Love how the English muffin has been replaced with a used hockey puck found in an ashtray. Is this the new "Cajun Style," or did the toaster just have a personal vendetta against my morning? I've seen more life in a cemetery than in these charred remains. I didn't know Grimace was moonlighting as a funeral director, but thanks for sending over the cremains of my breakfast. Poor customer service. Food quality and quantity (fries) are subpar. You pay for a large fry and recieve maybe a medium. Long wait times. I always opt for curbside, only because when going through the drive thru, they always tell you to pull forward anyway, & the spots are together. Order accuracy is fairly poor regardless of time of day. read more

How can it be that a McDonald's runs out of hamburger patties? Well that happened today when we stopped there for lunch. I get Anamosa is a small market but McDonald's is a national brand, so sad. Stopped there during late morning Memorial Day 2018. Two women complained they could not find a clean table. There was only six customers in the place at the time. My wife and I both used the restrooms which were in need of attention to put it mildly. She tends to judge how much management cares about the place by how clean the windows are. It's right off the highway so it gets pretty busy and there are a lot of people who seem to work there but my food came fast and hot and tasted great and the cashier was very friendly. A little hectic in the kitchen but staff seemed like a fun group. read more

Ordered a mcmuffin with cheese and got no cheese. When we took it in we waited while the girl talked to her friend as she leaned on the counter and had to be told there was a customer waiting. when we told the problem , she asked if we wanted a piece of cheese for it. No customer service by saying sorry we will replace it just one minute. We left it on the counter and said here keep it. Manager Brittany had no sympathy what so ever when we called and talked to her. Just, Oh i remember it this morning. Maybe if you come in again we can remedy it. Every time I go into this establishment there's either someone talking to other employees in an unprofessional manner or they just never get my order correct. The straw that broke the camel's back was when I went in to order a PLAIN CHEESEBURGER and got a REGULAR CHEESEBURGER instead. Yes, they were busy, but it took them longer than it should have just to get me the incorrect burger, and another 10 minutes to figure out that I also needed the rest of my order. If I could give no stars i would. Just moved to the area and went to McDonalds to get a coffee as I did the day before. pulled out my phone to use the same coupon on the app. I was told that I could not use it. I ask why and explained I had just used it yesterday for the same coffee (ice caramel mocha) was not given an answer other than because. I paid the full price and when given the coffee it has chocolate instead of caramel I asked if this was how they made them at this store and the women said "no my bad, do u want me to add caramel?" My husband and I stopped at this McDonalds for a quick meal on our way home to WI. Standing at the counter waiting to order, I noticed there was food all over the floor, fries and ice cream, etc. one employee dropped two empty cups in front of us, and didn't even make a more to pick them up. Not one employee had their shirt tucked in, not even the manager. They all looked like slobs. We get our order and go to sit down. We had a hard time finding a clean table. The condiment counter was a dirty mess. Had a hard time getting one small container of ketchup. The ice machine was pretty much out of ice. Nothing had been wiped off in awhile. When we were done eating and went to dispose of our trash, there was NO room at the garbage container to get rid of it! We just set it on top of all the rest of the garbage. This is by far the worst McDonalds we have ever been to. They were not that busy, and no one was even making an attempt to clean up anything. The manager was no better than the rest, shuffling around like he had nothing to do. This was at 7:30 at night. read more

OK. Maybe this isn't fair. After all, it's McDonald's - not exactly known for tickling the taste buds. The food is what you would expect. If you haven't eaten at a McDonalds - then welcome to Earth, how was your trip across the galaxy? About this location: it is on the south end of a little strip unit along with Zio Johnos (think awful and bland Italian pasta), and Subway. That being said, it is small, and during busy periods, indoor seating will fill up. The bathroom situation is TERRIBLE. it is in country terms, a "one-holer". There are no stalls. One person in, lock the door, do your job, flush, go. God help you if all you want to do is wash your hands and you have someone in there taking their time growing a tail. Service: they always seem to have plenty of friendly employees standing around to help you, and they are quick to take your order. But then you wait....and you wait...and you wait. If they rotated some of those employees away from the cash register and toward the production line they might actually be a little quicker. Drive through will almost ALWAYS be faster (and when you figure a fast food joint will get more than 50% of their revenue through the drive thru, it is understandable), than their counter service. The inside service has been slow every time i have dined there (the kids earn the trip as a reward, otherwise i wouldn't even bother), and there is no reason for it to be that slow. Food quality: It's McDonalds. It is what you expect. the thing to watch out for here it the french fries and the serving temperature. From people that i have known that worked at McDonalds in high school, they franchise operator's manual would say to "FILL the box of fries". I think this location forgets that. they don't like to open the box all the way (hence it can be 'filled' with fewer fries), and then they fill it only half full. They love to 'fill' the fry area and getting 'old' fries is not uncommon. I've also noticed this tendency to bring the fries over and set it on your tray (so they can stat getting cold) while they are still waiting for your sandwich to be prepared. please - the fries should be the last thing on the tray - just a suggestion. I think the fries are dropped often in the frozen bag, since i've noticed the fries are shorter, broken, etc, and not optimum for dunking in ketchup (that was my daughter's observation). Food temperature is very so-so. If you like hot apple or holiday pies, this is N O T the place for you. Three times my family have ordered apple pies, 3 times the filling was barely warm to the touch. Take a pass. One other thing to watch for: portion size with the McFlurry. You might want to skip this. My kids recently wanted a small Oreo McFlurry. i want to say these VERY small deserts were between $2.50 and $3.00 each. I've rinsed my mouth after brushing my teeth with larger glasses than what this was served in! 8 OZ glass maybe (i think they use them for water cups or happy meals), no whipped cream, and the glasses weren't even full.
