This experience was one of the worst I've ever had at a McDonald's. I go to the drive thru and when it's my turn to order the employee just rudely says "What?" like I'm inconveniencing him? Okay whatever I just want to order so I proceed to tell him my order but he keeps interrupting and cutting me off before I can finish each order, then proceeds to mess up the order because he will not just listen to the basic requests. Once this ordeal is complete and he has the order correct I move up to pay. I pay and ask for a receipt which he gets mad that he has to print. I move up to get my food and get handed the bag only to look in and see it's missing the nuggets. Then the large fries are halfway full, the drink is wrong, the burger has onions when I ordered no onions and it says it on the receipt, the fries tasted like flimsy cardboard and looked like the grease had never been changed, the burger patty tasted old. Honestly this experience turned me off from McDonald's. I don't care about rude employees if the food is correct and good but nothing about this place was good. Avoid it if you can. read more

My breakfast experience was wonderful. The place looked like it was just renovated. Upon entering I was greeted by the workers behind the counter. Ordering at the kiosk was a breeze. When I received my food everything on my try was organized and neatly place like a business class dinner on a plane. The food was cooked to perfection. I came here with my family on 08/19/2023. I was very disappointed and grossed out when I opened the box and found a hair (seemed like fake hair since it was hard) stuck between the cheese and the burger on my Big Mac! I took it to the counter and showed the male cashier who looked at it and said "eww" and threw it away and asked to make another one. I take the new Big Mac to my table and while I was half way eating the darn burger I find another hair!! Was this on purpose!? I cannot believe how they have people working without the proper uniform meaning hair nets, beard nets, gloves, etc! I was so grossed out that I couldn't take a picture of either burgers. I hope the manager of this facility does inspections on their employees to make sure they are doing the right thing. Would definitely NOT be coming here again. Does not deserve even 1 star. I go here all the time. Their curbside and drive through is great, always accurate and timely and courteous. Made the mistake of walking in tonight and was approached by some homeless guys who verbally abused me, attempted to physically intimidate me, and panhandled as I orders at the kiosk. Took two requests to get a manager to tell the guy to "stop being here" which didn't do much to stop him from following me to my car where he threatened me. Wish management had done more. read more

Well to start off I have used this McDonald's multiple times with nothing to complain about. Tonight's experience was a horrible affair from start to finish. I first order my food. The staff is rude, short with me for no reason but I think nothing of it. It's around 11 and they are slammed. Of course service would dip just a little. Plus I mean it's McDonald's. I get my food and drive home. I look in my bag to discover they have completely messed up my order. No problem I'll call and let them know. First call I ask for a manager and immediately the phone is hung up. I'm shocked. Surely that was an accident. I call a second time. Politely ask for a manager and they hand the phone to someone else. I ask for the manager with the second person and they reply "yeah.... what?" Ok I'm starting to get upset. I explain what happened and what was incorrect with my order to which they say " Well do you have a receipt?" I say yes. Then I'm told "Well drive back we will make a new order for you. Then they hang up the phone..... again. I get to the store, discover that the lady manager I talked to on the phone was not a manager and the real manager has no idea what I'm talking about. I present him with a receipt and finally get my food. An hour later. So this may be my last visit to this particular McDonald's and their corporate office will definitely be getting a call about the awful, terrible customer service that this shift displayed. read more

I use the drive though window quite a bit for ice cream cravings and such....... always .... always are nearly all the employees on their phones, rude, and rolling their eyes with major attitude. My husband and I were sitting down eating our food and one of the construction workers came up to us and TOLD us we HAD to leave because they were about to start working. Ok? We're eating! Clean, updated McDonalds. There were 3 homeless people huddled inside because it was 16 degrees outside. One guy named Van politely asked if I had any change to spare, but I rarely ever have cash on me these days. I offered to buy him a warm breakfast instead and he was very appreciative. He told me he stays at the local homeless shelter. While we were waiting for our food, one of the young gentlemen who worked there asked a homeless lady if she'd like a warm cup of coffee. I thought that was really kind of him. We need more kindness in this world. I appreciate seeing it in the staff here. Bless this establishment for their humanity. On 3 separate occasions, 2 for breakfast and one for dinner, I was automatically charged for a larger combo meal than was being advertised without being asked. When I asked to talk to the manager about this for the second breakfast order, she tersely said they automatically upcharge for breakfast because no one wants just a small coffee. She said, "If it makes you happy, here is your change back". Also, the french fries at this McDonalds are usually somewhat stale or lukewarm, probably because they premade way too many. It is a shame that this and other McDonalds in the Northern Virginia area have this problem. McDonalds biggest selling point used to be the quality of their french fries. read more

