I think the menu behind Shake Shack is always elevated compared to your other fast-burger joints so the flavors will always be there. The taste of thier speciality Black Truffle burger series was good, but needed more sauce to emphasize this is not just their regular burger with a different sauce. This had been my preferred location for the last couple of months. I get the same order every time. The only shake that I like anywhere is the black and white shake at Shake shack. Unfortunately, today, I paid for one and did not receive any. Because they tried to convince me that a cookies and cream shake was the black-and-white. As if it was my first time trying it and I would not be able to see the pieces of cookie inside. The young man tried to convince me that those were actually pieces of fudge when the shake was obviously a cookies and cream shake. I have ordered them for my children before, I know what they look like. He then said if I didn't want that they could give me a chocolate shake. If you've ever had a properly made black-and-white shake, you know it is not the same as chocolate. And at this point, I didn't trust them to safely make anything for me again. They had obviously either made the wrong shake, or given my shake to someone who had ordered the cookies and cream. They're unwillingness to remake a five dollar shake. And their insistent dishonesty, lost them a regular customer. Now I need new favorite location. Ah well. The burgers are pretty good. This is a very trendy restaurant. They have a large dinning area and patio. This location is right in front of the Fashion Centre at Pentagon City Mall and has close Metro access and a nearby parking garage. Do not park in the front of the mall because they will tow you. I saw it happen while I was there. The dinning area is socially distanced and has a few televisions to watch I ordered the Smoke Shack Burger with fries. I ordered a blackberry lemonade to wash it down. It took a while to get my food, so I would recommend call your order ahead to cut down on the wait time. My burger was delicious. It was juicy and flavorful. I highly recommend it. The fries were good too. Well seasoned. The blackberry lemonade was watered down and did not have much flavor. I will not get that again. All and all this was a nice spot. It was a change of pace from your typical fast food joint. They have some good food, be it a bit higher than other fast food joints. I spent 20 bucks for a Shack burger (their basic burger), crinkle cut fries and a milkshake. The burger was tasty, seasoned well, but thin. However, it was still cooked medium well (some pink) so that was nice. It comes on a soft toasted bun with lettuce, tomatoes and shack sauce. I opted for the shack sauce on the side. You also have the option to add toppings like avocado and bacon. The fries were just basic crinkle cut fries but a lot of them were thin & hard. The milkshake was a 10 out of 10... If you are Kit OK spending $13 for a burger, fries and a drink this is a great place to go. I am not saying that they're too expensive, but they're not cheap either. However the quality of everything was excellent. I had a plain cheese burger -they call it the shake shack burger, a small order of fries and a lemonade. The burger is served with their special sauce, which I think is similar to 1000 Island dressing. The fries are crinkle cut and were very crispy and excellent! The burger was juicy the bun was soft but not soggy. The special sauce was not overly powerful. The manager reached out to me and gave me a gift card to apologize for the problem we had (which they had already apologized for at the time). It was nice to see that they really care about the customers here, we've been back several dozen times since and will continue to do so. When Shake Shack opened up their first Arlington location, we were very excited because we used to have to go to Nats Park or venture to DC for our cravings. This location is a part of the Pentagon City mall (on the outside next to Zara). You have to go outside in order to access it. My son is a big burger lover so Shake Shack is one of go-to spots for dinner. Parking could be easier (and ideally free) but I guess you can't really expect that in Arlington. The restaurant itself is a decent size and they have outdoor seating for when the weather is nice. The menu is basic, I go with the Shackburger or smokeshack, you won't be disappointed with either option. The prices aren't cheap but you get what you pay for, it's our favorite fast food burger. The service here is usually pretty decent (even when we found a hair in our food once). They replaced the burger and gave us additional fries for free. The shakes are always tasty albeit extremely filling. Overall, Shake Shack is always on point. It's family friendly and tasty. You may catch a lot of tourists at this location but hopefully it won't ruin the Shake Shack experience. read more

We ordered a couple of the Smokeshack burgers. One of them without the peppers. You have a choice of medium or well done temps and we opted for medium. A nice balance of flavors in this burger given the pickled peppers and Shack sauce. Bacon was cooked just right and not too crispy & burger meat had a slightly smoky taste to it which was good. Shake shack's quality of food is consistently yummy! This was my first visit to this location and it was great - staff was friendly and helpful, and we ordered and got our food pretty quickly (despite it being quite busy). This location is extremely convenient because if you get hungry while shopping and would like a spot to eat (outside the food court), Shake Shack is a great choice. To get to this one, it's easiest to go through the mall and out by the exit near Zara (rather than park at the parking deck and walk all the way around). Unfortunately there isn't a direct entrance from the mall into Shake Shack. We got the Shack Stack and Smoke Stack on our visit - both were very good. The Shack Stack is the most expensive burger on the menu (10.95 I believe) and it's worth the price, nothing beats that crispy mushroom with the rest of the burger and accoutrements, it's really the best choice in terms of their burger selection. The Smoke Stack was good, but not nearly as good as the Shack Stack. It also did not come with lettuce and tomatoes, I had to ask for them to be added on. Be mindful also that fries and a drink are not included, they are purchased individually from the burger as opposed to a "meal". Parking can be tricky on the street outside of this location, but there is a parking deck for the mall. If you travel by metro, it's right outside of the metro stop, making the walk over quite convenient. read more
