The pastry cases were filled with yummy treats from sweets to savory. Everything was colorful, vibrant and looked delicious! Today I opted for a lemon blueberry Mochi doughnut and the Coffee Cronut. Both 10/10 I think they had the best MOCHI doughnut I've had thus far...was giving more of a mini funnel cake...I can't wait to come back and try some more. I was very impressed with the wide variety of pastries available. I've had both savory and sweet pastry options and will say that I prefer the sweet ones (Apple turnover, danish) instead. The only savory option I enjoyed was the loaded hash brown which tasted great and was super filling. A gem located in a random shopping center in Alexandria, VA. Perfect to meet friends and colleagues right outside of 395. The pastries are amazing! Really fresh and very well presentation. The concept is that you grab a tray and tongs and select the pastries, sandwiches or bread and go to the cashier. Very efficient and the employees keep it very clean and organized. I love the croissants (super fresh!) and the croissant donut. Coffee is really good. The whole cakes and slices look and taste amazing. I haven't tried the bread, but they look delicious. Okay so, I originally came to Paris Baguette after seeing the Dubai Chocolate Matcha Latte. Shamelessly I've been avoiding the Dubai chocolate hype but for some reason, I decided to drive 11 mins to this Paris baguette and try it LOL. We'll, they were wrong LOL. Talk about sugar rush yall. I drank it really fast so the chocolate on top didn't mix, honestly this was my favorite part and I ate it with a spoon. I ordered a Provence Chicken Pesto Baguette - - very tasty, quite yummy. I brought it home and heated it up per the instructions of the young woman who helped me (500° for a minute and 15 seconds). Turned out wonderful. Also purchased a fruit pastry that was quite good, especially since they hold up well. It's not like it came right out of the oven and very excellent puff pastry, but very good for a pastry that can sit out. I also purchased a Strawberry Pistachio Cake Slice. To me, the pistachio taste was a bit artificial. It didn't stop me from eating it. I shared all these items and my friend also thought they were quite good. I also purchased a peach iced tea. A little sweet for my taste, but that won't stop me from getting it again and maybe adding a little water when I get home. Wish the store was closer to my home. It's a little out of my way. All items have a homemade taste and feel but made as quick as fast food. The customer service is very friendly and the engaging individuals are very much appreciated. When you walk in you pick up a tray, place a sheet of wax paper on it and grab a set of tongs to pick up the items you select. There are tempting options on your right and your left. There are so many tempting options, it's hard to choose which ones to select. I selected a breakfast pastry and a fruit pastry. I'm so happy to see such a cute pastry/coffee shop in my hood! This may not be the healthiest place for breakfast, but it probably is the most fun. I saw an array of sweets on display, plus some heathier items like small ham and cheese sandwiches. Apparently they are a sandwich shop as well, but I didn't check out those options. I love the ambiance of watching the bakers through large windows do their work; that was a nice touch. I got a very basic latte, but was more than happy with it. It's dog friendly as well. I visited this place mid-day on a Thursday and it was a bit crowded. There is a parking lot in front with a bunch of space, but with the other businesses nearby it may fill up quick. This was my first time visiting, so I wasn't familiar with the tray situation, but there were instructions on a sign when you walk in. The place was bright, and clean, and had a huge selection. Just past the fill a plate section is a cold sandwich and drink cooler that had a lot of good cold sandwich options and then the counter with cakes and cake slices. Paris Baguette was unknown to me until yesterday as I tried them for the first time (4/30). The shop's atmosphere is light and airy and smells like fresh pastries and coffee. I walked around and noticed all the great pastries- some sweet some savory, sandwiches, salads, etc. They were busy as I went in around noon. Another customer was nice enough to help me find the trays to pick out some treats. I chose the Feuillete au Chocolat, Crab Meat Croquette and the Pineapple Cranberry Pastry. The counter staff was attentive and offered to warm up the Croquette I purchased. I observed other customers with craft made coffees, sweets, and even purchasing custom cakes. For the three items it costs almost 15.00. I tried the crab cake croquette, which was warm and crispy, deep fried but not greasy. The filling was tasty and lightly seasoned, but contained imitation crab. The Feuillete au Chocolat was flaky with mini chocolate chips and a light custard filling which paired well with some coffee. Of the three items the Pineapple Cranberry Pastry was my favorite. I ate it so fast I realized afterwards I didn't take a picture of it, as it initially looked too pretty to eat. It's a little pricy for me to visit daily, but a nice treat every now and then. If you haven't been there, try them out. I'm sure you'll find something you will enjoy. read more

Paris Baguette is a Korean bakery chain that originates from South Korea. They have various breads and pastries that are supposedly baked on a daily basis, all behind a bakery case, in which you obtain a tray lined with parchment paper and tongs, and make your way down to select whichever item you want. This location in Seminary Plaza had opened up recently, which was a bit of a surprise - such a random location, but, I guess it's been working out since the bakery itself was pretty busy. As other PBs, they have cakes, individual desserts, and other wrapped treats. Once you're done, just make your way to up to the cashier, where you can also order specialty hot and cold beverages or pay. We purchased a few pastries, one that was the most noticeable was the Croissant Donut - this was described as a flakey croissant donut, filled with custard cream, and topped with a lemon icing; I was surprised that this wasn't 'stale', but it actually tasted yummy and a good little treat with a cup of coffee or tea. Definitely a little messy, due to it be encrusted with sugar. Staff were pretty efficient; there seems to be limited seating here, as it's not as large as other PB spaces you can find in NoVA. But beware, they are highly addictive. We dropped by this little shop as an alternative to Tatte's, where they use canola oil for everything and I'm allergic to it--it literally makes me gag before I can get a bite down. At Paris Baguette they told me they use canola oil only for frying, an olive oil for everything else. As an aside, Canola oil should be banned from human food. It is an industrial product meant for machinery. I'm eager to get back to Paris Baguette to try their other offerings. This place is very good. We went a little late on a Friday evening so the selection wasn't the biggest but it was still pretty good. Generally most bakery's are closed by 8pm but they're open until 10pm which is nice. If and when we're in a mood for some fresh baked pastries this is always a great place. read more
