I had to cancel my cleaning because of a severe tendinitis flare in my shoulder and knee -- I physically couldn't drive or sit through the appointment. When I called to explain, the response was flat and unsympathetic. I was told the next available cleaning wasn't until October, with no offer of a cancellation list and no attempt to help. What makes this especially frustrating is that they call me about once a week asking if I want to come in for last‑minute openings when they have cancellations. But when I had a legitimate medical issue, suddenly there was no flexibility and no interest in accommodating a long‑time patient. After three decades with this practice, I wasn't asking for anything unreasonable -- just basic courtesy. The way this was handled made it clear that loyalty doesn't count for much here anymore. At this point, I'm planning to find a different dentist for myself, my kids, and anyone else I care about. I still believe they could have handled this with more understanding, but they chose not to, and that's what ultimately pushed me to move on.

However, since the North American Dental Group has been involved, the scheduling and check in procedures have become bureaucratic and unnecessarily onerous. I find it particularly objectionable that all the calls are routed through the call center. When I call the dentist's office about my individual care, I expect to talk to someone who can actually answer my questions. This has led to a situation where I have been unable to schedule a 6 month routine dental exam. Instead, I could only schedule an appointment for 8 months out and be on a waiting list for an earlier appointment should someone else cancel. This is unacceptable!

Fast forward two years later, only to find out that the root canal I had performed was not done correctly. After seeing an endontist and two other specialists, I was informed that the post was put THROUGH my tooth and was sticking into my jaw. (please see the photo of the xray taken) As of yesterday, 11/12/2014, the tooth was removed, and a bone graft was put in place. What should have been a simple procedure is now going to cost nearly $5500. As I sat there yesterday, looking at the tooth with the hole right through it, it saddened me to know that I walked away from there and was not informed of the mistake the day that it occurred. I can only hope that other patients take great caution with their trust.

The first thing the doctor said after checking $200 worth of CT scan and over $50 worth of x-rays is "I don't know." He said that he might do a root canal but first they gotta check with the insurance if they will pay or no. Some days later, I receive a call from the old lady that works at the front desk, talking about money and payment, and when I asked her about a charge that was on my dental insurance, she started acting like she cannot hear me, and from the way she acted, it was obvious that she was making it up. The moment I walked into the dentist, it was obvious that all they cared about was the money, not to treat people because they spoke to me more about money than about my condition, especially the front desk lady. She's very unprofessional and she kicks clients away with her attitude.

My body genuinely froze in fear and I pleaded with my dentist to find another way. She told me it could not be delayed anymore and offered me a few different referrals. When discovering how much it was going to cost (my dental insurance had been maxed out for the year), I felt even more defeated. I called the offices that my dentist suggested, Dr. Karras being one of the options, as well as a handful of other endodontists. Dr. Karras was on par with most of the endodontists I had called, but I decided to go with him because my dentist was sooooo insistent that Dr. Karras is the BEST for root canals and that is who she trusts as her endodontist. I really did believe my dentist when she said it because she had repeated it so many times but I couldn't help but feel so terrified because of my first root canal experience being so horrible. However, the experience at Dr. Karras's office was fantastic from start to finish. Anda who was the woman I spoke with on the phone was empathetic, direct, and was so helpful when I was asking questions about the service and costs. A lot of other places were clearly annoyed with my questions about cost and a little ambiguous on what the total cost would be but Anda had no problem being direct which put my heart at ease. She was also so kind and understanding when I was telling her I was struggling because of the pain I was in with my tooth but still felt hesitant to pay out of pocket. I felt like the other offices were just a "say you'll pay or just hang up" attitude. The technician I had for the root canal was also amazing. I so wish I remembered her name because she was SO sweet. She was so empathetic and really put her best effort to help calm me down when I was shaking from fear. She asked me questions about my life to distract me, told me about herself, and even offered to hold my hand when I was getting overwhelmed. With an office with such great employees, it's no surprise that Dr. Karras is just as amazing. He seems intimidating at first because he just has a strong presence and is very straight-forward but he clearly knew exactly what he was doing. He was patient with me when I was telling him I was scared and was literally shaking and breathing heavily from fear. He just told me not to worry he was nonchalant but not in a passive or arrogant way at all. It was just confirming that he was an expert and to trust him. I have to say, it was pretty painless. Not AT ALL like my first experience. It obviously was a little painful for the numbing shots since the area was highly sensitive but other than that and the intial drilling for the numbing shot for the tooth, it was like like wham bam done. I know my dentist said Dr. Karras was the best but this was even better than my expectations! Root canals are no longer one of my fears in life! Though...I still hope I don't need anymore. I highly commend AND recommend the Karras Endotontist team. I really can't say enough about all of them. I am truly grateful.

Dr Marinic and his team were absolutely amazing from start to finish. They were very throughout and knowledgeable, explaining every step and making me a big part of the decision process. I am beyond satisfied with the results i got. My teeth look beautiful and natural. It's been 6 months since my final visit so I did wait to review to make sure no issues arised after but everything is still strong and solid. I needed a crown and after sitting in the chair a new dentist popped up and said Hi I'll be helping you today, with no time to think in my emergency situation I just let him take care of me. In reality as soon as I made an appointment they should've specified that there was a different Dentist that took over the practice. My temporary crown fell off 2 days later, which might not be so bad, but they had no emergency plan in place. I was having some pain and left a message Saturday morning asking for help on what to do and left a email as directed. Unfortunately no call back just a e- mail around 6pm Sunday evening by that time I got it figured out. I must say the worst part of my whole experience was leaving after my work was completed and still not feeling well because of the receptionist The receptionist or bar bouncer looking woman..Couldn't of been more cavemen like and rude. Insurance paid 1/2 already and I paid off the other half and still owed a small amount I decided I wanted to make payments to make sure my work was secure. I have never been treated so poorly by receptionist in my whole life . After stating I needed to make the rest of my payment in full immediately. I asked her if they did payments, she said no I need to make it before I leave. I told her I didn't have the money at this time but I have a good job, so I can make payments. Funny, but I actually am a Bill Collecter for a hospital. I know patients can make payments in any situation. She told me nobody there is allowed payment everyone pays upfront or after every service in full. I watched another man make a payment arrangement at my first visit, so that was a lie. The desk or bouncer acting person then said "sorry if you don't make enough money to pay, but that's not my problem" What....How rude... Trying to belittle me was such a immature and ugly look on a person that needs to have a good personality to make herself look good already. If I talked to a patient like she did I would expect to get fired and with good reason. Stay clear of this place, not only is the front desk girl combative but shouldn't be working with the public and has no social skills. She called around and Dr. Wostl was in her network and was able to get in and see him right away. She came home raving avout the service to the extent that I felt as though I would be providing them a disservice by not writing this review. They greeted her at the door, not even allowing her to sit down first. The staff is very upbeat. The team cohesiveness is outstanding likely due to the many years they have worked together. Dr. Wostl explained to her in detail everything about her cracked tooth and thoroughly explained her options. Today she is feeling much better thanks to Dr. Wostl and his staff. She even decided to make him her new dentist even though she lives an hour and a half away.