Don't judge me....because I'm not listening to you anyway. I was hungry. I jumped in my car and went on a quest for breakfast. After several failed attempts, I decided to give it one last try to find food. I was in luck. :) I used the drive-thru on 12-25-2020 for a good breakfast. I was very happy. I had the hot cakes and sausage, two hash browns, a large orange juice and a large sweet tea (for later). I asked not to have any butter, because butter is nasty; and asked for an extra thing of syrup. The order taker was very happy sounding which was a welcomed surprise considering that she was working while most people were at home. My order was right and quick. Very pleasant workers. I have eaten here before and can see myself coming back here again. When I got home and looked at my receipt closely I did notice that I was charged $0.20 for the extra syrup!! I'm not going to call them up, but it's customary to let the consumer know when the merchant is going to charge them a fee for something extra BEFORE the merchant completes the order. Luckily I was feeling mellow today, otherwise I would be getting my $0.20 refund. Thanks for feeding me this morning. I needed it. read more

I can't bear to give a McDonald's more than three stars because, well, it's McDonald's, but I gotta say, this one was better than most. There were no Starbucks within walking distance of my hotel, so I setled on McD's. Might as well give the coffee there a try, right? The place was very clean, and they made my food fresh, which certainly helped it taste better. Along with my Egg McMuffin I got a Mocha and prepared to compare. They didnt ask if I wanted whipped cream, which I never get on my coffee at the 'Bucks, so that was disappointing. They poured what I imagine would be the equivalent of a "shit ton" of chocolate syrup in it. So much so, that it really didnt taste like coffee anymore. Not that thats a bad thing, since I usually get the drinks that taste the least like coffee anyway, but it is a darn good thing I am not diabetic. That mocha was liquid dessert for sure. I don't think I'd start my day with it ever again, but if I ever have a late night chocolate sugar craving, that is exactly where I am headed. read more

There were people working and a couple of them even looked at me -- they did not acknowledge me but they looked my way. I was the ONLY person there. After not even getting any recognition for 5 minutes, I left. This is the second location that I have been ignored and I have left. On December 24th, my wife, motherl-in-law and son stopped for some coffee. It was late and the only way to get coffee is waiting in line as the doors were closed. We were about five cars in the line and for about twenty minutes we finally made it to the place to order. Several cars behind us and one in front of us bailed out as the wait was really bad. We got our coffee...just two coffee and we asked for two creams in each of them. She repeated it and even had it up on the screen. We drove off and and as we were going down the road, I took a drink and knew that there was no cream in the coffee..and none for my wife too. Traffic was bad and of course I wasn't going to wait in line again just to get cream. I put the top back on as I was driving and tried to take another drink and the top wasn't on correctly. I spilled it on myself and got a bad burn...it removed about a quarter size skin from my left side. My pants and shirt were hot from the splash and I was wet and screaming. If I were you, I would NEVER go to this MacDonalds, I intend to go and introduce myself to the owner and demand my money back! read more

Plus - it's got wall outlets to plug your phone charger or laptop in, parking isn't usually an issue and it's easy to find and get to from Richmond Highway. The worst. Is it too much to ask for fresh food after paying. Always between 430 am and 5am. On my way to work you ask for your meal to be fresh. And you expect it to be. I would love to order a Apple pie to go with my breakfast, that is actually edible. When I get to work, it's rock hard crust, and the filling is like a gummy bear was melted in the middle of it. Ridiculous, the coffee is always filled to the complete top of the cup, so when you remove the cap, you get burned. Egg McMuffin, delight bun is always stale, and the ham is so tough. They keep the grease for ever, so when you're eating an hash brown, it always taste like a fillet of fish. They only give you good service and be kind when someone from corporate is there, then the food comes out at any time of the day, hot and fresh, and they are very polite, too bad, they can't stay that way. They are very rude when you ask for something to be changed. Quick to slam the drive through window in your face. read more

OK- it's McDonalds- but for the McDs in the Alexandria/local area this is better than most I've been to. The seating area stays pretty clean due to a new manager. How do I know he's new? He walked up and asked me if I had any impressions of this place. So... I told him what I thought. It was clean, the service was good, the cashier seemed friendly- for the 2.40-something I spent there on an espresso and 2 apple pies I was pleased. The drive through seemed to be getting full- but it was getting near dinner time. This new manager seemed to want to succeed, I hope he does. I see why this McDonalds ratings are extremely low! The cashier had a very bad attitude and did not greet me at all. I asked for my food to be freshly dropped and she acted as if I was asking her to leave her register to do it. She looked at me, rolled her eyes and walked away from her register and told them what I asked for and then they started whispering back and forth and they started looking at me with an attitude and started laughing. Their customer service was so childish/child like and I'm sure everyone here is 18+. I hope they shut this place down after all these horrible reviews so they can see how much losing this job would hurt them and that customers aren't asking them to do any favors.
