie cup for $2. The cup provided was twice as large as the slushie I bought at Franklin Cider Mill for a whopping $4. I could tell that there are no preservatives added to Brookwood's cider. The cider was excellent and perhaps some of the best I have tasted, and I've been to a lot of cider mills this season. I will definitely return to Brookwood and continue to support this family business.

This Sweet Business is Located at 1950 E. Avon Rd. near 23 Mile Rd and Dequindre. It is My monthly stop after visiting My Parents at the cemetery on Hamlin Nearby Yates Cider off Dequindre. Yates is celebrating 163 Years of Fresh Made Cider from Apples grown on the property and nearby to be Mashed in their pressing Machine located inside this sweet business. Naturally they close for the winter but open the first week of May till after Halloween. Stop in to see the farm animals for kids, play area and plenty of picnic tables to sit and enjoy a glass of cider and their famous plain or cinnamon sugar donut. ( Photos attached) The past 3 times when I have stopped to shop the donuts have been freshly baked and warm to enjoy before I drive home with a Gallon of cider and 4 other donuts cuz I always eat 2 there with a couple swigs of cider. There's walking trails near the water so pack your hiking or walking tennis shoes for us ladies in flip flops or sandals. Pets are welcome on leash. Inside the business is their clean and stocked store with Homemade Donuts of Cinnamon, Plain & Powdered, Apple Fritters on Friday, Jams, Jellies, Pocket Pies, Cookies and also Sparkling Cider in the Fall. Absolute staples for any good diet is what they grow for us. They also have fertile eggs and desem bread baked in their own brick oven including one from spelt. These are all of the things that I used to haunt food co-ops and Whole Foods looking for. Once I discovered Hampshire Farm's I stopped that. Now all of my grains, beans and seeds come from Michigan grown by people I see every Saturday. They staff the Royal Oak and Eastern Market. farmers market year around. I've also seen them at the Oakland County market.
