When all else fails me in the morning, when my toddler won't eat, I always rely heavily on ordering breakfast for him from this location. Whether you order from the mobile app or through any other food delivery service, I've rarely had an issue. He gets a customized McMuffin - no Canadian bacon; double egg round and cheese. It's actually pretty good once you try it yourself, and it keeps him full all day at school. They always package it up neatly and nicely, and clearly display the order receipt on the outside of the bag. When I go in to pick-up, on the rare days that I can, the staff here always jump to address me and provide prompt service. The inside is constantly being cleaned, and the upstairs seems to be pretty popular for kids to hang out before school. This McDonald's is always busy, especially when school is in session. Even when you order ahead on the app, there is almost always a wait. It can get really crowded inside, so if you're dining in, the seating upstairs is nicer and much more spacious than the few tables downstairs. Food is what you would expect from any other McDonald's, and the few times things have been missing, they've been quickly corrected. Location is very convenient on 86th Street, but just be prepared to wait a little longer than some other locations. read more

This restaurant is a negative star, because when there are no seats on the first floor, I wanted to go to the 2nd floor, but I can't because there is a stupid security guy standing in front of the stairs I tried to go upstairs but the problem is that the security guy won't let me go upstairs, I asked him why can't kids go upstairs but he said "I don't know" he is the security guy he should know why!! My sister and I ordered breakfast for delivery via Uber Eats and this time around, all I have are praises. Tbh we weren't planning on ordering from this location (read my last review abt service & delivery for clarification), but my sister misread the address (she thought this was the other 86th St location). Anyways, delivery was EXTREMELY fast. From the time we placed the order to the time it arrived, it only took 20 minutes, perhaps even less. The food was warm and tasty and DO YOU SEE THOSE BEAUTIFUL GOLDEN HASH BROWNS? We also got more condiments--extra butter and ketchup--than asked for. AND SINCE WHEN DOES MCDONALD'S OFFER COMPLIMENTARY APPLE FRITTERS? I was going to give this place 4 stars, but the free apple fritter really did it for me. It gets pretty mad in here, that's why they call it MadDonald's. It's one of the busiest McDonald's I've ever seen in my life. Way too many school kids in here hanging out. Nothing against them but wow. Definitely needs few more tables and chairs to handle all the insane traffic that it gets. The school kids were unusually friendly though. Holding the bathroom door for me and being nice to me. There's some good people in Bay Ridge and apparently they're raising their kids nicely. I came here to pick up lunch before heading home. The ordering lines was a bit disorganized but, they moved quickly. I waited around 20 minutes for fries and chicken nuggets though. The section for picking up your order is always mess and reminds me of a mosh pit. People jostling each other to be up front. My main reason for visiting this local McD's is to enjoy the $1 coffee with friends after some shopping or general errands in the vicinity. I don't mind the occasional cheeseburger despite what my waistline says about it and as far as a fast food chain goes they do alright with tending to my meager needs. The staff always seems friendly which I try to give right back to them and that is important because some customers come in with this air of superiority. No need to stomp on the cashiers based on your own bad day so leave that nonsense outside. Overall this seems to be a clean place and I have often seen a franchise manager or owner checking into the restaurant and meeting with staff. Its good to have that presence as long as everyone isn't getting spooked by him being there and messing up. There is a larger upstairs dining area which is where I generally go to sit. It should be noted that the long tables with the higher stools have the ability to charge your mobile device or plus a laptop in which is ALWAYS beneficial. It can be crowded based on the time you go there so I would say avoid a Saturday or Sunday shopping rush and close to when the nearby high school lets out because it will be chaos. Love this location. My daughter has severe egg and peanut allergies, which often makes it difficult for her to enjoy eating out. Finding establishments that take food allergies seriously is not always an easy task . The managers at this location take the time out of their very busy schedules to listen carefully to my instructions regarding cross contamination, they even go the extra mile to fulfill my order themselves. This was a pretty busy McDonald's. The dining area was packed with very few seats open. Per the usual before running a half marathon or marathon, I stopped in here to pick up a quick cheap meal. I got their Quarter Pounder with cheese meal which came with french fries, and a drink. Nothing beats McDonald's fries! As to be expected, the food was ready shortly after I placed my order. Good location in Bay Ridge for a late night meal on the weekend. They are no longer open 24 hours every day, now they just stay open around the clock Friday-Sunday. Staff is extra friendly here and they know the regulars and treat them well. I like the Big Mac specials here all day Sunday and during the week from 4-8pm which is buy one get one free. They have plenty of room to sit with a whole second floor dedicated to extra seats, theres even a nice size play place for the kids ustairs. McDonald's shouldnt be your "go to" spot for food daily but every once in a while it sure does taste good and this is one of the better locations for a quick fix. read more

Just past 11 AM, the staff was able to make me a biscuit, egg & cheese sandwich (close to $3 including tax). To drink, I ordered an iced caramel mocha. I had no complaint about the sandwich, but the coffee. I realized it tasted like the tropical fruit smoothies it makes. I guess they use the same machine or utensils to make coffee AND smoothies. The food service is quick, but that's about it. Other than that, if you gotta eat in, beware. The tables are rarely clean. The place is full of homeless / junkies. The toilets are disgusting as well, and no soap in the soap dispenser. One of my least favorite places to come to, if only my little sisters didn't drag me here, so they could play in the play area. POORLY MANAGED!!! Chaos or not, you're a fast food chain. You're known to get swamped during peak hours. You should have a better handle of your staff. You're getting paid for it. I ordered ONLINE to pick up so it would avoid any mishaps and yet it still happened. I ordered five Big Mac meals and i get home with four Big Macs and three fries. They wouldn't acknowledge me by the wait station (not one, not two, but five staff members, one was including the manager) Being shoed away by an 18 year old kid with a cap (one of the workers) instead of answering me for not having my drinks, and not getting a response from the manager, i got disgruntled and left without even having a chance to look at the rest of the order. I eat McDonald's French fries maybe once or twice a year, the sundaes perhaps a few times a year and the fish sandwich once every few years and nothing else. Sis swears by the coffee but they don't have decaf so I don't usually buy it. Still, I can't fault a place that provided a much needed bathroom after a tour of Dyker Heights Christmas lights that came after one LONG train ride. One bathroom was at ground level and two were at the top level, which an old lady waiting at ground level was kind enough to tell me about. And the bathroom I used was clean, though maybe because it was New Year's Eve and there was only a few sad looking patrons scattered throughout. I dashed in, dashed out, but noticed the place overall seemed clean, with masculine, brown striped wallpaper that reminded me of an old Hojo's. Let's overlook the sticky floor *and* the fact that they have a 'pay toilet'. I don't expect much BUT...when I order four items and they can't get that right, then I *know* I'm in McDonald's. Ordered 2 McChicken's (one no mayo), medium fries, and a black coffee (no sugar). Got my order, opened the bag... no fries. The cashier apologized (her apologies, though probably insincere, are all that got this place two stars). Open my coffee. It has milk in it. I tell her I ordered a coffee, no milk, no sugar. She pours another and apologizes. I open it, and say "This still has milk in it". She makes a third coffee and, well, third time's a charm. But by this point, the fries are ice-cold. And I just want to get out of there. Rather than apologizing, I wish they had gotten my order correct. McDonald's has two good things on the menu- fries and coffee. And they managed to ruin both.
