My car would not turn over and needed to be towed from my home to be serviced. State Farm Insurance provides road side assistance. I made the call to request a tow to State Farm and was told "McDevitt's" would arrive in an hour. The tow came about 15 minutes later. Besides being so quick to respond, the driver, Carlos, jumped my car using his cables and big truck battery. My car would not turn over so Carlos quickly got my car on its way to service. When I looked up McDevitt's to share this review I was reminded that McDevitt's also does auto repair. I almost called McDevitt's to ask him take my car there. If I'm not happy with the estimate to repair my vehicle from another local service center I will take it to McDevitt's. It's so important to share the positive about people who do their job with polish, pride and people skills. The professionalism of Carlos just put a shine on McDevitt's and reminded me to support local business as well. There are a lot of good people in the world and they can make all the difference. These people are amazing. I had an awful experience getting my car towed off of the expressway by AAA after 2 of my tires blew. It took over three hours and the police finally had McDevitt's come and do the job for me. Brent was so wonderful and patient and really went above and beyond as well as Holly who had my car towed to the dealership the next morning without me even having to make a call first. They are rip off they have a lady working there front desk when i called in last week she said they take credit cards and then i gave my info and then 20 minutes later just before the driver showed up she called they only except cash that there machine was not working. her name was Jennifer i ask after i found out this was false after the fact. In fact i think her and the driver were both in on it because he said the exact same statement. my dad called better business we are reporting this. read more

Several wires in my car got fried so my entire car died and I had to get it towed to an auto shop. The guy that showed up was extremely friendly and let me sit in his truck with the heater as he loaded up my car, since it was freezing outside. He was very knowledgeable and helpful with whatever I needed. The reason I'm giving it four stars, is because I had to get it towed again, so I called the company and they sent somebody out. I was hoping it would the same guy, but it was a different, older gentleman. The first guy knew all of the details beforehand and took care of everything. This guy just said hi to me then proceeded to load up my car without saying anything else or smiling. I was going to be riding in the tow truck again, but he had not given me permission or anything to sit in his truck, so I tried waiting out there in the cold until my fingers hurt so bad and I was so cold that I tried to see if I could get in. The door was locked and the guy was preoccupied with the machinery so I stood out there for several minutes longer absolutely freezing. Then he finally comes around and was like, "Are you riding in the truck?" Uh, yeah. The first guy knew and thus let me sit in his truck. This guy didn't know and left me standing out there in the cold, even though I gave the receptionist lady on the phone all of the details like I did last time. Once I got my car towed to the second auto place, the guy was impatient. The lady on the phone told me he would be able to give me a ride back to my apartments, which he didn't know about until I mentioned it. I had to go in and let the auto company know what was going on and get my car checked in, but had to wait because they were extremely busy. The guy came in and wanted to know if I was ready. I wasn't, so he went back out. Not even five minutes later, he comes back in while I'm still waiting and gets a little gruff, wondering what I'm doing and if I'm ready to go. Luckily the manager, a very kind lady, stepped in and explained to him that I had to fill out paperwork and it would take a few minutes. I filled out everything as fast as I could because I knew the guy had to be busy and didn't have time to wait so I didn't want to be rude. I even apologized to him when I was done and ready to go. In the end, the guy finally smiled when I hopped out of the truck and I told him to have a blessed day when I got to my apartment. I would love to give five stars, but being left out in the cold where my fingers hurt all night even being in my warm house for hours, and the guy not knowing anything and being a little gruff left me feeling a little less than happy after having an extremely stressful day. read more

I had a flat tire at C,A, and 20 at Ives Grove, WI. Called AAA at 3:20 P.M. They sent the request fo McDevitt's. I waited until 5:30---still no one. Called McDevitt's. Said there was a mixup and that most drivers had gone home. Maybe they could change the tire by 8:30--5 hours after the original call. I was called by my son (who has a back problem). I am 73 years old and I changed it. McDevitts should be removed from the AAA partners list. This is a nest of incompetence. read more

Outstanding drivers!!!! Courteous, helpful and friendly. I called for towing when our car wouldn't start. Brought a flatbed for my suv. Nice, professnal guys who gave me some advice so we wouldn't get ripped off by the mechanic. And they were right. Flat tire on a Friday afternooon. Called AA at 3:30 p.m. and was told it would be an hour. Called after an hour, told to wait another half hour. Called again, issue escalated, no updated ETA provided. Didn't show up until 6:30 - 3 hours later! Driver said dispatcher never put through the order, then there was a shift change and second dispatcher entered it after 2+hrs of waiting. Talked to the office manager later who blamed it on AAA and said McDevitt's "drivers don't know how the dispatching works". Will be asking AAA the name of the local company next time and won't use McDevitt's! read more

Very poor customer service! My vehicle was to be picked up and towed to my mechanic's shop instead they dropped off my car at there place of business to respond to a police call which I understand is important. The auto shop and McDevitt's towing is down the road from each other. My car was delivered 2 hours later to the auto mechanic shop (which now closed) and not one phone to tell me that my car would not be delivered as planned. I only found out that my car was not delivered is when I called my mechanic after I got out of work to see if my car was fixed and he said the car was never delivered and had been sitting there for 2hrs waiting. When the car was finally delivered the driver did not put the keys in the drop box (auto shop now closed) but left them on the front seat of my car and car was unlocked. They were also 45 min late from when they told me the car would be picked up I had to keep calling them to find out where they were at also. read more

honestly if I had a choice I would put no starts att all they are horrific. I got into a very very bad car accident an had to be rushed to the hospital in an ambulance, while this was going on my purse was still in the car long story short they stole 200 dollars from me then on top of it charged me extra than wht they told me they were charging me. when I found finger prints on my wallet an hand prints in my back seat of my car from them i filed a police report an called the owner, he pretty much told me to never to contact them again yada yada an that he stood by his employees. well turns out I was right an all they got was a slap on the wrist but let me tell you you try getting hit by a semi, having your car totaled out then on top of it having 200 dollars stolen from you.
