jessica, i'm sorry that a broken spindle housing is not something that husqvarna covers in there warranty . i did call and ask for warranty coverage on this failure they declined it . we have strict guidelines to follow to keep our warranty certification. i again will provide you with husqvarnas case number to allow you to speak to the factory rep that declined it and see if they will change there mind , or give you a more detailed explanation case# 180912-002100

diag: arrived at the customer location to evaluate the unit and address the customers concerns . the customer stated he used the mower 4-5 hours per week mowing "a couple of property's" , he stated he has only changed the oil 2 times ( once after 5 hours and some time after that) and by the customer own admission of usage it should be on its 5th oil change. the air filter is 100% clogged and the customer had carburetor & fuel problems . he said he took it to a "friend" who replaced the carburetor , his friend didnt install the throttle linkage bushing and that is causing the unit to surge. the customer also said it slid down hill , he showed me the hill and it was 30-45 deg , i told him the unit is rated to operate on a hill up to a 15 deg. the customer became irate that i couldn't do anything about any of his problems under warranty. i tried to explain that the warranty wouldn't cover a repair made by a non certified technician , and we couldn't "warranty" a part that is no longer available for inspection . at that point he became aggressive and took a few steps getting into my face and stated "you dont tell me your not going to fix this f**king thing under the warranty , i paid $1200 and your going to fix it or else . i said we can certainty fix it but the repair would not be covered by any warranty ( mfg or epp) thats when he started yelling at me and calling me a "piece of sh*t" , saying im not giving you a f**king dime and you will fix it or else. i had removed the hood and air filter to inspect the unit , when the customer escalated into rage i left fearing for the safety of myself and my employee. its not common practice to leave a unit disassembled, but in this instance the situation and the customers attitude were getting out of control quickly. read more
