For years, I…read moredelayed having a tooth removed and getting a dental implant, even though my dentist had given me a "green light" long ago. After researching and looking for recommendations for a trustworthy specialist, I found this office- and I couldn't be happier with my decision. From my very first appointment to "graduation" (as the wonderful front desk staff jokingly called the completion of my treatment), everything was smooth, professional and thoroughly explained. Dr. A. Katsnelson is simply outstanding! He is so gentle and skilled that I did not need any additional pain medication throughout the entire process. The entire team is friendly, welcoming and genuinely cares about their patients. From the moment you walk through the door, you feel comfortable and well cared for. If you're looking for a professional, experienced, and attentive oral surgeon, look no further. I highly recommend Dr. A. Katsnelson and his exceptional team!

The Treatment Plan/Estimate showed many discounts, but I got skeptical about all the "IF"s, contingencies, and additions, even before new implants, so I went to another, , surgeon, who did my bone graft and sinus elevation 2 days later, and his out-of-Network plan/estimate was lower than Dr. Katsnelson's in-Network Estimate/Plan. Also, this office took a $3,000 deposit, which other dentists usually did not do before completing the treatment. I attached my Treatment Plan/estimate from Dr. Katsnelson for your judgement. Today the office manager, Elena, called me to follow up, address my concerns, and answer my questions, and she impressed me by her courtesy, patience, attention to detail, and common sense, so I upgraded my review to 4 stars. Thanks Elena!

Awful experience that I had a few years ago and still think about to this day. My jaw now clicks…read moreevery time I open it and I was not able to eat anything for 2 weeks after because I could not open my mouth. Truly a awful place

On 09/29/23, I had an appointment with Dr. Kanter for the removal of my four wisdom teeth. I am,…read moresuffice it to say, disappointed with the outcome, and was made to feel objectified while under his care. While I understand that medical procedures can sometimes be unpredictable, my experience left me with several concerns. During my appointment, Dr. Kanter, allegedly, encountered difficulty in finding a vein for the administration of anesthesia. He poked me several times in each arm, 4-5 in total, without success. I have a fear of needles, and was very lightheaded, near fainting, after these attempts. Dr. Kanter then asked if he could remove my wisdom teeth using only local anesthetic. I said yes, and received 4 painful novocaine shots to my lower jaw only. When he began, I could feel what he was doing. I made noise, and was visibly crying, but couldn't speak due to the numbing of my lower jaw. Due to the pain and trauma of the experience, Dr. Kanter only removed one of my wisdom teeth during the appointment. Throughout the appointment, Dr. Kanter and his assistants commented not only on my weight, but also on the scarring I have on my arms. They spoke about me as if I were not sitting right in front of them, and I could not say anything, as my mouth was numb. Afterwards, I was prescribed a day's worth of painkillers. The numbing began to wear off very quickly, and I was in extreme pain. Two hours later, my pharmacy had yet to receive the prescription. My mother called, and Dr. Kanter's office informed her that they were not at fault, and nothing could be done. Shortly after she called, the order arrived at my pharmacy, which I found to be somewhat suspect. I was hoping for a smoother experience, considering the nature of the procedure and the discomfort associated with wisdom teeth. Communication during the appointment was abysmal, and I wasn't prepared for the change in plans. I believe that it's important for medical professionals to be well-prepared for a range of scenarios, and while I understand that complications can arise, I was left with trauma from this experience. I strongly encourage others to exercise caution with Dr. Kanter and make their own judgments.

DENTAL IMPLANT Required... Currently have to get an…read moreextraction and implant for an old root canal that had fractured at the root... something I had an inkling was happening - but not showing up on x-rays in 2013... so I waited per my dentist, and now there was evidence of the exact issue in 2014... when I switched to a non-employer dental plan, which did not cover implants (urgh)... Anywhoo, that is the situation, and my impetus to find an oral surgeon that would discount to Cigna rates, even if they were considered out of network. Without insurance negotiated rates, the str8 OOP (out-of-pocket) for extraction, bone graft, post, abutment and crown... was in the $3700+ range. HOW I FOUND THIS OFFICE So, there are dental discount plans supposedly allowing you to get Cigna negotiated rates... i.e. 50% off, so the ROI seemed reasonable to spend $135 for that... would be made up in this procedure and then some... and I looked for an oral surgeon locally that was supposedly accepting of this - with a good review on Yelp. OFFICE / SERVICE Now FINALLY getting to the review... THIS oral surgeon was on the list and on Yelp... so I scheduled a consult, taking my general dentist's proposed treatment plan (he is a great normal dentist, but not sure about getting an implant done from him necessarily)... had the DDS email over the x-rays as well. Walked in, and the Russian (?) receptionist or office manager was a little aggressive about upfront charges for the consult $110, and having to get better x-rays ($230 / 450? don't recall a lot of numbers were flying at me) and what insurance I had, etc. It was a little annoying... I just wanted to get an idea of pricing based on the estimate I had already gotten, with the Cigna discounts factored in, because it seemed like the fee schedule would be significantly less... not the case. Regardless, it would have been nice to just get that there were expected charges and review to see if their fee schedule would be adjusted BEFORE I came in, that is essentially what I had asked for on the phone... and they said it would be handled at the appointment. Apparently I should have insisted. 8-/ SYNOPSIS The price was essentially the same as my dentist, and I didn't like the money-grubby vibe. The place was difficult to find, behind a McDonalds in one of those older 80s brown brick commercial parks... maybe I'm being a little judgy, but the basement sectional furniture does not give the impression of a successful practice... and the attitude from the office staff definitely chased away this client.

DR. NICKEL LITERALLY SAVED MY LIFE! Prior to him, my health had declined for 25 yrs, not knowing…read morethe cause. Several auto immune diseases developed, to where many days I couldn't function. I found out through Dr. Nickel, I had blood infection and bone infection/dead bone in my jaw (due to a failed procedure when I was 15 yrs old to remove a wisdom tooth). That oral surgeon (don't remember his name) neglected to inform my family he left a portion of my tooth in me which became very neurotoxic. Prior to Dr. Nickel, I found out from a dentist, 30 yrs after the failed procedure, the wisdom tooth chip was still in me. So, a 2nd surgery attempt was made to remove the chip, but the tooth wouldn't budge and was on a nerve. The nerves were wrapped around the tooth. Another failed attempt! I actually almost died the next day from the infection being stirred and pushed further in me. I then met Dr. Nickel, who took an x-ray and showed me I had dead bone in my jaw. No dentist ever told me / showed me this on the x-ray. I was nervous for him to perform the surgery, after two failed attempts from past surgeons and almost dying the second time, but he was confident and put me at complete ease. I was also taken aback by his genuine, humble demeanor. He is a very kind-hearted, patient man and is the "go-to oral surgeon" in the area for complex patients. The procedure was a complete success! I had a 3-month, 6-month, and 18-month follow up and everything healed beautifully. There was no nerve damage, and my energy came back, among other things. Thank you, Dr. Nickel, from the bottom of my heart. You are a good man. God bless you!
