    manager that should be FIRED!!

Pulled into this mcdonalds wanting to order food through drive-thru with my friend, got screamed at by the manager on duty (i didnt get her name but she has an annoying squeaky voice and short hair and black glasses, maybe late 20's or mid 30's) for "driving too fast and almost hitting her, when she was still on the other side of the parking lot, no where close to me and while i was following right behind a black truck. Waited in line for 10 minutes and once i got to the window started screaming at me there aswell and cancelled my order. I walked into the mcdonalds to confront her about it and she called me rude things, whenever i asked her if i could see the cameras because she was lying and i had a WITNESS there taking my side, she kicked me out and threatened to call the police. Nothing bad about other workers, only that manager with a squeaky voice and basically no hair, she should not be in any position of running the McDonalds with her type of behavior; especially refusing to show me the cameras because she knew she was in the wrong.

How does a fry box work?? I don't think they train well......although any person with common sense should know how a fry container opens- not just stuff some fries in a flat box. I don't have much confidence in our future at this point :-) Pay for a large, get a small.......great economics for the business but the customer not so much.

Usually, reviews for this place are all wack. However, mine is outstanding, I think. The girls and I took a one a.m. trip to this exact location and went through the drive thru. The guy working at the time, I didn't get his name, he had dark hair, and a stubbly beard, he seemed to have been the only worker on duty, besides another that was only doing maintenance. Well anyway, it took awhile to receive our food, only because, as mentioned a moment ago, he appeared to be alone. However, he was one of the most hard working McDonald's employees I have ever seen, and he was super sweet, which made it such a pleasure to have my service there. Keep up the good work mysterious midnight employee, you're succeeding.

It's a McDonald's. Don't set your standards too high. It's not bad for a place run by minimum wage employees.

I decided to try the salmon eggs benedict, and it was nothing short of outstanding--a beautiful fusion of flavors with perfectly poached eggs, rich hollandaise, and fresh, high-quality salmon. Every bite was satisfying and thoughtfully prepared. The rustic potatoes were crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, and seasoned just right, making them the perfect complement to the dish. I also ordered mimosas made with fresh-squeezed orange juice, which added a refreshing and vibrant touch to the entire experience. What impressed me most was the attention to detail, from the presentation of the food to the overall quality of the ingredients. You can really tell they care about what they serve. I drove 40 minutes just to try this place, and it was absolutely worth it. I'll definitely be coming back again and again. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a top-tier brunch experience!

But then there is Doughnut World, this small little hole in the wall going into downtown Winder that we had passed the strip mall it's tucked in several times but didn't pay it any mind because we weren't looking for breakfast or donuts so didn't think much of it. But yesterday we were so we popped in here to check it out. They have a great variety of all the ones you expect (glazed, Boston cream, etc) plus some features like Fresh Strawberries & Cream and Dubai Chocolate Cronuts which are double stacked donuts with filling in the middle, like donut sandwiches. I cannot speak highly enough of the pillowy perfection of the donuts themselves. They have just enough sweetness but not overbearing and they aren't dense like Dunkin or air like Krispy Kreme that just disappears in your mouth. Don't get me wrong, I like both but the donuts at Doughnut World are in a league of their own. They aren't cakey, and they aren't like puff pastry, they are fluffy with just the right balance of soft to dense. It's hard to explain. You just gotta try for yourself. If I had to choose the perfect donut, this is it. We bought a half dozen to try: glazed (of course), two Boston creams, because of course (to which my cousin remarked that's the best she'd ever had), lemon, strawberry or raspberry (I just pointed and said "that one" lol) not sure but it was delicious, and a caramel with bacon? More labels in the display case would certainly help and if the owner reads this I do advise for this reason. The star of the show was the Strawberries and Cream Cronut without a doubt. It was perfection and I would go back just for this. It was the perfect balance of donut, strawberry and cream in which each flavor and texture came through into such a delicate and delicious treat! We did try a kolache that the pastry was perfect but I didn't care much for the filling, just personal preference. It was fine but just not my thing. I was there for the sweets! I'm glad I tried it but I would opt for a different savory pastry next time. We didn't order any drinks but they have a nice variety of teas and here you can get all the variety of like matcha, boba, Thai, chai, etc that are all the rage these days so I'll have to give some of those in future visits. If you haven't checked this place out you won't be disappointed. The lady working behind the counter was super sweet and helpful and even tossed in a few donut holes for us. As we were walking out the people were pouring in from the parking lot so I don't think this place is a secret, perhaps more of a little hidden gem right on the little outskirts of downtown Winder.
